OOC: Okay, this is a thread with Marina Cassidy and Layla, but if Mikey thinks it'd be appropriate for "Unfettered" to know where the rest of his gang had been off to... he's free to get in here any time he pleases. This thread won't be too long, hopefully. The broadcast room. The must for every public school nowadays, as violence between the students kept on growing and growing. That recent riot had broken down some walls concerning the student's uneasiness with the enforcers but what about the Faculty? The Faculty were the one that took most of the financial blow. Pay wasn't exactly in the brightest side of the news as some people on the high up decided outright to cut their salary a bit until the school had been completely repaired. Layla Clavering, being able to work as a surgeon had absolutely no problem with that. Though she did have one problem regarding something else. Through the more than three dozen monitors in front of her were the many, many corners and major corridors of the school. Usually, these were left to record events automatically when the day starts and stuff. Most schools nowadays did... Now, her student-patient -- Emily: Where did she go off to? A few days AFTER that riot and she finds no trace of her. It was only then when she heard also some gossip of some other students missing, but that wasn't much of her concern as of yet... not really finding any clues to connect the events together. Until tape 1 and 2... So, she had been watching these over and over every day, trying to find out just what happened -- provided that there was no sound in any of these tapes, just visuals. ... but some parts of these tapes were obviously cut. ... Very much obviously so. First, she found a video of the Riot... something was cut right on 53:23. Several bodies on the frame before were missing.. and she could swear there was a shadow of someone dragging them on the wall. Second, was the most surprising of all. Emily and some other guy were in the school gym... first it was interesting because Emily had been pulled into a kiss, given the reactions on her face it looked as if it was forced and unexpected; second was the events than came in after one man arrived then cut. The camera must've been somewhat defective, as it stopped recording for a while, only resuming a bit later... when the two were taken away. Now, she was hoping an older person of the faculty had been here long enough to know what the meaning of this was... after all, they were teachers: their job was mostly to educate teachers, but in the long run... they were the student's supposedly "second parents". She had mentioned Miss Marina Cassidy to meet her here the morning before. Layla liked this teacher and if there were anyone in the faculty that had gained her trust and interest, it was her. ....... Speaking of parents~ She also had run into a video of Emily just a few days ago. Several students had been there... one of which was her most recent student, Rem... and ... an older student of hers back when she was teaching Psychology: "Unfettered". His presence there on that event was a little... surprising, given that he was pulling Emily so close to himself on this video... with her basically stripped to the bare necessities. It was a fun watch. And Emily was a slow texter -- Layla could even see her encoding a number on her phone. Given that she was such on a rush. So~ she took the liberty of sending him a message. Meet me in the broadcast room, 6PM. I know where your friends are. Layla didn't REALLY know actually... but hopefully, she'd get his attention. She didn't even remember to put in a name to identify herself... but what use would that be? Panic was the key. Maybe he'd think they were hostaged and this was the meeting place to settle the fees for their release? Something dramatic like that... or better. Now... all she had to do was wait.

Marina had been spending more time associating with her fellow teachers lately, Layla especially. Since the attacks on the school, the staff suffered a decent pay cut, and it was now more than ever that they should be united, rather than falling apart in protest. Most of the teachers here had alternate jobs and what not, the pay here wasn't that good but that mean that they were here for the good of the kids, for the good of their safety and education.
Speaking of safety, Marina too had noticed the disappearances. Two of her art students had failed to show up in class, Olesya and Emily, and had heard the whispers in the hallways. Something was off, and it unnerved the art teacher.
Layla had asked Marina to meet her in the broadcast room. Interesting why she would ask such a thing, but Marina trusted Layla and whatever it was she needed or wanted to show her. She pushed open the door, taking in the sight of the room and all of the monitors where Layla was sitting, watching tapes of the school.
"What are you looking for?"
She asked curiously, walking up behind her and watching the progression of the tapes she was watching from over her shoulder.

