Checking behind her, Chi slowed down a bit so's not to look panicked, but simply out for a jog on her way to school. Many kids did that, leisurely run to school. There was nothing out of the ordinary about that. She could walk, if she wanted to, but frankly, she didn't. There was something she didn't like about holding onto Mr. Kaluskov's clandestine possessions that unnerved her a bit. What did they mean? Did anyone else but him have the decoder? She didn't want to that that chance..
One and a half blocks to go, she tossed fifty cents from her pocket to the fresh produce vender and grabbed an apple for breakfast, only briefly slowing up to do so before continuing her jog.

Fifty cents?! For an apple?! This girl was cheap! The vendor wasn't a happy person, but wasn't about to chase her. That's the great thing about fat fruit vendors. She'd be good to go from there on out. Nothing really for her to get blown away by, or ambushed by. There weren't any land mines where you had to be careful of your step in the middle of a city. There weren't any snipers waiting to blow just anyone away.
Nothing like Valekin's home country.
He was watching her of course. Through the scope of a sniper rifle. If she was caught, he could blow her away. But it didn't look like she was going to be caught. Besides, there wasn't even a bullet in the chamber of the rifle. He only had three bullets in the magazine to begin with. Two for her heart, one for her head. Only way to be sure.

[ooc: oh shit, man...*looks for target on self, gulp*]
She reached the school just as the tone rang for homeroom. Chihiro let out a sigh of relief, steps slowing up to match the pace of the other students filing into the school. She hid her hands in her pockets, as someone was bound to notice the fact that they were covered in dirt. At the first chance she got, she ducked into the girls room, cleaning off her hands and changing her jeans that were a little dirty as well from kneeling on the ground.
She folded up her jeans and placed them on the bottom of her backpack over the folder of papers she had fetched. She couldn't go to see Jason King right now or she'd be late for class, but luckily she had a free period at the beginning of the day, and she could seek him out to deliver the papers.
