Blake finally reached the summit of the mountain, arriving at the cave that is the Devil's Lair. A hole in the side of the mountain at first glance. But glancing over his shoulder at Virgil, he would find the Qi sprite nodding, prompting Blake to slowly make his way in. Weaving between jutting spikes of stone as he descended deeper into the cave to finish the quest that had taken him this far. To find the last of the Dragon balls to help him protect his people.

As he started down, he'd find the air was stifling. He'd be passing human bones along the way, and the deeper he went, the more palpable his fear was. Blake would likely not be used to that sensation- but there it was, bubbling up and coursing through his veins. Fear. Fear. Fear. As he reached the bottom of the mile long cave, he'd find dozens of bones and bodies littered about. There, sitting in the center of the cave, was a hulking mass of demonic muscle and strength. In it's left hand, it held the skull of Bailey Blake, half broken, brain spilling out in it's left hand. In it's right, it was sniffing the arm of a large male, and if Blake stared long enough, he'd recognize it clearly. The beast turned at his entrance, dropping both body parts and standing. Next to him was a broken crib, bloody rags surrounding a mass of flesh inside. There was a second, torn in half child not in rags. Flies hovered around it's discarded form, the stench from it sifting into the rest, adding to the horrible odor. The monster let out a gut wrenching roar, and Blake would find himself now grasping his fear realized. This was him- his true form of inner torment. This was what he could easily become, an uncaring Qi beast that killed even those he loved without worry. The bodies and bones around would become clearer, and he'd realize they were his people, and despite some part of him possibly understanding the test before him, this monster was no less real. It was time for war.  |

The fear that gripped his chest was a feeling he had not felt in a long time. But one he did know well. Fear of watching everyone he knew and cared about wasting away if they could not secure water. Fear over what he might do if he ever lost the battle with his inner demon. Though that fear had subsided for some time, a distant and unwelcome memory now that it was before him. Almost a physical sensation. The scene before him when he reached the depths of the lair was horrifying. And he'd close his eyes, clenching them shut to try and dispel the images. He knew it was an illusion of sorts. He'd been warned that he'd be fighting his inner demons. He knew Bailey was not here, and certainly, his children were not yet born.
But the odor that filled the air persisted, taunting him with a reality that existed here at the very least. The roar was the final wake up call, his eyes opening, glowing red. Matching the monster before him, his own inner beast roaring inside answering the call of the manifestation before him. His right arm rippling as it morphed, the muscles bulging and bones cracking as it mirrored one of the arms of the monster before him.
"This future has no place in this world."
His Qi blade formed in his hand, the duty he felt for his people driving him toward this monster empowering him to reach into his heart for the blade while an aura of power erupted from around him. The oath he swore activating. He would now allow this future to come to pass. He held the monster at bay within him every day. Now he would conquer it outside of him.
"You serve Aurora and it's people, and you will never be allowed to harm them!"
Blake would launch himself at the beast, swinging at it's massive body with his blade! The thought of using the Dragon balls occured to him, but he decided against it. This was to be his test, which meant it was his battle, and his alone.

Blake: Tempered Heart - Blake's heart is tempered by thought and trust. Making decisive actions and choices has made the Blade of his Heart a curved long sword with four blades pointing their edges in cardinal directions coming together at the tip. Should he take action for others this blade adds +22 to his Def.
Guardian Oath: +5 Atk, +5 Def
Blakes Oath allows him to instantly change places with anyone he can see up to four times a thread. As long as 'Aurora' has a Happiness above 100. If Aurora has a Happiness and Safety above 200 he gets +15 Atk, +15 Def instead. His body switch also has unlimited uses.
Monsterous Claw - His right arm morphs and cracks into a monstrous claw that adds his energy to his attack stats while the transformation is +8 Def while active

The monster brought his own sword out, clashing with Blakes before his leg lifted and would kick Blake in the chest. No matter what he felt about an illusion, that smash lifted Blake and hurled him back to smash into the cave wall, shaking the mountain.
"The future is now- I took you, made you....I AM YOU!"
He roared again, Arms and fists clenched as the laser fired from his chest right at Blake, intent to blast the boy into oblivion.
Laser strength: 340
Stats: Equal to Blakes at all times.

Blake was kicked back painfully, the crystals forming to protect him as they always did as fire erupted over the monster. A moment before Blake would swap places with it so that it would be hit by its own chest cannon blast!

Living Crystal embodies these gloves and can sense danger on their own, rapidly expanding into jagged crystals to act as a shield, covering the arm and expanding where needed with the Def of 3/4ths his energy. Automatically used when needed 3 times per thread should an attack not be blocked, deflected, or dodged. 1/3
The corrupted ring of an Arc Angel seethes with the might of a Fallen Deity. Giving Blake access to a Corrupt Protection ability. Blake creates a barrier of Light around himself. Instead of protecting him every time he takes damage, the barrier explodes in the direction of the attack with 'Hellfire' doing Blake's 150% Def in dmg. Can be used three times per thread.

The monster was swapped, Raising an arm to take the blow head on. The arm was obliterated clean through the shoulder, the monsters size and mass being entirely different from Blakes. However, as though he counted on this happening, the monsters body bulged and grew, muscles tightening and increasing in size.
He lunged back and Blake would would attempt to punch him in the side of the head, blood leaking down his body from where his limb was lost, though his form was already starting to heal.