"What are you looking for?"
Layla smiled as she twisted the chair around, almost having her spin around. "More like what have I found, Ms. Cassidy."
Ms. Cassidy would find Layla's now serious demeanor to be quite shocking. The blue-haired plush doll had been set aside to the side of the chair as the woman went to face the monitors again and pressed several buttons. All but three monitors would close.
She put each of them on rewind for a considerable amount before pressing play. "You are like me." Layla would say, her eyes never leaving the monitors. "We both are artists with different mediums. You express emotions with visual craft while I, as a surgeon, deal with the body as creatively as possible to avoid all sorts of possible complications."
She would point at the first Monitor, showing the riot. It was playing 2.0x slower... so details of the fight were seen clearly. This was centered mostly around the area near the library.
"Your eyes, and mine... I can say to be the sharpest in terms of detail." she would point towards a familiar man, Mr. Malice. "Question number one: What is Mr. Malice doing here...?"
She would wait a bit, until the video is cut and the fight is shown to have ended. It didn't take too long before a slight flicker and the video would seem to have 'skipped' and a few bodies had disappeared from view. There were shadows on the walls.
Pause.
"Look at this, Miss Cassidy." she would say, pointing at the shadows of those of the wall. "Do you think these are shadows of Public High School Students?"
Well, of course not.

Marina quirked an eyebrow at Layla's comment. What she found? On tapes? What tapes were these? Leaning closer, she watched as the woman played them back at a slow speed. Recognition dawned on the art teacher and she felt her stomach lurch. This was the fight with the enforcers! She had just gotten back from lunch with a former student who expressed interest in interning with her when they fell upon the fray. The poor girl had taken a blow to the gut, and she had been pregnant. Marina had pulled the girl from the fray and called an ambulance, she hadn't heard from her since.
Whoa-wait, what was that?
Marina was pulled from her reminiscing as the video jumped, the hallway clearing of a few students. How odd, what was that on the wall? Shadows? Of who? "Is the tape damaged?" Marina asked, though there was a twinge in her gut that the jump wasn't unintentional. "I don't think so."
She answered her and Layla's question with the same four words. This didn't look good at all.

"I don't think so."Layla leaned back on the chair, smiling a thoughtful grin... though that smile wasn't of amusement. This woman smiled a lot for the wrongest of reasons, and usually weren't exactly 100% appropriate for the emotion she truly was feeling, however-- "That girl that got hit on the stomach was pregnant, wasn't she?" the pink-haired teacher noted, "Considering the force, she probably miscarried that child."
Shaking her head she pressed the pause button, immediately stopping on the shadows. "These are definitely not shadows of 259 students, my dear Marina." she said, "I feel that someone has been playing around with us since day one... I fear the worst for our students."
"I've gotten a few names of the students that had gone, almost all of them I've seen on the videos." She'd hand Ms. Cassidy a small piece of paper with a list of names. Including the transfers. Leon Sudeki Mathew Amtrum Sacricia Emily Lourdes E. Delos Santos Olesya Van Debogart Bastille Cunningham Masaru Deta "Dots" Teyfour Roland Graff "I think I might have an Idea who took them." Layla declared, pointing to the video with Emily and Mathew, on pause-view was Sean Barker... who was quite unfamiliar to the Surgeon. "I have no idea who this man is though, but I have the feeling he has a lot to do with this."

Marina frowned when the surgeon mentioned the the poor pregnant girl. She had been thinking the same thing, but it was odd to hear the other woman say it, it made it more solid. Maybe she would send a card to the hospital, they could forward it to her if she isn't still there.
Tucking this note in the back of her mind, she turned to the list of students. Marina had noticed a few absences, especially her art students Emily and Olesya. They were some of her best students, it wasn't like them to be missing classes. But this list was lengthy! What could have happened to them and why did no one notice before now?
"I think I might have an idea who took them." This struck Marina's interest, and she looked once more at the footage, a man's face showing up. She couldn't recall seeing him around anywhere, he definitely wasn't a student.
"How do you suppose we go about finding this man?" Marina had a sneaking suspicion she was in for more than the school paid her for.

"How do you suppose we go about finding this man?"
"Considering our lack of resources and precise information, I believe we won't be able to find him just yet." she said, smile disappearing. "What we could do though, is watch for any developments from the shadows and get as much information as we can."
A sigh, face finally turning away from the monitors to look at Marina. "If I'm going to place my efforts into keeping watch over the students like this, I cannot do this alone." she would say, "This incident could also be one reason for the government to shut 259 down one day, but... we can't do much right now but watch and do what we can to make sure no more students would be taken like this."
Helpless, but hopeful. "Unless though, you have an idea to share... Ms. Cassidy."

Marina frowned, watching the unmoving man's features on the screen. He looked...what was the word? Foreboding. Malicious. Malignant. Any one of those would be fine. What kind of maniac stole high school children? And for what purpose? They couldn't let their school fall to a man like him. Goodness knows the school has been through enough, but it still managed to pull through.
"Well I'm sure with the right tools we could run a diagnostic on the profile shot we have of him. Possibly run it through a database and check for matches. We'd just need access to the database."
Layla had said that they were both artists in their own ways. Layla was calculating and logical with her surgeon's background but Marina excelled in the arts, profiling this mystery man would be a breeze with the right resources. She pulled her cell from her pocket and typed in a note to herself to look into just that. As she saved the note, another thought crossed her mind.
"Did you say Malice was involved in this as well? What was he doing there and does he know about the missing kids?"

