[Rhona Hall]

Getting her Cabal ID out and tapping the vending machine scanners she began to pick out a couple of drinks starting with her own before turning to Soni once more.

"What would you like?"

At a rest stop amongst the Cabal training grounds they were still a ways off from the main campus. But it wasnt unusual to find other attendees further out than even this.

[Soni Vox]

By the time they arrived a new song would be playing as Soni gazed wide eyed at the menu. She had never really experienced drinks like this. Her and Veronica always just drank water; veronica was always kind of a health freak anyway. But Soni stared at the menu, her mind whizzing with all the opportunity. Although there was one in particular that didn't seem too appetizing.

"Wh-what is...root.. beer??" Soni asked, slowly turning to Rhona with a questioning eyebrow raised.

Elias is currently just taking drinks out of the vending machine. He takes one sip from each drink, makes a face, then drops it on the ground to grab the next one.

He's not paying for any of these.

"Rootbeer? Taste like licorice, a bitter candy that leaves a bad after taste, and cola to me." She would have continued button the display a boy was making would be growing distracting.

[Soni Vox]

Soni considered how that would taste, until a thief caught her attention. Her voice would grow dark and terrifying; it'd probably resemble the lord of darkness himself. "HEY YOU! STEALING IS A CRIME." She would roar at the boy. The song changed coincidentally accordingly.

Elias' eyes go wide, and he turns to look at who was yelling.

Only to see two girls.

His eyes don't change at all, and he just stares as he drops the can in his hand before blindly reaching for another.

Rhona pats Soni on the shoulder. "Ah Cabal knows already, they'll keep track and take it from his account." she leaned closer to Soni. "I've not met him yet, but I think he is the leader of Territory 263, so he can afford it..." she knew of the territory which waz pretty baren and certainly poor. "... At least I think so."

She stood up straight. "Oi, have you gone through all the root beers yet? She's never had one, do you mind tossing one over while you are at it?"

[Soni Vox]

"Ohhh," Soni replied in an apologetic tone with her normal voice. "Sorry about that stranger! Take all the cans you want! But a root beer would be nice.... I think..." She still wasn't sure after the previous description.

A leader of an entire territory? "Woah," she responded to such news, "should we like, bow? Or something?" Her voice was hushed so that only Rhona could hear it.

[Thorn Wyatt]

"Root beer?"

Elias tilts his head, before glancing down at the mess of leaking cans at his feet.

He kicks one over towards them, spilling its contents everywhere, though it is indeed a root beer.

Her eyes narrowed unamused.

"No I wouldn't bow to that." she turned away and flipped her hair out of the way while getting Soni a fresh one. If she didnt like it Rhona had the change to get something she did.

[Soni Vox]

Soni laughed. "Thanks, blondie." Soni grabbed the can and looked at the two.

"Uh... hold on just a second." Soni ran around the corner where no one could see her and began the routine of drinking it; she opened it, pulled down her mask, and poured it into one of the bigger openings in her face. The fizz made it's way down her throat and into her stomach. "Hm..." she muttered to herself.

"Welp," Soni came out from around the corner with her mask on and continued, "tastes like all the other fizzy drinks to me." She tossed the can over to Elias. "That's disappointing. Also, it tastes nothing like licorice. That stuff is chewy! This root beer stuff is nowhere close to chewy," the girl informed Rhona with a confused face.

Elias frowns as the can is tossed towards him, and his eyes narrow.

"I don't want your garbage."

Before looking at Soni.

"Why do you have a mask? You sick, too?"

[Rhona Hall]

"I meant that sort of cold lingering taste in your mouth, licorice does the same." when she turned around Soni was not wherr Rhona thought meaning she missed something all together. "I suppose I wonder if your taste buds are a bit different from ours."

With Elias's question she wasnt going to answer for Soni.

[Soni Vox]

"Yea man, I sure am sick. Sick of you," the girl quipped, raising an eyebrow. She attempted to snap with sass, but it had been years since she had seen someone do that last, and thus her snap was comedically awful.

Then she heard Rhona wonder out loud. "Oh yea, I remember hearing about those things when we kind of glossed of it in class. They're on your tongue, and I don't have that, remember? I don't have that, or a mouth, or vocal chords," she added, looking back at Elias in such a way to suggest that was this answer to his question.

Elias is seemingly unphased by the snapback, though it's mostly due to him being used to people being a lot worse in their treatment of him.

"That's weird. Let me see."

He's genuinely curious!
