After a certain number of chains of events that is greater than but not equal to zero, Wedge would make his way back to the Crow's nest, where Luc had sent word ahead to have a meeting with a certain member of the Crows. As he approached the nest, walking towards the main entrance, he grew slightly nervous, as he had never met anyone with a high ranking position in a gang before. Was this going to be like the gangs of before? Wedge made a mental note to run at the first mention of the word 'ese'. And with that thought in mind, he approached the large industrial door which he was told let to First Black's office, and knocked. Here I am. I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in.{OOC: The letter which was sent to Delilah from Lucien: Dear First Black,
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. The reason for said letter in question is, in fact, a certain matter that which should not be discussed in such an informal manner such as face-to-face. Which is to say, that I am writing this letter to you in order to make it seem more formal, because this is a formal request, from me, to you, on a certain issue as follows in this next paragraph.
I would like for you to meet with my longtime friend, Marcus Samhaign, also known as Wedge, who has expressed interest and intention of joining the Crows.
I know this is not a matter to be taken lightly, especially in the light of recent events, and so I take this recommendation in the highest of importance and regard. I have known Wedge for years, and he has proven to be a trustworthy and capable individual, with qualities that are paramount in importance regarding an organization such as this one, in the context of the paradigm that is apparent in this new world.
I have sent Wedge ahead to meet with you, however, if you refuse this request for whatever reason, please do not feel any obligation to meet with him at all.
Thank you again for reading the above letter. The letter which I really hope you didn't skim over because it took me a long time to write. There is a large pile of discarded paper beside me.
The best of regards, Brother Lucien DeChain, Crow, Wolf.

"Dozo--, shit, I mean, come in."
If Marcus were to open the door, he would find within a rather chaotic looking, musty garage. Overturned bikes and various kinds of engines lay strewn about, all in various stages of repair. The room would be dark and seemingly, no one would be seen.
But he had definitely heard a voice.
Hadn't he?

At the abrupt outburst, Wedge would enter the dark garage. The smell of gasoline and oil was heavy in the air, and there were large mechanical parts everywhere he looked. But, with that, no one was to be seen. Which, he was getting used to.
So, with that in mind, two steps forward, and a call out to the dark room.
"Uh, hello? I'm Wedge, I'm here to see the First?"
And he waited.

A voice would seem to resonate throughout the room, directionless, the source still unseen. "'Wedge'? Ah, yes, Lucien spoke of you.'
"To what end would you speak with the First of Crows~?"

Wedge looked around, slightly worried.
"Uh.. I would like to join Crows. If that's ok. Luc said he recommended me in a letter or something?"
More looking for the elusive voice.

-SLAM!!-
The door behind him would shut with a loud, metallic bang and a lock clicked into place. If Wedge turned around, he would see no one there.
"Yes, he did. It was very wordy.
"Perhaps I didn't pay enough attention...
"Why do you want to join Crows?"

Wedge heard the door slam, and turned around, indeed, to see no one. Yeah, he had stumbled into something he couldn't get out of. And now he was being asked why. Left with nothing else, he shrugged and took a casual tone.
"Well, ya see. I wanna help. I've seen all the stuff you guys are doing, and I wanna be a part of it. I'll admit I've got no experience as a soldier, but I did football in high school, quarterback to boot. Gold trophy and all that, not that I'm bragging. Anyways yeah, I know Luc's got all this ninjutsu stuff under his belt, hah," He paused to chuckle at his unintended pun. "But, uh, I'm a quick learner, and... Not really sure what you want from me here."
Silence echoed through the room, as if mocking his scrambled, half-assed response. Wedge knew it, too. He was giving all the reasons except the right one.
"Okay, look. I feel like I've gotta do something to help. Rebuilding, getting rid of Barker, helping any way I can. And if joining this gang is what it takes, hell, give me a bandana and a billy club. I know I can help."
Once again the silence beckoned, asking for more. Wedge was still avoiding the question. He sighed, and this time spoke slowly and deliberately.
"Alright, alright. I want to join Crows because I made a promise to take care of Luc. If that means risking my life, I'll do it. If it means risking it for other people, for the greater good, for the gang, for my leaders," He paused. "I'll do that, too, and willingly."

"Interesting.
"So, say that Lucien was a spy for Barker, secretly. For arguments sake.
"And YOU found out about it.
"What would you do?"

Oh. Hum. Well.
Man, this is hard. Can I go home?
"If Luc was a Barker spy? I'd have to protect him from himself. Crow or not, I'd do the same thing. That Barker guy is screwed up. Luc's parents are dead because of him. So, yeah, if that meant having to turn against him, I'd do that. If he had to be killed..." Again he hesitated.
"I'd rather not be the one to do it. He's my best friend. But if it was necessary, I guess I would."
I've got a set of ideals, too, yknow.

This one was easy to answer.
"Hell yeah, I'm scared of him. That guy's one scary mother. He blew up the world, man. Were the French afraid of Hitler? Shit yeah they were."
And, after a moment.
"Sorry about the language, if you're offended by cursing."

Mild, genuine laughter would echo in the room. Chains hanging from the ceiling would rattle somewhere to Marcus' left.
"I have my buttons, but that is not one of them.
"Though you bring up an interesting point.
"Have you ever killed anyone, wedge?"

This made Wedge kind of nervous. Not for the fact that the answer was no, but that she had brought it up so lightly. It gave him the impression that killing would be a part of the job, and something he would be expected to do. Which, he figured would be, he just didn't want to think about it.
"Uh, no, ma'am, I haven't. But, I'm not as against it as Luc is. I considered joining the military for a while, you know, back then."

A brief, contemplative silence would follow Wedge's words.
"Lucien is against killing? THAT's interesting.
"Tell me about your goals."

Her voice sounded knowing. As if she knew something that he didn't.
Wedge snapped back into reality. My.. Goals?
"Uh, well, most of my goals got dissolved when the bombs dropped. Now, most of my goals are just involving living from day to day. Though, I see a future past this. Luc feels the same way. The end of the world wasn't the end of the world. We can get past this, and rebuild, and I dunno, maybe then I'd like to teach people what I've learned. Short term, though, I wanna make sure that that Barker guy doesn't survive to see that rebuilt world. Shorter term than that, hey, I'd like to join Crows."
