Coping mechanics (Miya/Open)

[Miya]

Miya pushed the glass of water closer to Kaia.

"Right, fantastic, anyways. What is it that YOU want?"

[Kaia Galanos]

"I'm going to become a God, obviously." she'd say, taking the glass and more or less chugging the water.

"But I want to figure out what happened to the last one, first. Which means It'll take me a bit of time...which also means it can be lorded over me that I'm still not a God..."

[Miya]

"Do do it in your own time, fuck whatever anyone else thinks. Do it your way, that's the only right way."

She would down some more water. Then smile.

"So what that you aren't a God yet! You want to prove you're better? Then beat your rival without being a God, THEN become a god. Show you don't need to be a God to be better, then, beat him again be being a better god."

[Kaia Galanos]

Usually, that'd be some good advice worth taking, but Kaia would just sigh and lean into her hands.

"I dunno...."

Beating him while he's a God didn't take away that he got it first. That's like losing a race and finding solace in beating up the guy in first place. Feels good, but you still didn't win.

"Who are you, anyway?"

[Miya]

"Miya. But we ain't talking about me."

She would roll her eyes. Leaning back she would fold her arms.

"Honestly, your issues don't matter to me, at all. I just figured I'd be a kind fellow bar mate. But if all you're going to do is pity yourself, then just accept that you are a failure, and quit trying. You lost, whoopty-fucking-do, get over it. You can't succeed at everything, always, and if you think you can, then you deserve to feel like shit. 'Oh it's not all the time is just that I lost to him!' So. Fucking. What. Are you a damsel in distress? No? Then stop pitying yourself as if you were one. Pull up your big girl panties and go out there and show him that just because he thinks he is all big and bad that it doesn't mean jack shit to you. His accomplishments don't matter to you, because they SHOULDN'T matter to you. And if they do matter to you, then you will never be better than him."

Miya would stretch.

"That's what I have to say about it, take it as you will."

[Kaia Galanos]

Kaia would just give a long sigh.

"That's a big speech for not giving a shit." she'd remark.

"Listen, I'm not asking for anyone to solve my problems, okay? I'm not spending the rest of my life pitying myself. I'm not a damsel. I'm not giving up. What I said was I was going to wallow in self-pity tonight so I can get it out of the way. Getting it out of my system."

Kaia would point at Miya.

"You were a stranger. I'm fine with you judging me. In the end, that doesn't really mean anything. I needed someone to rant to."

She'd suddenly give a little smirk.

"But you're trying really hard to hype me up. Am I endearing to you? You feel like protecting me, big sis? 'cause if that's the case, I might actually take some of what you said to heart when I bury all my feelings, tomorrow."

[Miya]

"Hmph. Take what you will as you will."

Miya would stand up.

"As for me, I'm sober, and I haven't had a job in awhile. So I'm off to find a bottle, or a job, either works for me."

With that she would turn around and start to walk away... girl almost reminded her of herself when she was younger...

[Kaia Galanos]

"Wait, what kind of work?" she'd call out to her.

[Miya]

Miya would stop and chuckle as her helmet closed and her HUD popped up. She'd turn around scanning Kaia for any criminal record she had or if she had any bounties on her head.

"I catch high priority targets for money."

[Kaia Galanos]

No bounties, and so far no criminal records though that might just be luck.

"Are you any good at figuring stuff out or do you just follow directions you're given?"

[Miya]

Miya's mask opened up again after a failed scan. And she would snicker.

"Sometimes it is as easy as being told where to go. But more often than not that isn't the case. You have to learn to follow the clues, see the signs, and honestly you gotta have just as much Luck as you have skill."

[Kaia Galanos]

"I see..."

Kaia looked like she wanted to say something but ultimately wouldn't. She already had to put quite a sum out for the tree, she doubted she could afford to hire this woman on top of it.

"Ah...good luck, then."

[Miya]

Miya would fold her arms as she studied the girl.

"What is it? It seems like there is more you wish to say."

[Kaia Galanos]

Kaia would give a wry frown.

"I'm trying to follow a lead, but I've got no real experience. I know what I need to do, but I don't know what I'll get out of it and if it'll be enough for me to continue afterwards."

Was she perceptive enough to take everything she gets and keep on her trail or would she just slam face first into a new wall?

[Miya]

Miya contemplated for moment before rolling her eyes and walking back to the table.

"What is this thing you're trailing?"