"Well I'm sure with the right tools we could run a diagnostic on the profile shot we have of him. Possibly run it through a database and check for matches. We'd just need access to the database."
Nodding, Layla looked again over the monitors. Looking at Emily, to be exact. Aye, just how was she right now? "Which sadly, I cannot provide. We'll have to find someone who can."
7 years.
Yes, she had been Emily's doctor and therapist for the past 7 years... and it would be sad if all the progress she had made with Emily were to flush down the drain because of one person. Aye...
"Did you say Malice was involved in this as well? What was he doing there and does he know about the missing kids?"
"... I don't believe he's much into the missing children, but I really think he's everything to do with that riot that crumbled the enforcers... based on what I've been hearing from the corridors. Honestly, I do not like the enforcers myself, but I didn't want things to end like this... all what was done is create yet another scene and bring 259 to the spotlight."

"Sometimes the spotlight isn't a good thing. Like you said, the government has been looking for excuses to shut us down, what with the gods attack and the evaluation disaster, things aren't looking good for us."
The art teacher crossed her arms over her chest, a finger pressed to her lips thoughtfully.
"I think we need to have a talk with Mr. Malice. I have a feeling he can fill in some of the blanks we're looking at here."
She tapped the screen where the mystery man's face was frozen, before sitting down into a chair herself, facing Layla. "In the meantime we need to gather all the information we can from this footage. Even the shadows would give us some clues. Sensibly, they could either be the shadows of the students, or those who took the students. Perhaps even making a sketch to broaden the scene beyond the frames of the tape."
She wasn't sure if Layla would understand what she meant by that, as Marina couldn't think of the exact word to use to describe it. They were pulling at straws right now, but one of them had to lead to something.
"The camera is fixed in its niche on the wall, but the people were constantly moving in the fight." She explained, drawing her finger in the air across the screen, "If we were to draw out their movements before and after the break, it could help shed some light on what happened in the missing footage."

OOC: HOMG... he's posting, he's posting! D= WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG, MIKEY!? XD... Anyways, if its cool with you guys for me to jump in (provided how long it took... I'll delete if you think I'll disturb the flow at this point of intervention), this'll be after "Unfettered's" hospitalization... with a drastically, much weaker "Unfettered".Gang's All Here "If we were to draw out their movements before and after the break, it could help shed some light on what happened in the missing footage."*CREAAAK*"Ja... zat vould be nice..."*Clack...*
*Clack...*
*Clack...*
Using a cane, his right foot limping, as he put all his weight onto his left, he looked at them, panting heavily, a bit of a sweat worked out. Obviously not in the best condition. But if need be...
Turning his ass, and sitting down roughly on the edge of a chair, the German had a very hard time hiding the 'pained' look in his face. His scarf was covering his mouth, and the fact that he was wearing all his gear, yes, all of his normal attire in his state may have actually proven to be a hindrance. However... he had come. There were things to be done, after all, ja?"Miss Cassidy..." he rasped out tiredly, his eye half-open... but still fully alert. Recognizing the Art Teacher---got a letter about missing her class. Never got around to excusing it, so it was marked as a cut. Ah well. And... the familiar woman from the Psychology Class he took a while ago. The woman he'd saw help Em get off from the airplane---"...und Miss Layla, vas it?""Vich von of you... left me vith zis message?"Slowly reaching into his pocket with his left hand, he flipped open his cell phone, eye glazing over it, opening up the text message:Never mind how he found out that this was the correct room (Must've been doing a lot of walking and eavesdropping... and on his bad foot too... But evidentially, persistence pays off). The important thing here was... he had some people to account for. And as he slammed his cane down on the floor a bit impatiently, a sudden iron filling his face, it was obvious:
There was hell to be had.

