Protaween Masquerade! (Event)

[Kaia Galanos]

Her confusion at the scenery change lasts but a second as her instincts suddenly kick in. She spared Cain barely a glance before the word GO was called, and the girl would suddenly dash down the course.

She'd been through this many times in the past. She's going to add another win to her record, naturally.

[Cain Rhamos]

Cain is momentarily surprised by the change in scenery, but the sudden dash from Kaia sprinting away spurs him into motion, chasing after her.

He refuses to lose again.

[Avice Locke]

She wondered what transpired after the masquerade that knocked them so hard to send her to the hospital. Wondered if it reached to Derik as well she wanted to know what happened to him.

Another attack?

She tried to mutter a curse under her breath imagining the horrid chaos that leveled that city but when she couldn't she thought it might be one of her injuries.

She would go to the door of her room to try and get out and find someone to talk to.

[Pride]

The first instinct he felt was fear, his home was on fire, but something was wrong. The sudden scene change, the lack of lightning Dragon. That could be explained by some kind of weird magic. But the presence inside of him. The monster whom he shared his heart, mind, and soul was not there. The lack of that presence inside of him stopped his feet from carrying him forward. If the monster wasn't there, it meant one thing and one thing only.

"I'm not here..."

Pride would sit down, fold his legs under him and close his eyes. Breathing in deeply and expanding his senses outside of himself. Trying to probe whatever this was, illusion or dream, test or trick.

What... where-am i...? Soni thought as her eyes slowly came to an open. The sudden change dazed her ability to comprehend for awhile, but it came back. And she comprehended

Everything. 

Soni began to recognize more and more of the room. Her heart began racing faster and faster. She suddenly sat up, and tried shuffling back as much as she could. Her blood felt like it was boiling her from the inside out, especially in her face. Her back hit the wall, but she kept pushing against her bed. She began uttering to herself "Nononononono," but she realized nothing was coming out. No voice. No sound. Only silence. 

Before she realized it tears began streaming down her face. Her head was shaking violently and she couldn't stop shaking. She wanted to just shake herself out. She wanted to leave her body. She wanted to leave existence. But she could do nothing. 

The little girl, who had ended up in the fetal position, fell over on her side and did nothing but sob. She couldn't stop it. It was uncontrollable. She wanted to scream it all away. She couldn't breath, she couldn't think, she couldn't feel. She couldn't feel her own fingernails digging into her shoulders. She felt like nothing but a shivering ball of pain, fear, weakness, and helplessness. She had no idea how to breath anymore, and her heart wouldn't stop. All she wanted anything to do was stop. Her chest began hurting from everything in her crashing into each other inside her. If her qi wasn't controlled, pressure waves of no particular sound would be rushing out from her, getting more and more intense.

[Joy]

Joy stopped at the sudden darkness, straining to hear any sound that might indicate what happened, and who had taken her sight from her. She felt the growl in her chest and felt it rumble as the monster within agreed without words. Even the feeling of her bones seemed far away, the strange sensation in her palm growing distant as the darkness thickened.

Then the crackling of flames could be heard, screams in the distance as light suddenly filled her vision Nothing bright, holy, or sunny, bu the destructive flickering of fire as the familiar sight of her village burned to the ground around her. Her heart stopped at the sight of the familiar pace, pain searing her chest as she felt the pain that came with seeing her home destroyed a second time. Bodies lay about, scattered like bones.

Her eyes stung.

"Pride." Where was he? She looked around for some sort of sign of her brother, twisting to find something to lead her to him and pull him free if needed. The monster being far away was almost a blessing, giving her the freedom to think without commentary or suggestions, without the rage she felt from it.

"Where are you?" She thought she had seen him a moment ago in the chaos, but now he seemed to disappear in to the brightest portion of flames as she walked the scarred roam`

Regeneration - Joy's body heals quickly and she can expend one Qi use to heal 1/2 her energy in damage. This power also cuts recovery time between threads in half.

Cain and Kaia's obstacle race was under way! First up, a bunch of Hurdles to jump! (Both roll D20 + Per or Spd > 40, If pass roll again for > 50, if pass roll again for > 60)

Pride reached out with the force and would be immediately hit with screams of agony, suffering, and hatred. A LOT of Negative emotions all bombarding him so hard it threatened to swallow him up!

