The Path Below (event)

It hasn't been that long since the attack on the united leaders of the leading territories, and as such, agents from every alliance have been watching carefully for any signs of further aggression.

As such, when two villages in the territory numbered 250 go dark, and any attempt to investigate has led to the disappearance of said investigators, it should come as no surprise that the territory has pleaded for aid from Cabal.

Any investigating parties find themselves down the road from the first village, which from a distance, does not seem to be out of the ordinary. There's no sign of damage or battle, but there are also no signs of the inhabitants either.

[Donovan]

Donovan seems to be the first to arrive. He takes a quick look and sighs.

"At least this isn't as bad as the last village I visited..."

He looks around!

[Stigma Wyatt]

Stigma, doing better on her own due to her nerves, would quietly start walking ahead to get to the village. She's ever careful about her surroundings.

Closer inspection of the village reveals small things that stick out. A front door hangs lazily open. A cart of fruit stands abandoned, it’s contents mouldy and rotten.

The streets look empty still, though there is the soft sound of footsteps up ahead.

[Donovan]

Donovan had just finished checking out the fruit cart. There was definitely nothing salvageable here. Gross. That's when he saw Stigma! He raised his arm to wave at her but stopped he heard the footsteps. Turning to where they were coming from he'd attempt to see who or what was walking towards them.

"Yo! Who's there?!"

[Stigma Wyatt]

So it looked abandoned for at least a little while...

She'd give a slight jump as Donovan called out to an unknown, Stigma turning to look towards where the footsteps had been heard. If it was something dangerous, perhaps it would be prudent to be the first one to make contact, all things considered. She'd walk forward to meet the noise down the path.

[Thorn Wyatt]

The footsteps abruptly stop.

Then start again, no longer soft, but regular, somewhat hurried steps heading towards them.

After a moment, this man steps around the corner of one of the houses, hefting the axe onto his shoulder. He doesn't say anything, but the glare in his eyes suggests ill-intentions.

"He looks hostile."

Thorn points out, clearly having been there the entire time.

[Donovan]

Donovan just plants his feet and stares the man done his fist on his hips.

"Who are you? And what are you doing here?"

[Stigma Wyatt]

"Mm." Stigma would nod at Thorn's statement, pulling out her blade in preparation for a fight.

Polite as she is, however, she lets Donovan attempt to speak with the man, first.

[Thorn Wyatt]

The man says nothing.

Instead, he just swipes his axe straight at Donovan without hesitation!

Donovan reaches up with his robotic arm and catches the axe blade!

"Hey! I asked you a question!"

He would say punching the man in the chest with his other hand!

[Stigma Wyatt]

Stigma crouches as she approaches the two. If Donovan's punch ends up pushing the man back, she would sweep her foot for his legs to trip him.

[Thorn Wyatt]

The man looks alarmed at the fact his axe is stopped, and the blow to the chest causes him to stumble, before falling from Stigma's sweep! He struggles to stand up.

Another man, completely identical to the first, steps around another building. He's dressed exactly the same, and wielding the same axe.

[Donovan]

"Seriously? Another one?"

If Donovan still had the axe in his hand he would throw it at the new arrival, if he didn't then he would grab the nearest hefty item, hopefully a brick or heavy pot.

[Stigma Wyatt]

With Donovan taking care of the twin, Stigma would move to sit on top of the initial threat, forcing him back down by putting a hand to his neck and pushing.

"Who are you?"
