Scaled Restitution (Oni)

[Triton Augustus]

Thunderous noise would sound throughout the halls of the great structure Triton was in as his curled fingers struck the door. Many mainlanders called the building of many homes "dorms." 

"Mrs. Oni! Mrs. Oni!" his voice called. He held a certain book behind his backside so that his crimson friend would not catch sight of what it was.  For once she opened the entryway, he wished to reveal it to her himself. 

Merriment was with him. It had been many cycles since he last spoke with the tailed woman, but her presence he loved dearly. He was quite hopeful she had awakened, but not taken leave, for the sun had risen his thumb's length above the horizon.

The thunderous noise nearly leaped her from her skin and a yip to escape her throat. She was gripping some clothes she had in her hand freshly washed and finished folding... that is until she dropped half of them on the floor in her startle. She laid the rest on her bed and hopped to the door as she would hear a rather urgent voice call at her through the door.

She would fear the worst wondering what would be the matter of urgency she needed to be ready for. However, when the door flew open she was more so surprised to see...

"Triton??" He was positively beaming and registering this she took a deep breath to try an calm herself.

His gaiety revealed itself through a great smile. "Hello, madam! Forgive me for the intrusion, and for the time that has passed since we last spoke, but I have been searching with great earnest for a book that held the words and pictures that yours did, the one marred by my hand. And I am filled with joy to assure you," his words sat suspended in the air as sand thrown into water by a digging shrimp whilst he moved the book forth from his chest. "I have found it!!!" 

"It depicts many beasts of many kinds and tells of great stories!"

She was trying her best to take in the whole situation as he described and when he revealed the book of which he brought with such glee and searched for with immense fervor she gazed upon just exactly what it was he brought and almost laughed. Catching herself immediately her hands cupped her mouth while a smile would be apparent on her face. She tried to mask as if she was trying to contain her jubilation of his success.

"Oh Triton, You went through all that trouble." Just to get the wrong one but... "Ever since that day, just for me?" Really the notion was too sweet for words it was something that caused her cheeks to flush and her heart to leap. She was truly happy he made such an effort to the point she can't bear to tell him he got the wrong one. And she might actually bring harm to anyone to tell him the truth. It was too pure for words.

"But of course! Far be it from me to not fulfill my vows." Hesitation was in his speech before he continued, "I tell you, truly, it does not have numbers within its pages like yours. Nor does it speak of your kind, as you showed me that day. But the works of mainlanders are many, and I spoke to ample souls that knew not the picture my words tried to paint. May you forgive me if it does not please you, but you have my word that my efforts knew not a hindrance. Furthermore, my elf friend gave me assistance!" With timidity, his hands moved about, within and amongst themselves, in front of him.

She held the book, her beaming expression was never fading. She stuck in under her arm and grabbed both his hands.

"You did great, it means the world as tall as the mountains and as deep as the oceans in measure to me."

The smile returned to the scaled visage stronger than ever before. Her hands within his, his head nodded as he spoke, "My heart is gladdened and my yoke has been lifted."

Knowing not what her eyes saw before her, and how odd it may have been, Triton stood without word, his smile remaining.

She let go of his hands and would disappear into her dorm she left the door open and would ask him a question almost assuming he would follow her inside. "Since we last met I showed you about PT's have you grown accustomed to yours?"

She would set the book on her desk which was filled to the brim of books, Cabal public documents and research, the wall had a bullet board with a couple of picturea of people and places including her young ginger self and ginger father smiling with ice cream on their noses. The rest of her room was... Fairly clean. Stacks of books official or not in what appeared to be in no order. Lavender bed spread was neatly made asside from the unfinished laundry that piled the middle of it and trailed to the floor where she dropped a few.

"Ah, yes, the.. P..T.. Well truly I have not. I confess that I came not only to give but to receive," Triton entering her abode. Pleasant, it was. Her presence was one that gave peace. Without query, the islander took rest upon her day bed. Upon placing the device upon the nearest surface, he detached a pair of gauntlets from his side. "If you may be so kind, I would appreciate greatly assistance with the P.T. device, as well as gauntlets given to me by a metal man."

"Ah." she would be picking up thw unfolded pile of clothes and tosses them in a near by chair. "Let me see the gloves first." while they were in his hand presented to her she would seems them and make note of certain things out loud.

"Made by Blaze Industries... They have what looks to be a... Oh nevermind... So the have a conductor with in them that channels your Qi to convert it into high voltage energy. Like a lightning strike in a powerful storm when you punch."

she made a fist and tapped him on the arm and opened her fist after the impact making a zapping onomatopoeic to give him a visual.

"That ability remains constant I believe as long as you wear it... Still Blaze liked his multi-functional gadgets... And there is this switch here..." she would take one out of his hand and flip the switch instantly they changed as the metal plating moved and what looked to be a transfer in the conductive medium Blaze tech would use here. "Ah! A defensive purpose... The fact you have to be quick enough to flip it when you are about to block will be quite an extra step and while possible.. It's not convenient or optimal for combat. I wonder if it was just a prototype? If not it should go out of circulation pretty quickly, Blaze tech is always pumping out just hundreds of ideas and only a few really stick. Still for an inventor it was a stellar job opportunity... And I am rambling... Anyway this can be an incredibly useful item. I would take advantage of it until you get something better or can upgrade it."

Wonder filled Triton's eyes at her display of the power held within the pieces. "My friend, you mean to say that the power within the mighty storms, the flashes of light delivered by the gods, can be delivered with my fists?" With his fingers, the islander examined the gauntlets with care as he awaited her reply.

"Yeah!" she nodded matching his excitement. "You deliver an attack as if you were tossed right out of the hands of Zeus and forged by Hephaestus' grand hammer!"

[Triton Augustus]

With merriment Triton searched around him. "May I strike something here to truly witness their might?" A child upon the dawn of a day of celebration held not the gaiety stirred within their eyes that he so held.

"Nooope!" het hands could not have come up faster.

"Outside please." she grabbed an arm and twirled him around and placed hands on his back to guide him out the door. "A tree, test dummy, shoot... I'll let you take one strike to me but..." she started laughing. "Nooot in my room."

[Triton Augustus]

Laughter could be heard in the halls. "Ah yes, of course. Come!" Triton stepped with haste to a nearby tree and fastened the gauntlet to his hand.

"Ready yourself Miss Oni!" With great strength, the islander struck the tree, energy erupting from the gauntlets around his fist.

"Marvellous!" the scaled man gawked at the power he held.
