A New Dawn Rises (Spike and Eve)

[Mathew Amtrum]

Mathew let them get their hits in, the area where Sage hit him would erupt with a pillar looking to slam him painfully back and away from him while he'd inhale deeply before exhaling at Eve. His breath expelling shrapnel and stones that if they struck her would start to harden her body, slowly petrifying her.

Mathew, however, would frown to himself, the stone felt off.  His whole Qi did and he didn't know why.  And he didn't like that.

[Sage Sudeki]

The pillar that shot Spike harshly and face first into the dirt would cause his legs to roll over his torso bending him in half before flipping him onto his back.

"Aaaagh!"

He let out a small yell from the pain, he knew he would not be directly back into the fighting from how that felt. He gripped at the dirt gritting his teeth to lift his now bleeding face. His eyes would glow as a bolt of lightning arced off his form. Ripping into the dirt near him and erupting from the ground would be a somewhat large Chinese Dragon made of Lightning, about the size of a van would roar before a bolt of lightning would shoot from it's mouth at Mathew! It was very difficult at this point to resist using his Seikatsugan.

Lightning Dragon - Spike is able to summon the personification of his father, a chinese dragon made of Lightning. Capable of fighting based off Spike's will and intentions it has health equal to his energy and can shoot lightning from it's mouth doing Spike's energy in damage.

[Evelyn Amtrum]

Today was not off to a great start. Evelyn grit her teeth and grunted withe as the breath attack hit her with full strength. Part of her felt better knowing her father would have something line up for Spike, but the thought quickly faded as she felt her body turn stiff and rigid until it was like stone, leaving her in place.

Which meant she was a massive target for whatever happened next. She'd push forward, letting Spike hopefully be the focus for the time being.

She'd let her constructs of blades rain down from the sky as she swung hte blade at Mathew's side!

Mathew just took the lightning blast from the Dragon in stride merely shifting his head back to look at the boy with a frown.

"Quit trying to be your Daddy Boy. He'd never beaten me with Lightning and you sure as hell won't either."

He'd bring his arms in front of him to block the blades from his daughter as they slashed through his clothing but unable to break through his armor.

"Now knock the other one down. Last one standing gets a prize."

Spike breathed hard as he waved the Dragon into non-existence, he'd rush Evelyn and go to sweep her legs out from under her and push her to knock her over. Course he did so limping, but that was a different story to what Mathew had done to her to slow her down, but after that he would turn to Mathew knowing his right hand was at it's limit for his Qi.

"Fuck it."

Spike would turn to Mathew as his eye changed to that of his Seikatsugan, Spike would move forward trying to get as close to Mathew as possible to try and grab him by the head as he leaped at him to throw a knee directly into his face, pulling himself at Mathew's head and pulling his head down though he doubted it would have that effect. His right knee would burst into the black flames and plasma as it had done before, except this time stronger.

[Evelyn Amtrum]

The best time to try was now. Evelyn grit her teeth as she turned her attention to Spike, refusing to back off while he took advantage of the personification her body still struggled against. Which was weird. Cool, but weird. The Sudeki spawn definitely had speed on his side, and she had no problem letting him come to her to knock her down. Her hands grabbed onto him, his clothes, whatever she could manage, the energy constructs forming as she would attack him and try to bring him down with her if she couldn't win it herself. She brought a knee up to his torso as the blades cam from below!

Mathew tsked as Spike launched his attack at him as well, not going for the defined target, even as he did manage to take Eve down. A punishment and a reward it seemed. They were going to play it this way apparently. The Dragon Tattoo on his arm glowed with power in response to the energy surge from Spike and Eve, resonating with them and drawing power as the ground under his feet shifted back away from Spike.

"Wrong target boy."

Annoyed at missing Mathew, he was grabbed by Evelyn whom he was just going to fall ontop of, mount up and punch until Mathew said stop. However, the knee was coming, easy enough to prevent by raising his own knee to intercept. Next problem was the Qi blades, he could see them, but he was not fast enough to do anything about them as the energy ripped into him, cutting through his clothing and skin, causing new bleeding wounds.

The pain was searing and blew most of his concentration for the time being.

[Evelyn Amtrum]

The damage Spike took from her attack surprised her. Maybe it was just an off day. With her kick blocked and her movement coming back to her, Evelyn kicked Spike in the knee as she brought her leg down, hoping to take him down as constructs formed her gauntlets again.  She'd let go of Sage with one hand and try to punch him in the face!

