Blake didn't travel with a procession and group of dignitaries. Not normally at least unless it was for some big political thing. It wasn't how he liked to do things, and thankfully his Kingdom was so new that they didn't have such traditions. It meant he had some of his freedoms still, as long as he ensured that things were running smoothly in his absence. But there were those he trusted implicitly. Sai and Brill had been with him from the start, and he knew that they felt the same as him and had his back. They were brothers, not by blood shared, but by blood spilled.
He was dressed nicely, in traditional clothing of his home, his mask strapped to the side of his head and Beatrice floating dutifully behind him fussing with his hair and making sure he looked his best while he searched through the markets for the item known as a model sailboat.

Blake would note several stands that offered boats, many of them general and not entirely special. There were more shops down the poorer district, or he could head up to high town and try to find one there.

Blake doesn't really know what he is looking for so he just kind of wanders, having no eye for boats at all. Since he'd never seen one before in his life.

"BOATS- BOATS FOR SALE-!" He wandered into the poor district! The homes aren't super broken down or anything, but the people there are a little leaner and live without vast luxury. If he approached the stand, he'd see a large assortment of boats. "Young man- are you out for some toy sailboats?"

Blake blinked and would move to the stall. "I'm interested in them yes. What can you tell me about them?"

"Well, they're cedar wood with cloth sails. They can indeed float on small bodies of water and can be pulled in with a cord tucked inside the rear of the boat, near the crux of the keel. The top plate comes off so you can work inside it- it's a very masterful piece of craftsmanship. Only fourty thousand."
He stared at Blake. His assumption is that this one is very....very rich.

"Why would you need to work inside of it?"

"Make repairs, alter how the rigging fits. Various reasons. Store things."
He offered one to Blake to look at.

Blake would take it in his hand. Very carefully and just stare at it. He didn't know what to do with it really.
"Rigging?"

The man blinked.
"Oh....you don't know anything about boats, do you boy?"
He sighed. So much for a sale.
"Okay....so this is, for general purposes, a sail boat. It's used to uh...float out on the sea. The rigging are these ropes-" He gestured, pointing out string that held together the sail. "-which keeps yours sail tethered and open to catch wind, move your boat. The sail are these pieces of cloth here. This is just a model but the real ones are very large, dozens of feet sometimes."

"Why would you want to do that? The current would just take you wherever."
From what he'd seen of rivers it would be downstream. But he assumed oceans were random.

The man shook his head.
"Boats have wheels, which moves the rudder located here-" He gestured at the piece of wood sticking out the back. "This allows you to steer and turn. You would want to do it for various reasons. To see other countries, to fish, to relax. But the boat would absolutely be within your control."

"I thought after the war the ocean was untamable?"
How could you safely go across it? He'd scratch his head. This was all new to him.

He nodded.
"That's true- as far as I know, the deep sea is. But there are inlets, and some areas within a few miles of the continent that are fairly tamed. Once you got further out though, that is suicidal."

"I see."
He'd hold the boat up to look under it, still holding it carefully as he looked it over. He may not know anything about boats, but he at least had an eye for craftsmanship. He was looking for flaws and signs of poor workmanship.
