Art of Artifacts (Sectos)

[The Guardian]

The crystal pulsated with an energy unlike any that he'd ever felt before. He could feel it take his energy greedily, but also feel it pushing its own energy into him. The power seemed to flow through the crystal into every crystal around him. Tendrils of darkness reaching out from the crystal and his own body to the whole exhibit. The runes flew into the crystals, one by one shattering them as they failed to contain the torrent of energy that was rushing into them. His body battering from the shattering crystals.

The Crystal in his hand continued to cycle between taking his energy and pushing its own back into him, fighting for control.

"I don't think so!"

Sectos knew he could do it, he had to. He was going to force this crystal to take everything back and everything around them. He would trap this whole museum in this crystal if he could, but the thing was flowing like a heart beat with give and take, it wanted to take control of him. The pain from breaking crystals was pretty harsh, but as soon as he felt the flow move to take he would try to use his energy to change the crystal, gripping at the creature at his stomach and ripping it out he would slam it into the crystal and push all of his energy all at once through the creature and into the crystal.

"claudendum resistens, rigescunt indutae omnes tenebrae!"

If he had to he would even tap into the power of his very life force, he would halt this madness.

He wouldn't need to rip anything out of his body as the runes were already being sucked into the exploding crystals. He could continue to push more of himself into the crystal, and it would drink greedily of the energy and lifeforce offered it. He could feel himself growing weaker, but the sounds of chaos have stopped. The crystal would continue to drink of his energy and life force, pulling it out of him by force until he was nearly to the point of passing out, then it would stop. As if it had its fill.

He could feel the power inside of the crystal. Something different. Something special.

Sectos would collapse to his knee's holding the crystal, breathing heavy. Using his shirt to quickly gather up some ink to investigate maybe in Ayatlan. This was beyond his personal expertise. He really needed to rest tho, he felt this could have ended much worse than it did, and it probably could have ended much better than it did.

"I don't like being called Demon Spawn..."

The ink was slowly fading away, but he managed to mop some up on his shirt before it was gone. The cut on his hand and on the rest of his body from the crystals would be bleeding normal blood.

And other than the dead body in the room with him he'd find himself alone in this room. Those that survived were more or less dazed and confused, trying to make sense of what had happened, and the whole museum was trashed. Other than the crystal in his hand, the exhibits were missing or in the case of the artwork, destroyed.

Sectos would tuck away the Crystal, he obviously needed to say something about this to someone, but him being involved would cause someone to look more into Sectos Sempra. That could be bad, he needed to leave while everyone was out of it. For good measure he would also take the tome from before. It may be void, but it's... Overly old binding had to have some clues to this whole thing.

Beyond that he was leaving.