With the kick taking out his legs, Sage would grip the clothing on her shoulders at her neck and yank as he fell, sure that opened his face to the oncoming punch, blood flowed freely from a cut on his face, however he was planning to pull her into him as they fell to drive a knee into her stomach.

Instead when they hit the ground he would wink with a cheeky smile as both hands burst into the fire holding onto her, he would stand up helping her to her feet, by throwing her directly at Mathew, a loud crack could be heard as a bone in his right arm broke leaving it twisted oddly.

And thus the tables turned. Eve was pulled down with Spike as he went, already starting to slam her palm down into his face to make it less pretty when he was suddenly winking with a sassy little smile as the flame erupted near her face, enough to jerk it back as they flared up around her neck and shoulders.

"Nice way to tell a girl she's hot again," she quipped - right before she went flying through the air. She drew in a breath as the energy formed around her hands, forming gantlets and extending into a pair of "brass" knuckles. The constructed blades flew out, arcing up in the air to slam down into Mathew as she drew her fist and forced all of her strength into the punch she aimed at his torso.   The distinct sound of bones cracking and breaking still rang in her ear with the blow, but she didn't really have time to stop and look for the cause of it.

If they were going to go all out, it was their best chance.

Mathew waited patiently as they launched their counter-attacks at him, working in tandem to throw Eve at him, Spike's arm breaking in the process. A poor move then. He'd let out a small whistle as the energy around both Spike and Eve would vanish, their Qi being blocked off suppressed. And so it was that Eve would just crash into him and his stone armor before he'd throw her to the ground.

"So, you both fucked up. We're done and it's time for notes."

He'd turn to Spike first.

"You are useless if you are going to keep doing more damage to yourself than your enemy is. How do you expect to function on the battlefield if you are defeating yourself? You're not in Prota's carebear squad anymore, we are dealing with real fighting against people that are actually dangerous. So stop fucking around."

Then to Eve.

"And you. I can not tell you how disappointed I am in you right now. Your sister and Mother are dead, and this is not a fucking game. We are not playing around. I get that you have lost some of your raw power while you were dead, but I know damn well I taught you better than this. You need to ration your energy because I can tell you are already running on fumes. What are you going to accomplish if you blow everything you have inside of you before you even reach the real threat?"

He folded his arms over his chest while his nostrils flared in frustration at the two children before him.

"And I don't want to hear anything from either of you about holding back. If you actually manage to hurt or kill me then good. Might mean you are ready, but right now I've seen a fourteen-year-old girl at Cabal who is more of a threat than you. And I hope you are embarrassed because I am embarrassed for you. Now get your asses inside, we have to tend to Spike's arm."

Silence, Fool: Mathew can now, to up to 2 people within 20 feet of himself, seal any Qi attacks from being used for up to 2 posts by the individual. After wearing off, they get a backlash increase of +10 energy. Does not work on anyone who's energy is greater than his own. Base only.

[Sage Sudeki]

Spike was holding his arm, breathing and grunting through his teeth about the pain. He could argue the point, Spike definitely wasn't holding back. However, with how much damage he did to himself having to rely solely on his base Qi Mathew's point met truth in his pain filled mind. He also wasn't sure if he was bullshitting about the fourteen year old at Cabal or not, but it didn't really matter to him. The fact he said it pissed him off a bit.

Spike barely noticed the lack of Qi energy even though he was sure he still had some rounds left in him. He decided not to argue and turned to head into the house. The Arena was at least this difficult on an easy day.

~Maybe it's because Evelyn isn't at full power? She seemed to hit like a ton of bricks with those constructs.~

The heck was this? Evelyn could feel it before her attack ever reached her father, a lack of strength and energy that felt almost as bad as when she’d first been brought back to life. Not near as strong, but unsettling. Being thrown to the ground in the same moment she felt the counter connect wasn’t much better.

She pushed herself up off the ground as the training was declared done, feeling the shame as they were both berated for their failures. Her face paled at the death of her family being used right out of the gate, gritting her teeth at the mention of some random fourteen year old. It didn’t matter who the kid was; her pride stung to the point it showed with the hint of red at her cheeks. What was worse, she did know better and had pushed all the way despite her better judgement.

“Yes, sir,” she said quietly before turning to head inside and opening the door to let Spike in first.

’That’s new.’. Both her father’s abilities and Spike’s. They were going to have to figure something out for the damage. ’Didn’t think he’d be the type to do that.’. She knew the sound of bones breaking, but his doing so when he’d thrown her had Evelyn wondering what else she’d need to know for next time.
