For a guy who loves weapons, Cain doesn't know a whole ton about them.
Sure, he knew how to maintain a blade, make sure it stays sharp, and how to repair and reinforce a handle, but overall, the creation of them was pretty much a mystery. Because of this, Cain had a decision to make. Head to the armory, see who was around, whether they wanted to talk about where they got their equipment from and head there...
Or say fuck it, and head to the library to find a book on crafting.
Mind made up, he's currently sitting in a pile of books, using several as a backrest while he thumbs through others, trying to find something that could help.

Preston frowned. One of the great tragedies of this place was how many people failed to value books and the knowledge they held. They all seemed content to ignore the giants around them, and wallow in their opulence and security. As if they didn't know where the source of that security and opulence stemmed from. Pathetic.

"It's how I'm sorting them. These ones aren't what I'm looking for, the ones in front I haven't gone through yet."
He gestures at the ones to his left and right.
"...And I was making arm rests out of these ones."