"If we were to draw out their movements before and after the break, it could help shed some light on what happened in the missing footage."
"Ja... zat vould be nice..."The pink-haired woman smiled. Alas, the last person she'd been waiting for. Now that everyone's all here, there were things to discuss, things to reiterate and show. Maybe he, who she had heard (through the miracle that is gossip), to be a gang leader... had an idea... or at least, maybe... someone she could depend on to help solve this ... mystery. After all, not many people know of the man shown on pause on the monitors. "...und Miss Layla, vas it?""Alas, you've finally come, Mr. Winters. Yes. It's Layla Clavering, at your service. I'm glad that you've responded to my text message this... 'promptly'" Pressing a button, the printer began to print out a screenshot. "Though, I must say... you look like someone in horrible condition. Do you need medical attention?"She turned her chair to meet face-to-face with the snow blonde boy as he sat down. His aura seemed of someone not of his age, but of someone older... was it maturity? ... or something more of a "worn-out soldier"? Then again, Layla couldn't tell -- Winters was still an acquaintance amongst her students, and honestly, there was lots and LOTS to be asked. "Vich von of you... left me vith zis message?" he'd ask, the surgeon replying with a smile as the boy slammed his cane onto the floor. Human emotions were fun to exploit-- No. Explore would be the better word for it. Everyone reacts differently; every reaction is unique and true, to an extent for some... but in general... all were of something to take note of. "It was me, Mr. Winters. Though, I am sorry I can't exactly give you the location of your friends, but we're quite close to that conclusion." She'd say before glancing at Miss Cassidy. "You've probably heard or known about several students missing since a couple of weeks ago. I've given a tally of names of missing students over to Miss Cassidy, I think you'll figure several of these people are connected to you."
"...One of them... is Emily." she would say, her voice straying from it's usual happy tone into something more solemn, concern for the girl showing in her face. That was something she didn't want many people to see. She turned the chair to face the monitors and took the now finished screenshot and passed it backwards for the student to reach. "According to one of the videos, she was with one other student, a transfer... if I've read his records correctly." She had put the video of Emily and the brown-haired boy at the school gym. It played from the very beginning -- from a few seconds before the forced kiss to the moment where this man entered. It was only a few seconds into some sort of confrontation that the video was cut only to show thugs dragging the two teenagers out. "Whoever this man was, he had erased any evidence of "kidnapping" students in the riot... except for this video. I don't think he bothered, considering the camera wasn't exactly in good shape. Well, do you have an idea as to who this guy would be? ...Anything at all that could help me and Miss Cassidy figure out what has been going on?"Of course, since she wasn't facing him... none of his facial reactions would reach her, but surely the tones of his manner of speech... the way he spoke... would give some away. "... and yes, Miss Cassidy." she said, "We should get to that before the end of this week. ...I... don't know... how long Emily can hold out on her own."A selfish reason for investigating this, however... Emily was someone of great importance to her. The wall of perpetual happiness was finally broken. Meanwhile, Layla played and played the video over and over. Honestly, she felt like she had missed some sort of detail. Just something she had overlooked. Surgeon or not, she was human... If only she played the video a little longer, a thug would've passed through the camera... showing a patch of Correctional Facility personnel. It was obvious by then, that she wanted answers... but her thoughts were too much on Emily and the other missing students to think much. Maternal desperation? Is there such a thing? It didn't matter, really. 7 years of hard work were at stake.

[OOC: HES POSTING HES POSTINGGG!!! Welcome aboard, Mikey (:]
-----
Hearing the entrance of another individual, Marina turned in her chair, a slender manicured eyebrow rising curiously. The expression then turned to that of concerned shock at the obvious limp and cane dawning on her at the same moment as her recognition of the individual. He had been the boy helping her with the mural, he was going to attend her class but never showed. And now he walks in here with a cane and pronounced gait AND a text message from Layla. How bizarre.
Layla and the boys Winters were conversing, Marina was running a new question through her head. What was he doing here, a student of all people? Did he know something? She had caught a glance of the screen he held out to them before Layla came forward as being the sender. If these children were his friends, what could he do about it?
"You've probably heard or known about several students missing since a couple of weeks ago. I've given a tally of names of missing students over to Miss Cassidy, I think you'll figure several of these people are connected to you. One of them... is Emily."
Alright, so Winters was connected to these missing individuals, especially her art student Emily, who she knew was also under the charge of Layla. But what did this boy have to do with it?
Marina watched the footage with the rest of them, blinking and leaning forward when the mystery man arrived, but with another cut, the two of them were dragged off. Bizarre.
"Is there any way we can ID those guys as well? There isn't a good shot of them from whats left of the damaged video, but there has to be some clue or distinguishable feature somewhere. A birthmark, a scar, missing fingers, anything. I don't believe they are students."

