"I can still see you, yes, however I can also see your Qi at work and can tell that you are indeed supposed to be hidden. Interesting. I might request something of you before we depart. But we'll get to that later. And to answer your question, I was captured by Lord Strike. He brainwashed and experimented on me, and made me loyal to him. This territory was my first test and show of allegiance to him. He sent me here by myself to destroy the creatures and bandits that lived here, and claim the land for Prota. I did so, and I erected a Kingdom. As thanks he let me continue to rule it."
He leaned back in his seat.
"How have you come to have Prota experimentation but are not loyal to Prota?"

"I... I barely know them at all. Other than Strike is one of the most powerful beings known and the rumors tell of some incredibly horrible tales. But personally, I am indifferent I suppose." She was thinking back on some mysterious nights where she woke up not remembering much one in particularly strange one was when she woke with the crystal in her neck. It wasn't like it happened overnight either she missed what seemed to be almost a week before that.
She looked at him. "Are ya still brainwashed an' their control?"

She breathed a sigh of relief. That whole string of questions made her nervous, that didn't quite go away while she now knows more of these new things.
She chuckled at his next question hard enough that the babe stirred and she calmed and quieted herself more. "Might be the worst possible question to ask me. A if I look like someone who'd truly understand what ideal livin' be. Though if I took a gander... Safe for one thin'." She thought about all the spoiled snot noses entitled brats had that she didn't. "A well built home, me earnin' a good keep, feedin' us with three meals a day an' some, give h'im some right education. I am humble, used to livin' out of one bag for all me thin's... Though my shoulders will get tired eventually while I will be adding his... I truly don't want 'im to know me life, I always been bitterly jealous of those with more."

"Ya want me for somethin' an' honestly either way this game goes one thin' I 'ave come to accept is that the only thin' better than power is to 'ave powerful allies. So to answer yar question... If ya 'ave use of me I be willin' to work for ya in Yar kingdom."
"Are ya willin' to provide me boy and I with all that I mentioned in the previous answer I gave..." She raised a finger "With a starting deal that I don't immediately decide to align myself under Yar flag until we further trust one another? Ya feel comfortable to me but I can tell Yar playing Yar cards well and I have trouble trusting most lots."
He could restrain her and take all she had no doubt. But while he is edging her to come to him she wonders if he'll come 50%-50% rather than budge the 70%-30% this is beginning to feel like. She had Derik to think about and if she was going to stay a while she didn't want to be trapped.

And I've even have means of having Derik cared for when you are out working for me. Which, of course will be covert as well. As for trust I'd prefer it if you and I came to trust each other naturally as well. And while you are not working for me explicitly, you are free to come and go as you please, though if you leave my territory you will be watched to guarantee you do not share my secrets. This includes helping you if you are in danger, or silencing you, if rescue is impossible. Do you consent to these terms?"

"My turn to answer yar question with a question.... In the even that I am silenced, while I dislike the idea at all I understand it's need in the agreement, what might become of Derik? I have no family to me knowledge to pass 'im. I understand if an orphanage be his fate should I meet mine own demise, just let it be a good one, one that cares for it's children at the very least."
