The young female was once again in an isolated area, her body adjusting to the changes she was making when using other peoples' Qi. She had been practicing at various locations as of late, paranoid because a select few - namely drunk, drugged persons - stumbled across where she had been practicing. Of course, she never really practiced more than one Qi at once - not without David. She thought it might prove to be useful, but with all the energy she was using up, she did not want to accidentally knock herself out and suddenly find herself - oh, I don't know - missing a kidney? So here she was, at an abandoned parking lot building in the basement; it was around 10pm and, she figured, if any homeless people were in the building, they'd figure she was simply a pyromaniac. Not to mention she noticed they preferred to be in places where rats weren't around, so... She wasn't exactly sure if this were a popular place to practice. She just so happened to stumble across this building when she was jogging early in the morning, and figured it would prove to be useful to her. And besides, if anyone saw her, it's not like they knew her. She had her gloves in the side pocket of her loose cargo's, any jewelery that may have been on her fingers/wrists also pocketed safely. She closed her eyes momentarily, allowing her body to slowly - without rush - undergo the changes necessary that would allow her to use the Qi she had copied just a day or two prior to today. And, after a brief thirty seconds, she would focus all of her energy onto her hands, and POOF~ Her hands were engulfed in flames. She was taken by surprise by her own doing, but she did not extinguish it. She wanted to experiment, now, of what she could do. She brought in a fire extinguisher for safety precautions, along with 20 lighters. What? She bought them at China town for, like, $.25 each. Cheap. But she was also smart enough not to buy them all at once, or at the same shop. And with footsteps that echoed on the floor - ones that did not belong to her, she frowned and, without focus on her hands, the fire extinguished itself on its own. Her Qi, which activated the contacts, allowed her to see things in infrared. With the basement having absolutely no electricity or power, it would be completely black. ...so who's there? _____________________________________________________________ OOC: Mitsuki's Stats. Matrim had been walking around, getting to know all the places of the town once more. He had gotten too used to San Fransisco, so he decided he would check out Long Beach a bit more. Only to find some area that looked like a good place to fight someone. A place he could hold an underground club if he wanted to..... the movie Fight Club came to mind, and whats more... the only light in this place seemed to be coming from....
HER! She looks familiar.... where do I know her from?
Matrim had an uncanny memory, photographic in that sense. And when he saw the girl with her hands aflame, he thought he knew her. He had seen her somewhere but he couldn't quite place it. One thing was for certain, he didn't know her name...
Matrim started to walk toward the girl, when the flames went out, leaving the place completely dark. He kept walking, having known where to step, once again that good memory coming into place. He stopped about seven feet from where he remembered her being, "Neat trick," Matrim said, wondering if they just had the same Qi or what... but it wouldn't be so exactly similar... usually things were a bit different when it came to this, "Not too strong from what I can tell... but it's getting there. Here, why don't I light the room up?"
Matrim ignited his own hands, bringing light to the area once more, "Who are you? And how do you know how to do that?" He asked her, put plain and simple. If it was just her Qi... then he would be very intrigued.

The footsteps only continued to get louder, suggesting that - to Mitsuki - he was getting closer. What surprised her wasn't that he seemed to know where her location was, despite that brief moment where she had her hands lit up on fire, but the fact that he was the male that she ended up 'stealing' the Qi from. She stared at him, watching him light his own hands into a blaze, much more strong and more fierce than her own. She found herself captivated by the beauty of the fire. Was she a pyromaniac? No, she wasn't; she simply found the blend of colors and the shape - or lack of shape - simply breathtaking. Her eyes shifted from his hands and onto his face, staring blankly before her lips parted, voice escaping her throat.
"Qi."
She could have lied and said that she lit her hands on fire by spilling lighter fluid all over them, but not only was that a stupid lie because her hands weren't at all burnt, but it was unbelievable. Especially since if she said that, he could very well transfer his fire onto her, setting her entire body on fire to see if she was fire proof. She could have said the whole truth, that she had taken his Qi from him, but she didn't want to because...well, only a couple of people knew of her real Qi. David, Areon and Mr. Asiv. That makes three. So she chose a middle ground, mmyes? She wasn't lying when she said it was her Qi. And she would continue to tell the truth - or 'half' truths, if you will.
"I haven't been able to experiment with it until just recently," she said quietly, head turning towards the fire extinguisher. As for who she was, she wouldn't say unless he introduced himself first. It was only common courtesy to say your name before asking for others.

"Qi," She said, Matrim turned and began circling her, his eyes scanning her as if trying to smell a lie. She was being honest but she seemed almost nervous to Matrim. Her answer was short, and she didn't say much else until, "I haven't been able to experiment with it until just recently."
The word experiment, and the phrase 'until just recently' made Matrim think.
I must have seen her recently..... the teacher. She was there that day... she was one of the students. She watched me use my Qi, maybe it was her first time seeing it, and maybe she just imitated it without realizing. Or maybe she just happened to have the same one. Or maybe I influenced her to think she's not some nut cus her hands set fire, but that in fact she has Qi.... who knows....
Matrim watched her eyes, and looked over at the fire extinguisher, "It doesn't work on this if that's what you're thinking...." He said, giving her a quick little lesson about his Qi, "You been able to use Qi for very long? Or just since I fought that teacher?"
Letting her know that he knew where she was from was a way of letting her know just how intelligent he really was when it came to remembering names and faces.

