A Bevy of Booty Deserves A Drink (Davy Jones)

"Depends. Could be greed. Could be fear."

It was possible they were venturing this far north out of bravery and the thrill of exploration. But he found it more likely they were either trying to profit in new markets or running from something worse than uncertainty. Greed and Fear were to of man's most basic instincts. And two of his most powerful. That's where he'd put his gold.

"True." Desperation of any kind could lead to foolishness, but the bravery might be tainted too. To face an open water, hostile and unknown after the world was destroyed. If it was fear, that meant things were so bad that they couldn't travel by land to escape it. Same for any sort of markets and need for supplies and resources.

"It could be worth looking into news as well as goods if you like, Captain?" It might not only be the only ship coming their way. And if there was something else, well, they'd have a head's up.

[Davy Jones]

"Agreed. There are people that pay as much or more for information as they do for goods."

[Lani de la Mer]

"Indeed." And all the better for them if they got in on it for free. A hint of a smile tugged at her lips, be it for the potential profit they were sailing out for, or the fact that the wind whipped about and was starting to bring in even darker clouds.

"It's going to have a wild one for a bit. It'll rage until it tires itself out." Hence the short timespan.

[Davy Jones]

"Then rest while you can. Because I'll be having you whipping up one of our own before long. As for me, I'm going to sleep while I can."

He'd say boarding the ship, lifting a hand up for her to either follow or not. She had her orders, she'd follow them or pay the price later. He trusted her to make the right choice.

[Lani de la Mer]

"Agreed." She nodded, pace slowing a bit as they reached the ship. Part of her wanted to stay out of her bunk, and enjoy the open air a bit more, and perhaps she would. If duty dictated otherwise, however, she needed to be alert to scout the way and mark the skies. A handy skill on sea and shore alike, and one of the reasons she was here in the first place instead of feeding the belly of the ocean. Or the captain.

She reached out and took the hand he offered, climbing to the decks withe a small sigh of content as her feet hit the deck. Her hand rested at her side, reminded again how he was one of the ones who didn't flinch away. As it should be, as the captain, nevermind he was Davy Jones. He had more terrifying skills and tricks up his sleeves than many she knew.

"Good night to you, Captain."

[Davy Jones]

"And to you Witch. May your skies be favorable and your seas kind."

And with that, he'd vanish to his own quarters to rest and plot his future course.