The Perfect Catalyst Theme Song: Darksong2 by cheshyre] "Alas, you've finally come, Mr. Winters. Yes. It's Layla Clavering, at your service. I'm glad that you've responded to my text message this... 'promptly'... Though, I must say... you look like someone in horrible condition. Do you need medical attention?"Apparently, the German was in too much of a rush to notice that Professor Layla was the one. Had he heard, he probably would've dismissed it anyways. Taking a few heavy breaths, he shook his head. What was being said?..."It was me, Mr. Winters. Though, I am sorry I can't exactly give you the location of your friends, but we're quite close to that conclusion."Ah. Quickly the German's face contorted into a frown. He'd been lied to. Which meant the only other thing they (so he assumed) called him for was simple: Information. Snorting a bit indignantly, he nodded. Appearing perhaps a bit irritated, but very much alert to what they were saying, his breathing slowing down to a healthier pace."You've probably heard or known about several students missing since a couple of weeks ago. I've given a tally of names of missing students over to Miss Cassidy, I think you'll figure several of these people are connected to you.""...One of them... is Emily."Old news. It'd been weeks now. All of this felt likened to reopening old wounds, pouring salt on them, and sewing it back up. Nodding simply, trying to keep neutral in all this, he waited as the Psychology Teacher spun about, taking up a printed out piece of paper, and handed it over to "Unfettered", who took it, more or less curtly."According to one of the videos, she was with one other student, a transfer... if I've read his records correctly."...
Ah. The transfer kid. That one, in particular?
...
...
...So. That's what she was doing? This was looking increasingly compromising on his part.---Wait, what the hell?
...
...
...'Him'."Whoever this man was, he had erased any evidence of "kidnapping" students in the riot... except for this video. I don't think he bothered, considering the camera wasn't exactly in good shape. Well, do you have an idea as to who this guy would be? ...Anything at all that could help me and Miss Cassidy figure out what has been going on?"For a moment, he kept silent. Standing up for a moment, he hobbled over to take across from Professor Cassidy, and adjacent from Layla. Mulling over what he was being told. Running over in his mind what he'd seen. So distracted for the moment, that he didn't realize his hair was covering up his entire face, until Professor Layla began speaking again..."... and yes, Miss Cassidy. We should get to that before the end of this week. ...I... don't know... how long Emily can hold out on her own.""Is there any way we can ID those guys as well? There isn't a good shot of them from whats left of the damaged video, but there has to be some clue or distinguishable feature somewhere. A birthmark, a scar, missing fingers, anything. I don't believe they are students.""Aha..."
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...~"Perfect. Like a gift from God himself. Looking at the screen shot and then at the two teachers, still shaking in his seat at how... 'amusing' this whole procession was, he couldn't believe. Was he actually more informed about this then they were?
To anyone else, "Unfettered" may have appeared to be a completely distraught kid, overwrought with feelings of terror and loss. But this shaking, this feeling... It was the feeling of cumulation. His plans. Strategies, tactics... good Lord. He knew it to be flexible, but this? This was perfect. This was the core. Anything and everything he could ever ask for. And in some sick and twisted way, he was actually very, very happy.
Grinning... either out of maliciousness or out of unfettered joy, the German sat up, coughing a bit, before standing up."It'z like... he vas a God-damned prophet, or somezing. Literally, God-damned."
"Zis may have been ze Enforcerz' greatest victory, zen." he replied still smiling with a disgusted look in his eye. "Mr. Malice vas indeed... very instrumental to zer plans. But I'm not even sure if he knew it..."A few drops of information. He knew something those two didn't... But perhaps this information wasn't free?
From a grin to a scowl... There was something to be had. Which, coincidentally, was instrumental for his own plans for the retrieval of the lost students.

Sorry... lame post @__@ Hearing a rather loud laugh from behind, Layla turned her head blinking, but still a smile on her face. If she were any normal person, she'd be frowning in confusion as to what was so funny with this. Then he stood up, muttering: "It'z like... he vas a God-damned prophet, or somezing. Literally, God-damned.""Desu?" she's say, tilting her head as she pivoted the chair to face the student. Did he know something she didn't...? Couldn't blame Layla, or Marina for not knowing much though, after all... they were fairly new. "Zis may have been ze Enforcerz' greatest victory, zen. "Mr. Malice vas indeed... very instrumental to zer plans. But I'm not even sure if he knew it...""You know something we don't, now do you~?" Layla said, smiling as usual... the playful tone increasing as the boy quickly caught her interest. Fufufu... At least, they were getting somewhere. Then again-- Gang leader. ... would he give this stuff away for free? Probably -- or most likely -- not.