...almost nervous around Matrim? No. She was surprised to find that it was Matrim who had discovered her, but not in the least nervous when it came to the half-truth, or half-lies, depending if one is a pessimist or not. She was a natural when it came to telling partial truths and whole lies, seeing as she depended on them for survival for the past several years. She's read books about lying, seen rather realistic television shows that use the concept of catching lies and...well, it just isn't that hard. Unless someone knew that one 'glitch' that apparently everyone else does when they lie; maybe scratch their chin or sigh. But Matrim wouldn't know that simply because it was their first time conversing, even if he was a boy genius. Not saying that he knew. But enough about Mitsuki's history of deceit, if you can call it that.
"It doesn't work on this if that's what you're thinking..."
"...and you know this...?"
Mitsuki raised a brow. Everyone's Qi is at least different in some way, and Mitsuki planned on making use of Matrim's Qi for Mitsuki slightly different than the way he uses them, by incorporating the usage of other Qi inconspicuously at the same time.
"You been able to use Qi for very long? Or just since I fought that teacher?"
"Since the teacher," Mitsuki replied, continuing, "To watch someone use a similar Qi created a spark of interest to sharpen mine..."
"You have good memory," she commented. She had assumed that the two were too busy with each other, trying to knock the other out. Then again...she really didn't do anything to conceal herself either, because she had no reason to.
"Mitsuki Park, and you are...?"

"...and you know this...?"
"Maybe... or maybe I'm bluffing," He said, looking at her strangely.
"Since the teacher, To watch someone use a similar Qi created a spark of interest to sharpen mine..." She said, "You have good memory, Mitsuki Park, and you are...?"
"Mat," He said, not really finding it important to know if she had copied his Qi or not. Hell she could have a similar Qi and it'd make for an interesting fight. But if she could copy Qi's, that was a totally different story, that would make for an exceptional fight, "Mat Gallagher. So let's see it then, your Qi. I take it yours does extinguish then? When introduced to that? Or is that just for anything that catches? Because I have that problem all the time when I'm training. Here's a tip though, stay away from anything volatile when training. If you have a leaky propane tank anywhere nearby it'll most likely train you in the art of getting blown to bits by shrapnel."
He held out a flaming hand to shake her hand, "Maybe if you use the same type of Qi we won't burn each other, come on, let's test it out....."
The way Mat's worked was whoever had the greater Qi strength (cha) would end up burning the other, so if he burnt her while she was using her Qi it'd just tell him how strong of Qi she could put out. That is, if she agreed to shake it while using Qi. Or shake it at all....

Well, that pretty much renders the lighters useless. Only one was in her pocket, while the others were next to the fire extinguisher, and so she picked the lighter out from her loose cargos and tossed it with the other 19 lighters that remained still on the floor. What he said about shrapnel caused a spark of ideas that flowed easily through her mind; already he was helping her without even realizing so, and for that, she was thankful. Perhaps training with him would not be such a bad idea, but unfortunately, having just met him there were still issues of trust barriers that would have to get broken. With David, he was her pillar, and so trust came naturally between the two of them. For the others, it was a series of events that brought them closer together. For Mat, it would be her first time actually interacting with him, and the fact that he fought a teacher sort of left a bad taste in her mouth. Not that she was all up for authority and teachers ruling over her - actually, she wouldn't have minded as much if the teacher had done something to the extreme. Corporal punishment, Mitsuki did not believe in. And so whenever a teacher punishes a student by means of physical violence (especially if said student hardly did anything wrong to receive such punishment), then no. She wouldn't mind taking action. Mitsuki ignited her hands once again and would shake Matrim's hand without hesitation. She figured the only way to know is through experimentation, and if she got burnt, well... It wouldn't be the first time her hands got burnt. Valekin, her sensei (though she still doesn't know his name), put her through several obstacles that inflicted much pain. So whatever happened, happens. (OOC: Editing in the last paragraph under request of Matrim/Joe) The one thing Mitsuki noticed as her hands approached his was the fact that - rather than staying one temperature - it got hotter. So it was only natural instinct for Mitsuki to pull her hand away as soon as their hands touched. Though her palm - because of previous burning - had gained some immunity to pain due to callouses, the rest of her hand did not. And because she was not wearing any gloves, she received minor burning. Minor, because she quickly retreated her hand before she even got to wrap it around his in a shake. She made no facial expression of pain, but the mere fact that she retracted so quickly was enough to let Mat know that it would not be - or wasn't - a pleasant experience for them to touch with his fire ignited. Mitsuki's brow raised as she looked at Mat. It may not have burned him, but it certainly burned her. Remember in first grade, when teachers kept saying, 'Hands to yourself!'? Yeah, that's what crossed Mitsuki's mind - briefly. "Burns," she commented. If Mat was wondering if his fire burned her, she just confirmed it.

"Burns," She said and he grinned at it, pulling back his hand as well but not extinguishing his Qi. Instead he looked up at her.
"Interesting..." He said, keeping it to himself that it didn't burn him, instead staring into his palm as if he were looking for something inside of it. He could burn her, and that was all that mattered to him. She didn't seem to be able to burn him. He looked up at the girl, "How about your fighting skill, do you know how to use the flames to your advantage in a fight?" He asked. He knew several ways, but he wanted to hear if she knew.
"If not I could teach you a few tricks, not through spar while using Qi since that would obviously hurt like hell," He said, "But I could tell you and if you want you could practice whenever. Though if you need a sparring partner, or someone to help train you, I'd help." He said. He didn't know much about her but he had always believed in training others, getting them stronger. The only time he resorted to true violence, to actually attempt to kill someone, is when they posed a threat to him.
"Otherwise I could just leave you to your solo training with the fire extinguisher. I hear those things put up quite a good fight."