Joy finds that despite the use of her Qi the flames were far too powerful to walk through! Which isn't to say her ability didn't work as much as the flames were so powerful, so hot, and intense that they practically ate through her Qi as though it was gasoline! Her feet would be engulfed in flames! Burning through her footwear and eating at the skin of her feet! (-50% Spd) The flames now leapt out at her, as though now that they had a taste for her flesh they wanted more. But in reality the fires were just spreading that quickly! Oh, and it is starting to get difficult to breath... Dark black smoke started to fill the air.

Avice exits her room to discover what looked like a lab that had not only be abandoned, but looked like it might have been attacked! Equipment is damaged, desks and filing cabinets are flipped over, clutter is all over the place. Whoever was here, is long gone. Or so it seemed.

Soni is in a ball crying silently to herself.

Kaia isn't intimidated whatsoever by those hurdles, leaping over them like a damn gazelle!

[Joy]

The smoke in the air hung thick, filling her lungs and nose as the smell of burnt flesh became all too real for her. Shaking her head, Joy would seek a way out, going at a fast clip.

"This isn't real." It was a statement, rather than a reassurance as she shook her head. She remembered keeping the territory leaders back as they tried to interrupt Pride's fight with a Dragon. The fall and shouts as the fight broke out. Now this. The burn may be real, but this wasn't her village.

"The Oleander will spread and choke out our way of life so that it may bloom." This wasn't the doom meant for them, and this wasn't her village. She had seen what destruction her village had gone through, and it was more than just fire.

She covered her mouth with the sleeve of her coat, looking for a way out.

She went from a hospital room to a lab without a hall or a label of direction...

Strange... Very strange.

She would see the chaos but avoid touching anything or stepping in weird substances she decided to try her hand at finding her way out. Or find something of use.

Her eyes were sharp purple and their pupils narrowed. She looked through the wreckage to find a stream of energy. If someone would be tricking her she would try and shake them out.

Extreme Mental Resistance: Any attempts to enter, infiltrate, manipulate, or control Avice's mind causes the attacker %150 Avice's energy in damage and if the attacker is an NPC or QC allows Avice to send suggestive thoughts to the attacker who has to pass a 1d100 roll difficulty of 50.

Zero Ability: The Jagan is able to release limiters or add limiters on a person they can see or the wielder themselves. Making the person capable of far more powerful attacks, greater durability, or any number of things. This ability adds the Jagan user's energy stat to any target's stat, or lowers that stat by the Jagan user's energy. Minimum 1

Zero Ability: Inhuman; Not instantaneous, but bruising and minor cuts heal in a matter of hours. Broken and fractured muscle and bone will heal in a day. Takes lots from the body and makes body sleepy and need sustenance. Compensating senses; heightened senses sight hearing, smell, taste, and touch. 50% perception increase.

If there was one thing that Pride was long used to, it was negative emotions bombarding him. The screaming whirling voices of his chaos heratage, the start of his friendship with the beast within him. Even his own Pride, desires, and fears. His life was a swirling vortex of pain, suffering, and anger. Overcoming those neverending battles within is what let him get as far in life as he had. He wasn't afraid of a little more.

He'd maintain his breathing, keeping his eyes shut and reaching out. Looking for the wedge he needed to strip away this illusion. Listening for the voices within him to show him the way.

Soni's heart rate began a decline, and her sobs finally calmed down.

If you escaped this place once, you can do it again, she told herself.

Her hands slipped from her shoulders to her face as she took deep breaths. Wiping the tears and snot off of her face, the girl sat up. She searched around the room with her eyes to take a close look at it, and she would grab the nearest sharp object she could find.

Kaia shoots ahead of Cain! She is rewarded by having a bunch of Arrows shot at her! (Kaia roll a D20 + Per, Spd, or Def > 65)

Pride is bombarded with even more darker, more sinister emotions! They welcome him! (2/5)

Joy's search for an exit showed only one path that MIGHT lead to exit, and it meant trying to crawl under a pillar that was on fire! It's structural integrity didn't look great...

Avice attempt to see beyond only rewarded her with an INTENSE backlash of Negativity! Whatever pulled her here didn't like that she was trying to escape! Avice feels the pain equivalent of someone trying to scratch out her eyes! (-50% Per, Avice now has trouble seeing clearly, all she can see is super blurring images and silhouettes)

Soni was able to find a piece of broken glass. There is still a crying baby outside Soni's door!

Avice and Soni both begin to notice that behind them. The rooms they were in were both beginning to fill with darkness, as if it were alive. It was slowly inking towards them!

[Pride]

Pride continued doing what he was doing. The dark emotions welcoming him did not detour him. Maybe they were familiar, maybe they were not. There was one voice in particular he listened for above all the others as he continued to expand his senses.
