She nods and sighs with it.
"We were on an assault mission and the base where you were was targeted by Prota soldiers. They used a weapon that destroyed the entire place, turned it to a wasteland or dirt. Impossible to grow food, scarce waters, and erased all life. We searched for a while, but you were assumed a lost casualty of war. It wasn't until Leon said you were attending Cabal Academy that we had any idea you survived."
She would fold her arms and her face scrunched into annoyance.
"He told us not to come to you. To stay in Lightning Country until you came. He shared pictures and stories with us."

There are parts he could agree with in that explanation, if he were more calm. As it is, Elias just latches on to what doesn't make sense.

She turns and walks over to the corpse that is Elias' dad. Lifting the rocks off his crushed skull. Placing a hand on him and the blood flows along the ground back into his head, which inflates and becomes like brand new before his eyes open and he sits up.
"What happened?" He asks.
"You died again. Mysteriously..." She responds
"We must find the assassin. They are becoming efficient at murder. Luckily you were here once again to fight them off." He rationalizes.
"Yes, you are right. However, Elias wishes to know why it matters to be human. As Leon wishes him to be. As we do." She says.
"Elias?"
He looks up spotting Elias and stands moving over.
"Elias... It is important to be Human. To care about others, to care about life. Beyond your own, because this care, this humanity draws out a need to keep it. As the philosophy Leon teaches the Dragon Core, or used to teach. Beyond Conflict promoting growth, true power comes from a need, not from a want. Just because you want to be stronger, doesn't mean you will. If you need to be stronger, well... You will find it, a well of true power."

Elias watches his father regenerate, or perhaps more accurately, be healed by his mother, completely reversing the wounds. He squints at the fact he's coming closer, taking a half step back.
"Is this true?"
He looks towards his mother.
"Power only comes from a need, not a desire? Or is it not the same for Titans?"

He at the time was just some Dragon Core soldier with wind Qi. But in that instance, to save me, he drew on the need for power and was able to not only match the Titan, but over power them. Because he cared for me, needed me to live."
She explains. Elias' dad beams with pride.
"So it's not just something to say... It is something I have witnessed."
