Roz stood out on the training field where the battle mages tended to congregate Sheathing her sword, she looked at the two that she had sparred against, feeling some of hte fatigue as she'd learned to do more with abilities that weren't even her own. Not really. She gave the mages a wave and farewell before turning her attention elsewhere.
'So that was new.' Very new. Arihman had fused with her over a year ago and it was the first time she'd seen any other sort of ability come from an attack. Or felt it, for that matter. It was painful at first, but also just unusual. She'd managed to turn one of hte mages to fight the other while on her side instead of focusing on the elemental attacks.
'I'm assuming that's your doing?' She knew her Siren companion could enchant foes for her, but the sprite had been playing a different song during the fight.

Ari would be silent for a little bit.
"In a way. As your body gets used to mine, our energies become more intertwined. It's not originally a power of mine I'd say, but some sort of joining of your energy and mine."

Roz took a moment to be silent as she processed that. They'd been a pair for over a year now, log enough for her body to get accustomed to another being, and one that could use qi where she couldn't. She was surprised she hadn't been asked about it by Preston or one of the other mages yet; not that she was complaining.
'What was yours like?' Wouldn't hurt to know ahead of time. It wasn't something they normally touched on; she figured she'd have the ability to add wind to her attack and be minus an eye for the rest of her life, and nothing more.

Ari chuckles.
"My energy is just wind. Air basically. pushing it, pulling it, compressing it, moving it."

"I'll try to avoid airhead jokes for both of us." She chuckled, considering what Ahriman said of his own ability. Wind in the sails would be nice, and it sounded like he had control of it, but it was hard to imagine him in the cove she'd found him in. But she did have ideas.
She also kind of wanted to try seeing what she could do, but she held off on that just ye.
"Do you remember what happened? Last I knew, people usually went to an afterlife when they died." She paused for a moment before adding, "Assuming you did actually die."

"Much appreciated!"
He'd laugh at the airhead comment before thinking on her question.
"I think I died. I remember latching to a piece of my ship and drifting for days. Then slowly regaining a sense of the world from the blackness. Forgetting myself over time as my only will in life was to find someone to latch onto. Stuck in my spot until you came along. Then my memories starting coming back."

She rinned a little at the laugh, the expression fading as Ari explained what he remembered. Lost at sea after a shipwreck, lost in an endless blue to darkness. Somehow remaining himself, a strong focus and need for one thing. As much as she loved the freedom of the sea, it also had moments where you were alone. Every time you went out, you knew it could happen.
Two years together didn't meant it wasn't a touchy subject still, but then, he'd been there for some of her hard times before Cabal. The good times, too.
"Good for both of us I found you, then," she mused. So memories came back for him, and they were in sync enough now that she could develop more abilities.
"Are they clear memories, then?" She drew her blade and turned her focus on one of the training dummies. She hoped they were. Fragments here and there would be frustrating. "or any rush of them recently?"

"I wouldn't say clear, but it isn't fragmented. Just slightly distant."

"Another life." Part of who he was, but not the thought that held him. It was all theory in her own mind, but she found herself nodding at the clarification.
"Do you remember the ship name?" She wasn't really sure how to address that. Did she make sure his family was okay? Keep going as they were?

"I remember it was something dumb. Like Rose's Deepest Gale, or something. Not catchy at all."

"That's one hell of a mouthful." Definitely not catchy. She chuckled and shook her head, half expecting him to admit he knew who made the name.
"Your ship then, or someone else's?"

"I don't believe it started as my ship. Pretty sure it was mine in the end though."
He pondered this.
"Likely won it gambling."

She whistled softly.
"Playing with big stakes there, friend." Gambling away a ship? The other person had to be desperate. Or cursed.
"...it wasn't cursed, was it?" She coudln't hold the humor from her voice, not completely. "The ship."

"Oh geeze, I hope not.... It would explain the moaning in the middle of the night. Also why they accepted the bet when all I had was a row boat."

... Roz's brows raise a little higher as she paused and considered the training dummy.
"Please tell me you at least checked the boat."
