"And what are you will do for this power? What are you willing to sacrifice?"

She thought back through all she had. Her brother who seems to want to do good, a Mother and Father who love each other more than anything else in the world, friends who have big dreams... "If I must wash my hands of everything I have and all that I am to Save Blood... I will. For even my life can be but another drop of blood for the king to wield adding to his power.

Alysa keeps her composure.
"And are you willing to follow orders, without question, to the letter, no matter what they may be or how you feel about them?"

"Without a doubt, Yes." That didn't seem like a question she should draw out all long and winded.

Alysa sucked air through her teeth, as she shook her head slightly pacing away from Dime.
"That... is not a good answer."
Dexter to would lower his head, and even despite not being able to see his face, Dime could definitely see he was disappointed.

Her heart grew cold and so did her limbs. She was confused and a bit shook wondering if it was over. Dexter's expression didn't seem to help the matter.
"If it isn't... Then..." Why not teach her otherwise? How would she have known? All of this and it wasn't something they were looking for? From the Grand Masters's previous threat, she would be unwilling to ask her questions. "My Choices are my own, I'd follow orders because I want to. I am not so naive to think all orders are made with good intentions, so what can I do in those situations? Think, Asses, and Act accordingly. I know I mentioned I am loyal and I am willing to fall in line with those like myself until I have earned more but I am not a Drone, a Pawn, or Fodder." She was a General in a past life for a reason and like hell, she did it by blindly following every order given.

"Hmmm..."
Alysa would run her chin.
"Do you understand why absolute unquestioning loyalty is bad?"

"I suppose I can think of a few reasons. Even if it became known that my own brother would lead a rebellion to kill the King and take the throne and I was ordered to suppress him... I would do it because I see that as a criminal act of terrorism brother or not. However, if there was no proof and you gave such an order or even the King... Yes even if the King gave such an order without showing me the proof of his claims... I would likely be exiled or killed for refusing and I wouldn't have regrets." Just a shattered heart if that became her reality.
"Let me correct my earlier statement..." She paused. "I would follow orders and not ask questions given that I have the proper and viable information to complete the task I am given. To be entrusted with a duty is an honor but to deliver truth is justice."

Alysa would let out a long sigh.
"I guess that is the best I can do with a Soldier."
She would strut back to Dime.
"Let me explain. For us leadership isn't obtained by rank or power. But knowledge. The more you know the wiser you are the higher up you go and the more 'power' and respect you hold. However, when we issue commands to our underlings, we encourage the underlings to ask and to wonder. This is how one learns, and this also helps prevent those that would cause disorder to do so. Blindly following someone is the way of a soldier. Not a mage. Understood?"

She gave weight to the Grand Masters words and really took them to heart. A sigh of relief escaped her lips as she looked at the Grand Master. "I believe I do understand If you accept me I will from then on be a Mage first and foremost."

"Good."
She would look Dome directly in the eyes.
"Now. Tell me, one last time. Are you sure you wish to travel the Path of the Blood Mage?"

Dime thought back to the feeling she had running the Drill course. It felt so distant now... Such a silly stream of thoughts of her looking for strength. Strength came in different forms and she had a gut feeling she would find her own and that was enough for her.
"I am sure."

Alysa would smile. "Then, we shall initate you." She would snap her fingers and from the darkness Men wearing masks and robes, and Women wearing dresses and black veils that covered their faces. All would begin chanting and Dime could FEEL the power on the air. The very ground beneath her feet tremored slightly. "Dime Price, on this day you present yourself to us and our order. From this day forward do you pledge yourself towards the pursuit of knowledge, so that you may gain power, for the purpose of protecting our Kingdom and our King?"

She felt familiar here at this moment the powerful energy of voices united in prayers and sharing energy under one hope, belief, and dream.
When the Grand Master asked her once more of the Oath she was about to take Dime knew right then more than ever this was the path she wanted to walk.
"I do."

Alysa would whisper something as she held out her hand in the air to her side, but what Dime couldn't tell as the chanting seemed to grow louder, and become more and more ethereal. However in Alysa's hand would appear a gleaming blood red staff.
"Do you swear to uphold our tenets, to keep our secrets, and to improve us as a whole as we improve you?!"
She said louder now to be heard over the chanting.