"Virgil. How is this monster manifested?"
He'd ask as he brought his blade up defensively, wincing in pain as a tail sprouted out from his tailbone. He'd spin around as the monster lunged at him, the bone blade on his tail seeking to cut off the arm of the monster attacking him again!
"You are not me. You are what a weaker me could have been."

Virgil responded quickly, clutching to Blakes shirt.
"There are Qi Crystals within these walls, feeding off your soul energy. You are manifesting it."
Blakes spin had the monster Screeching for two reasons- the loss of a second arm, and for the strength he would require here. For as the tail blade severed his limb the tail itself would be gripped, and his sword would cut Blakes tail off at the midway point. Rather than respond, the beast was down two limbs and so would attack further, using the tail as a flail to try and cut into Blakes shoulder with his own tail blade!
Whether it hit or not, he'd stab forward with the sword for Blakes midsection, whether the front or back mattered little.

He heard Virgil's words and would react accordingly. The best way to defeat it was to cut it off from its source. Which was apparently the Qi crystals in the walls. A potentially dangerous move, but so was trying to go into a battle of attrition with an apparition that had no need to survive the fight. When his tail was grabbed his body reacted on instinct as thoughts of Bailey and those back home came to mind. He felt the energy washing through his body, warm and calming even as his teeth gritted in pain, bones sprouting out and his muscles calcifying to protect him from the blade. The crystals spreading over his body to shield him while his body twisted to slam his blade into the beast's blade.
This may be a manifestation of the darkest impulses of his Demon. But it was not him. He was more than the demon within, and he had people counting on him. He had a future now, even if he didn't always think he would. The Demon was a test given to him by the land, and he would spend his whole life working to be better than it. He refused to fall here. With that resolve firmly planted in his heart he felt his flesh begin to boil before his own beam of energy would fire from his chest to try and punch through the monster and into the wall and the crystals that formed it. He'd already beaten his inner demon once. He'd do it again.

Bone Armor - Through a painful restructure of his cell's in creating a sub dermal armor. His muscles seem to tense into stone, shifting around and between each other like scales just under the skin. Sprouting like a battle skirt from his waist completes the changes increasing his Defense by 65% his energy stat.
Chest Canon - Blake's chest fires out a beam of concentrated energy at his opponent adding 125% of his energy stat to his attack for the blast. However, the attack deals 1/2 of his energy stat to himself.

The beast smirked as Blake fired, one hand gripping it's side where the blade left a very shallow cut.
He'd switch places with Blake, like Blake had done earlier, so now he was in the path of his own beam, in a similar fashion.

"You are half of what I am. I know your tricks and more."
His eyes reflected the light of the incoming blast coming toward him as an energy shield appeared on his crystal covered arm. He'd bring his shield up, sliding back against the blow with narrowed eyes and gritted teeth, refusing to blink and give in to this thing. His arm straining as it pushed against the force to push the beam just off to his side where it would slam into the wall as planned.
"We serve Aurora." He'd solemly say as blake Hellfire erupted around the demon, rebuking him for the harm he'd try to cause.

The damage blake unleashed mattered little, as through the smoke of the laser, his demon self would erupt, jaw clamping down on the real Blakes shoulder. Blake would feel intense pain as, despite his defense, the teeth would pierce like sharp pieces of ice. Blakes attack would rip apart the right half of the monsters body, but instead of blood, smoke started sifting up. Through the horrific agony, Blake would feel both halves of himself shaking in utter pain. Then he'd hear a voice in his head.
"Evil is still within you, Darkness lurkes...stray from your path but a little and you will fall into it, King."
The pain would suddenly be gone, as would the apparition. Blake would find himself alone and on his knees in the cave. His right arm would feel numb, and on his shoulder would be a giant bite scar from the attack.
In the corner, he'd find a crackling hole of darkness so black it was like it was from another reality. It sizzled, as though it were a tear, waiting for him to stick his hand inside.
OOC:
The Demon Mark: Anytime Blake uses his right arm, his attack his reduced by half. (Ability upgrades when Blake dies.)

Blake clenched his jaw tightly as the beast bit into him. The pain searing and ice cold. Unnatural but he was determined to see this through, to not back down no matter the cost. When the apparition vanished and left him with its words of warning he'd grunt and stand up. It was nothing he didn't already know. Nothing he didn't live with every day.
"Are you okay Virgil?"
He'd never seen the sprite so animated. He couldn't help but feel some pang of guilt, but they did what they had to do. His arm was numb, full of pins and needles lightly prickling at deadened nerves. He'd lift the arm and clench his fist, testing it and frowning. The bite was deeper than he thought to be this numb and weak feeling. But he would regenerate.
Stumbling his way to the crack, in reality, he'd reach his good arm into it, assuming this meant he had passed the test.

His hand would clench something circular, and once withdrawn, would find the Dragonball he so sought resting in his hand, warm from it's time in the beyond!

He pulled out the orb and breathed a sigh of relief. Tucking it into his bag he'd groan before reaching into a different pocket to pull out a teleportation crystal that would bring him back to Aurora where he could rest and recover. His quest finally complete.
