A spell to master her finesse on later, then. Or perhaps Oni was strong enough that it didn't matter. Ali would grunt once in acknowledgement, noting how the other woman went for a defensive pose, bringing her weapon in close to protect her body with more ease than the blade she had tried to use. She would need to close the gap.
She shifted furhter to the side before charging, blade in frotn of her to deflect the spear to the side if it came and hopefully exposing Oni! If it worked, she would aim a kick to her abdomen.

As she came Oni took the chance and used her range to and advantage and reached her spear to Ali's forward most foot. Charging it low Oni intended to make Ali miss her deflect manuver. It did however risked Ali's blade to the front. But she felt the risk was worth the gamble either they were both being stabbed or Ali would back off.
Oni who usually shy'd away from pain taking this risk? It wouldn't be something she'd notice at the present time.

Challenge accepted.
"Raztal!" The energy shackle would form around Oni's forward stepping ankle, still able to be broken but hopefully enough to throw the woman off her momentum for that second it would take. Ali would shift her stance and swipe at Oni's exposed form.
"Kek!" Thankfully, the protective shields at Cabal meant neither would do too much damage to each other other than some minor cuts and the like, but the sting of pain and impact of knowing what could have happened would remain. She'd learned that in her previous spars. She grit her teeth as the spear went through the top of her sho and crashed against bone, a light trickle of blood as Oni's rewards for her bravery.
She'd kick at Oni's knee, intending to take her mobility down despite the ridiculous amounts of feathers the woman sported.

Well she called Oni's bluff and struck true. Suppose their were people who had no fear in their hearts to begin with. Oni accepted Ali's blade and realized she was teathered to the ground. She couldn't do another energy boost so it was just going to be there for now. And that left her open to getting kicked and knocked to the ground.
A soft "Ooph!" fell from her lips. As she'd still be teathered for a moment longer Oni arranged her spear to defence. The bruising that Oni would feel from Ali's blow would ache as she lifted it.

She took satisfaction in what she had accomplished, but the results left Ali wondering about her opponent. Was she really as comfortable with the spear as she seemed to think, or was that merely in comparison with what she had of the key-shaped blade?
"Can you fly, or are those merely decoration?" She gestured to Oni's wings with her free hand, a thoughtful frown in place as she held her blade across her body in a defensive position.

Oni looked at her. Able to use her feet again she took the moment to stand.
"I didn't want to be uneven. It is just a spar after all, I am working on my ability to fight and get better." she shrugged spear stance at the ready. "I could fly and keep you out of my melee reach all day. But I'd not get better if I always took the easy way."

Ali nodded, respecting and slightly resenting the self-imposed handicap. For all intents and purposes, it was a spar between allies, but it was also something to note for later if it came to fighting alongside her in battle. At lest she was aware of it, and honest.
"Alright then, let's continue." She'd prefer going all out, but if that was what Oni wanted, she would deal. The shackle faded, energy spent and reappearing around the wrist that held the spear secure.
"Raztal!" She wondered if Oni would merely wait, defend herself, or try to throw the spear since she mentioned preferring distance weapons she could use as projectiles.
"You seem coordinated enough with it and your wings. But now what?"
The spar was back on.

Oni wanted to adjusted her fingers but the new energy prevented her to do so. As she held her spear in the middle she made a thoughtful face and it fell into a chuckle.
"I wonder... Lets find out." yes it was amusing and fun to forward the first time find real strategy in a split second fight. She had no idea what she was going to do and she hardly had the experience to do any of it right.
On hand on the spear she held it close to her body and started using it like a bo staff with a pointy end. Twirled it to slash it horizontally across Ali. And continue int that counter wise motion stepping into closing the distance and the other end would threaten to slam Ali's shoulder.

"Good." Ali grinned at the other woman's spunk, aiming to deflect the blow with the spear tip with her blade and shove the weapon aside, exposing both of them and intending to throw Oni off balance. The strike sent a shock down her sword arm, numbing it as she tried to tighten the grip on her blade as the other end came for a blunt strike. She pushed forward, trying to cut Oni's advantage with the spear short as she felt the blow hit her other shoulder.
Closing the gap between them, she'd reach for the shaft of Oni's spear with her free hand, attempting to pull the woman closer and aimed for a kick to her ribs!
"Kek!"

Oni had anticipated her to back up not come forward. Truly her lack of fight experience was setting her back. She was left wide open.
Her body felt the impacts expecially that to her ribs she exhaled a hard grunt with it all.
More so her armor and spear vanished as she'd used up her viable Qi. Her power was down to base and she fell clutching her bruising sided.
"G-G..." She breathed tapping the ground where they stood.
She's done.

Though she remained on her guard as Oni collapsed to the ground, relaxing only when the other redhead tapped the earth to indicate her yielding. There was a sense of satisfaction as she sheathed her sword, stepping forward as she got a look at the girl beyond the feathers and spear.
"Well fought." She rolled her shoulder, flexing her fingers instead of shaking out her arm as she tried to push through the tingling. Reaching down, she held out a hand to Oni, allowing her to take it and sit upright if she wished.

"I'm not used to thinking about my next move on the fly... And three others after on the fly. I am not usually a fighter but a thinker, ya see?" she took Ali's hand and hoisted herself up with the support.

"You'll learn." That or she'd die. Ali released the woman's hand after helping her to her feet, dusting herself off and adjusting her disheveled hair and clothes.
"Sometimes, you don't have time to think. You need to react to that spear that's coming for you while your allies are fighting and dying right beside you." Like at the battle for 260. Her home had been saved, but her people died. That was expected of a warrior.

"No doubt, and I want to learn quickly for sure." she felt like she needed rest. Depleting her power was not a tactical way to go about this spar. But she learned a lot and tonight she might hit up her books. Her library and recourses of military tactics and notes she's made on people, characters, and old games would been looked over.
After a good nap of course.
"A victory well earned. If you'd excuse me I'm going to go and recover and collect myself." She'd kindly smile and wave at Aly giving her the floor for her own continuing training.

"Of course." She nodded as Oni collected herself and left, turning her attention to her own training, adjusting for the fact she'd drained herself quite a bit before reaching this point. Another member of Cabal, but one who was interesting in her own way.
