The ride was fast, fun, and...short. Eh, what's wha tyou get for carnival rides. When the rie stopped and the metal bar popped up, Chi was giggly with happiness from the ride until she heard what Aureus said. Her laughter halted in an exaggerated gasp.
"Did you just call me fat?!" She challenged, pushing him in the shouler. Grabbing her prize duck, her leapt from the carriage and began stalking off. "The nerve!"

Aureus knew she was just playing around, or at least he hoped so. Chihiro wasn't fat by any means, and he loved her stomach. Jumping out of the ride, he chased after her. "Hey, come on. You know I was kidding!" He said, picking her up at the waist and swinging her around. "I love your stomach."

As Aureus came up behind her and picked her up, she squealed, giggling as he swung her around. "Pffft. Fat stomach." She chided, jabbing him in the ribs playfully when he set her down. She then pinched the fabric in the front of his shirt and pulled him close, giving him a quick kiss.
"Now where are we off to? We have a whole carnival to explore."

The kiss Chi had given him was different than all their previous. It was like the night they had gotten back together, like she was claiming him as her's in a rough sort of way. Whatever it was, he liked it. Stunned for a moment, he muttered: "Well that was new..." Stunned for a few moments, he brain finally came up with an answer to her question. "Oh uhh...how 'bout a slower ride like the ferris wheel since we've just been on a fast one?"

"Mmm, sounds good. I'm still kind of dizzy." A silly grin crossed her face, and she took his hand again, ambling slowly toward the large lighted wheel. When they reached it, she let go of his hand and gave the conductor a ticket before sitting down on the ferris wheel seat, scooching over for Aureus to sit down.
Once they were seated, Chi's expression took a thoughtful turn. "The guys that run these rides are called conductors, right? Or maybe operators..?" It was a completely random question, but that's what most of their conversations were about. It kept things interesting.

The goofy smile Chi had on her face lit up the entire night. The Pillar couldn't help but smile in turn as they walked towards the next ride. Handing the operator a ticket, Aureus climbed into the seat next to his girlfriend.
The biggest appeal of this ride seemed to be the amazing view it provided. The city had an odd charm to it at night, when you could only see the lights from all the buildings and were able to forget all the things below them. After everyone had boarded, the ride started up.
Then a random question came outta nowhere from the black haired girl. "Hmm...I guess I never gave them a name before, but Operator makes sense," he replied, really thinking about it.

"Oh...okay." She answered simply, satisfied with his answer. She tipped her feet over the edge of the footrest experimentally before bringing them back in, snuggling into Aureus as the ride began to move.
One of her favorite things about the ferris wheel was that they stopped it each step of the way all the way to the top to load passengers on before making it go around on its circuit. Then again as they let passengers off and reloaded the seats. Riding it at night had it's wonders as well, watching all the lights grow smaller and smaller against the darkened ground below.
"It's like the sky has turned itself upside down...or even like its being reflected.." She mused, looking from the dark blue eye down to the lights below them as they rose higher and higher on the ferris wheel.

As Chi snuggled into his side, Aureus let out a deep sigh, a happy one. He was so happy with the situation, and content with his life at the moment. Staring off into the cityscape, his left thumb lightly brushed the dark haired girl's shoulder.
"Yeah, it's nice, and not just the light, but everything. Thanks," the teen replied contently, a smile glued to his face.
