She dropped her hand with a loud exasperated and relieved breath. " Bloody Kuron, ya gave me a fright, but Aye, in the Runner profession, ya always keep Yar promises, contracts, words... Ya reputation depends on it."
She situated a sleepy Derik more comfortably. "what brings ya 'ere?"

Kuron finished watering the flower and moved it to get some sun.
"I am tending to Young Drake's prize here. Rai and have both noticed how much care he has shown it since his sudden... reemergence here."
Kuron turned to face Avice.
"Rai doesn't know what happened to young Drake, and try as he might he can't see it in Drake's string of fate. It's as though nothing happened. But, that nothing affected his son in such a way... Rai is very concerned for his son."
Kuron shook his head folded his arms as he leaned on the counter.
"That being said, he is aware that Young Drake won't care, or trust, Rai or his feelings of concern. So, we are choosing to watch from afar, and assist without being seen."

"I figured ya might be, to be 'onest I 'ad thought to give the boy someone to turn to where
Raikotsu can't. While I believe Raikotsu is daft for his ways to Drake I mean not to ruin it for 'im. Still Drake don't need to be truly alone. Did ya see how crushed 'im was? Someone else is watching 'im very closely, might be blocking Raikotsu to keep secrets."

Kuron shook his head.
"It is unlikely that what was done was with the explicit purpose of shielding Drake from Rai. Even to Rai's sight the boy disappeared in his room only to suddenly reappear in that crater, less than a few minutes later. No, it seems less purposeful and more of a... coincidence."
Kuron would wave his hand.
"However that is a matter that is neither here nor there for this conversation. Now, as you stated, now is not a good time for the boy to be alone. But he doesn't trust Rai, I can only assume his hatred there would extend to me as well, and everyone else we could send would, 1. Be a stranger to him, and 2. Would obviously have been sent by Rai. So, instead we would ask that you keep the boy company during this transitional period. You can refuse if you so chose. This is but a request."

"At least now ya gave me permission. I almost assumed Raikotsu wouldn't want me buttin' in, I was goin' to do it anyway though... No offense." She shrugged. "Raikotsu can use me like a messenger owl to Drake... A middle man if ya will. When 'im gets out of this funk, might no longer need me but I be certain 'im can 'old 'im's own. Yet I'll be there as if it was me own choice.
She hoped her point was getting across. "I not be sure I can fully trust Raikotsu... But I can tell I not been lied to or cheated yet. I want to do it because some 'ow I know Raikotsu will be someone I can count on and that's what I've decided to be for Drake in return."

Avice looked at the flower itself not sure there was much else to the conversation. "Oi, Kuron what do ya think of that bloom? I couldn't help but be a bit worried about how much Drake has a hold on it. Even in 'is fog that was the only thing that lit up 'is face. I just 'ope it's who 'im says it is and not another trick that will doom 'im or the rest of us."

Kuron would shrug.
"Only time will tell. For now though, I'd rather leave it be than to distress the boy further."
Kuron would then stand up straight again.
"Well, I will be off. I trust you to keep and eye on his treasure and keep it safe for him."
With that Kuron would leave.
