[Valerian Blackburn]

Valerian is currently hanging out in front of Cabal's dormitories, squinting at what he assumes to be some sort of training program that other students are taking part in, but he has no interest in.

There was way too many attitudes from the boys in that one. Too aggressive. No bueno.

Thats when he would notice both the barracks buildings were starting to completely evacuate. People rushing to put on their equipment, weapons, or even just finishing putting on their regular clothes. Everyone has a shocked look on their face, pale, maybe even scared. SOMETHING is going down, something unusual, unprepared, and possibly dangerous.

Val quickly wipes himself off, making sure he's nice and ready before looking around, trying to figure out where the commotion is happening.

If nothing else, he wants to see what the Cabal forces would do to any such dangerous situation.

Not everyone was going the same direction. Though it wouldn't matter as a uniformed woman approached him.

"Valerian Blackburn... Lord Blackburn, I am Rem Greenwood. Adept with Cabal's regular military. I need you to come with me to the Command Office."

Val's eyes widen, and so does his smile.

"Of course. Lead the way, miss Greenwood. And please, call me Val."

[Zack Asiv]

She doesn't meet his gaze and simply nods.

"When we have that luxury... Lord Blackburn."

She was tense as she led him to the command office in the main building. Inside Victor Kaar, Shino Yuy, and Krane Asiv. Two instructors of Commander rank and the Command Captain himself.

"Lord Blackburn please sit."

Krane would offer, and when he did.

"We have received a messenger you may know."

And with that a man would emerge from the next room Val would recognize as the head Royal Guard for his family, Ray. For an emotionless body guard and security professional Val would catch Ray giving him pointers on woman who may be a little more sensitive to a little sweet talk to help Val with his game. He would approach and Val could see it. Being around Royal Guards his whole life he could tell the small movements and nuances that gave away how they felt. He was sad.

"Val, for the last seven hours your families appointed land Blackwater has been laid siege by an unknown force. Zekunft has sent for aid and Cabal is deploying it's regular army, but if it is too late for your family to make it out alive it is my duty to keep you from harm until this conflict has been dealt with."

Weird.

Still, Valerian walks along with her, and is very... very confused to see all these important people. He sits when asked, frowning thoughtfully, but sits up in his seat when Ray steps in from the next room.

"...what?"

It takes a few seconds for the words to sink in, but after that, Valerian shoots to his feet.

"Who's attacking? What do you mean if it's too late?!"

Without even waiting for answers to these questions, he starts heading for the door.

Ray nearly appears in front of Val to keep him from trying to leave, while Krane speaks up.

"Reports say they are equipped like soldiers from the great war and we assume it has something to do with Project Judgement. Orders from Zekunft and a request from Lady Angelonia is to keep you safe. If it were up to me I'd have you on the front lines as an expert in the area. I assure you the Royal Guards that could be spared are already acting and the first wave of Cabal Regulars is already on the way. Please try to remain calm."

Valerian looks downwards towards the floor.

"...But I can't just... do nothing. It's my home. My family. My people."

[Zack Asiv]

"You won't."

Shino finally spoke up.

"I'll take you to a rear camp in a support position. That way you aren't in the thick of it, your body guard can come along, and you can give everyone information that might be needed and accept evacuee's for transport to safety. Account for your people, they will see you safe and hope will grow."

Everyone looks at the blue haired guy.

"He can be the hero his people need. While staying safe."

[Valerian Blackburn]

Val turns to look at him as well, and gives him a small smile.

"...I'll be happy to just be able to help. I don't need to be a hero. But... thank you."

[Zack Asiv]

Shino would give a thumbs up.

"Then Trainee, get ready, grab your gear and meet back here."

Krane would say and Ray would step aside to follow Val out.

Val basically breaks into a run, heading out from the office.

He's trying very hard to hide the anguish in his face, even in the presence of someone he trusts so much.

Ray would be able to keep up, going along for the ride.

"Ray..."

Val says softly, still running.

"...what do you think their chances are...?"
