Wait, he called her by her first name. But it surely couldn't be for formality's sake. She blinked a couple of times, her silence allowing him to continue uninterrupted.

"I see," was the only reply she could manage. She hadn't thought of it that way before. Or thought that someone else would.

Was it really though? It left her uncomfortable, like he still had one hand behind his back while he talked about a fair trade. For a moment, the redhead could only study the other mage. It was tempting to ask him other things, mention the other mages she'd come across, but being a blood mage was hardly braging rights back home, and they were hardly the only mages available from Ayatlan.
