Kaia would indeed look, gritting her teeth before starting to yell at the crowd.

"The hell you looking-?!"

But would quickly shut up with Cain's mom showed up. While not her own parent, Kaia apparently listened to Mrs Rhamos just as much as her own.

Without being made to, Kaia would also bow her head.

[Joy]

Joy tensed, turning to the guard in preparation for a fight, but instead the sight of a familiar face whispering in the man's ear meant the girl got a level stare, instead.

"Even a Dragon's guards are soft; they're taking orders from a child," she remarked at Pride, looking at Soni as she addressed the girl who had the ability to change the guard's mind.

"IS this your way of making it up to me?"

[Pride]

Pride would just snort and continue upstairs.

This place was something else. Yet another example of the oddities of the numbered. Sometimes he wondered if they were even the same species with how everything about them just seemed so alien.

[Soni Vox]

Soni had a face that could only be described as disgusted confusion, the kind of face one has when one thinks of unkind titles to give to a particular other person, such as the masked girl did now. Aside from that, she had no words.

Soni would wait until the other two got to the top of the stairs and walked off before she would reach the top of them herself and look around to see what she could see.

The man would bow.

"Ramses Gaspare, at your service Madam Rhamos. I had to intrude as your son was making a scene on the dance floor that was disrupting the other guests. He was about to have himself, you, and his friends here thrown out."

Ramses would say to the woman that showed herself to be Cain's mother.

Upstairs Pride and Joy seemed to have freedom to approach the Balcony were the Statue of Leon was located. Especially so since Soni, in an effort to get away from Pride and Joy, walked right into the middle of the VIP's everyone was staring at her. Save for Malice, who seemed to he asleep...

"And who might you be, young lady?"

She would hear Rai say. He was now standing arms folded staring at her.

[Soni Vox]

With her body being clothed in gazes, the world around her seemed to empty itself of sound. Whether this was a physical fact or a mental illusion was hard to tell, nor an important matter in the moment. 

A proverbial rock was thrown into the glass of silence, however, and the shattering sent Soni into a jump. Pain shot through her chest from her bone costume moving from it, and her shoulder was very unhappy with her sudden move. Moreover, her veins ran with snow and made her skin much paler for it. 

After a pained "Mmmm..." that slipped out from her lips-pressed grimace, she turned to face the...showy.. man head on. 

Just... act casual... she advised herself. The less suspiciously one acted, the less suspicions would be raised, yes? 

"Soni Vox," she would state simply, with a subtly terrified confidence. Following the answer, she would find the most determination and authority she could muster to display as she attempted to walk off...elsewhere

[Pride]

Pride would walk around the Dragon statue, eyeing it.

"You know who this is supposed to be right Sis?"

He had a devilish gleam in his eyes.

[Joy]

Joy followed her brother's lead, looking over the statue with a critical eye.

"One of the Dragons." She looked over the figure once more, eyes resting on teh statue's face. "The Lightning Dragon." Even their little village knew who they were. She glanced at Pride, a mix of caution and curiosity in her eyes. His plans tended to go one way or another, good or bad.

[Cain Rhamos]

"OH NO HE ISN'T!"

Cain's mother immediately smacks the back of his head, and he immediately flinches back from her.

"YOU ARE NOT RUINING THE FIRST EVENING I'VE HAD OUTSIDE THE VILLAGE IN TWENTY YEARS! NOW APOLOGIZE!"

"But-"

The dangerous flash of her eyes causes Cain to immediately stop that train of thought.

"Uh.... sorry..."

Kaia's eyes shift side to side, and she starts to back away from the scene, eager to get away from this mess.

But she walks back into her father's looming figure.

"Were you going somewhere, Kaia?" he'd ask, eerily calm as usual.

"N...no...I uh."

She'd curse under her breath and look up at the man.

"...Sorry."

They were watching the whole time, and they act like what Ramses was saying be a surprise to save face. or so Avice would think how rediculous these parents seemed to be to her. As one who has no cause or vote on how parents should act she'd hold her tongue and face away from the scene frankly it made her sick.

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

Ramses would stand up straight and place his hands behind his back.

"Hmph. Your apologies lack sincerity... yet you are both still just children. I will let it slide this time as no harm has befallen anyone. But know this. You will recieve no more warnings."

With that Ramses would turn and walk away.

As Soni tried to step away she would find her feet were sealed to the floor.

"Well, Miss Soni Vox, for what reason did you come up here?"

[Avice Locke]

She would be finished with these two as Ramses turned away. What a hassle that turned out to be. She shook her head but decided not to dwell on it instead she would roam the floor a bit more wondering what excitement might befell her next.

She didn't think she was so extravagantly dressed that she would do well in the costume contest so she'd likely not enter. A quick trip for some drinks were in order.

Oh wait... Yeah she couldn't drink and leave it up to chance for Derik's next feeding... High metabolism or not, wives tales or not, something's were just not worth the risk.

She grunted in disappointment and frustration.

She took to a spot near the edge of the dance floor and looked around; the dancing, conversing, the balcony, the VIPs... What was going on up there?

[Kaia Galanos]

Reid would squeeze his daughter's shoulder a bit a sigh.

"Stay out of trouble."

In his attempt to let Kaia and Cain no longer be forced into that horrendous thing they called dancing, Reid would try to lead the rest of the parents somewhere else to mingle.

Kaia would watch until her parents disappeared into the crowds before turning to Cain angrily.

"Way to fucking go, genius!" she'd snap at him, taking care to keep her voice down. "If you didn't drag me around like a gorilla, this wouldn't have happened!"

Time seemed to slow for a moment, the voices in his head all speaking in unison for a single instant. He felt the power radiating from the statue as he examined it. His eye glowing red, the small movements of breathing. He was barely aware of his hand moving up to point at the statue's back. The power didn't build in him, it surged, the twisting vortex of his Mother's gift, his Mother's curse poured out of every atom of his body at once.

"Correct. And now I know who needed the masked aid."

Death was something that came for everyone and everything. Some lives were short, here and there in an instant. Others like the sun that illuminated their world lasted beyond a time that was comprehensible to him. But even with the star, he could see it's ending. He could feel it's waning power on skin that had not been born yet. But the man before him stretched beyond the darkness, the cursed Dragon. To be cursed with life without end was a crueler fate than the one the voices whispered for him, but he was determined to liftthat curse.

Pride mustered everything he had into his Mother's gift of life, to bring the Dragon before him the gift of death with a brilliant blast of all elements and none. Of the heat of creation and the cold of the end.
