"You know, I fancy myself an idealistic man. I mean, I'm spending almost all of my time either fighting to preserve peace, weird as that sounds, or I'm generally musing about philosophy and my past. I will admit, though, that this is a first."
It was lunch time. A number of students were staring at a second-story window; why? Because hanging out of said window, upside down, was a boy glowing blue. Anyone happening to be nearby would be getting a feeling of calmness/boredom/amusement. (Orion, and Shadow, are empathic due to events at 552. I don't feel like summing them up right now, so ask via PM if your truly curious. This goes to anyone reading this.) Orion mentally shrugged, seeing as it would be sort of hard to physically shrug in this position.
"I think the only strange thing is that I don't feel the blood rushing to my head yet. Eerie. Oh well. Huh; the world looks kinda different like this. Gravity gets defied.... cool."
Actually, the blood was getting to Orion. That's why he was talking so much at the moment.

To the Rescue! For whatever reason at all Jayr found herself on the second floor of the school, why was this odd? Probably because all of Jayr's classes were on the first floor as she decided since coming to California that Earthquakes were a serious deal. Aside from that Jayr kept to herself striding through the upper floor halls with a wide brimmed smile on her face. She'd carry the weight of about three books under her left arm and hefting an average sized purse over her right shoulder balanced out with the other arm.
She was unmistakably in fashion seeing as the larger purse you had the more powerful you supposedly were, and her considering the purse small would certainly be out there considering it could be mistaken for a small backpack. A giddy skip as the clack of her heels met the floor with an upbeat pace considering to check out the roof when she heard a dull "awe" from what was the ground floor and adjacent rooms.
Interesting class? Perhaps, she considering busting in and if she got in trouble with teachers she could pull the whole pillar excuse. Certainly she felt guilty using that considering she really hated people abusing authority but she really couldn't go on staying here if she didn't work and detention meant she couldn't work.
Enough thought process, Jayr would come in through the doorway coming upon some feet dangling on the ledge matched with a bunch of pudgy faces stuck to the glass windows slobbering for a better view as they angled their heads.
"I got you!"
Jayr would exclaim quickly out of shock bolting to the edge of the window passing up the lingering feelings that strained at her head before pulling free the legs and accidentally loosing her grip which would lead to the boy tumbling out to the floor level.
"Oops!"
Jayr would exclaim once more in shock following out the window quickly landing a few feet from where he'd fall/land. Good thing the fall was a very short one. With a quick thump she'd rub her thighs which'd taken the blunt of the fall before taking off towards him with an apologetic glance ridden with worry and concern.
"Are you alright, I'm so so so so so so Sorry!"

"I got you!"
Wait, what?
Someone grabbed a hold of his legs and tried to pull him in. Then lost their grip and dropped him. Ah, hell.
"You can't be serious..."
Orion quite calmly kicked the wall, performing a back-flip and getting rid of a bit of momentum as he landed, perfectly safe and unharmed, on the ground. Students all around clapped at the maneuver, before staring at him glowing. Orion growled under his breath before raising his voice.
"Didn't your mother teach it's impolite to stare? Go on, get. I know most of you have business elsewhere."
Told off, the students began to disperse, a few last glances at him as they left. Orion sighed and turned to the person who had jumped down, evinced by a loud thump behind him.
"Are you alright, I'm so so so so so so Sorry!" "I'm fine. I needed to move anyways, the blood was getting to my head. Name's Orion, Orion Smith. Wait a minute..."
Orion stared curiously at the girl before his memory sparked.
"I remember you. You were that girl who stepped in to stop me from beating the living shit out of some wanna-be rapists. Your also a defender of sorts, and from the information I have gathered, a Pillar. Though I have not yet chanced upon your name."

Not even phased. Jayr didn't catch his little comment to the crowd or even when he backwards vaulted off the wall to manage a safe descent. Things would've probably unraveled differently if she had. Having rushed downward in her descent ready to perform some quick necessary adjustment to his physical stature assuming he might have been more seriously injured at least a bruise. Clearly however he struck the floor without the slightest budge to his figure.
"I'm fine. I needed to move anyways, the blood was getting to my head. Name's Orion, Orion Smith. Wait a minute..."
Jayr would stare still slightly at ends as to how he managed descending without splattering his skull across the ground. Also swiftly coming to realize just how quick he was to reply almost as if it was prepared. She'd overtly shake her head coming back to the conversation.
"I remember you. You were that girl who stepped in to stop me from beating the living shit out of some wanna-be rapists. Your also a defender of sorts, and from the information I have gathered, a Pillar. Though I have not yet chanced upon your name."
"Its Jayr."
She'd reply entirely calming sense of the word trying to be presentable despite her distressed position she'd quickly been recovering from. Though all things came with a sense of shock when you rebounded so fast from one emotion to the other.
"Are you glowing?" Jayr would ask with a bit of shock to her voice, though much less directed at him and more wondering if the action of throwing someone out a window had left her in a state of shock.

"Its Jayr." "Nice to meet you Jayr."
Orion realized then that Jayr was staring at him. He sighed. Wait for it...
"Are you glowing?"
Bingo.
"Yes, I am. Human experimentation that A. Drastically altered my physical appearance, B. made me unable to feel pain, heat, or cold, C. gave me immunity to alcohol, and D. made me glow with this empathic aura."
Said aura was resonating with calm/irritation/amusement as Orion quite calmly sat down on the ground cross-legged. At this point Jayr would probably figure out that literal emotions were pouring from Orion.
"Be thankful I'm not Shadow. The sheer amount of blood-lust he broadcasts stuns some of the weaker people around here. Anyways, aside from throwing people out second-story windows, what exactly does a pillar do around here? I believe it's different for each school, no?"
Orion laid back, his back touching the ground, his legs still crossed. This was actually quite a comfortable position. He kept his eyes open, and the golden-colored eyes were staring directly at Jayr's cerulean eyes. It was a habit of his, disconcerting to others due to his unnatural eye shade, to look into the eyes of those he's speaking with.

Pleasantries and Misdemeanors. "Yes, I am. Human experimentation that A. Drastically altered my physical appearance, B. made me unable to feel pain, heat, or cold, C. gave me immunity to alcohol, and D. made me glow with this empathic aura."
Jayr would smile innocently unsure of how to make a reply out of that, it was quite a mouthful and certainly something one did not see every day. Much less something she could only feel was radiation coming off of him would add to concern but therein was the issue that kept her from reacting poorly.
"Be thankful I'm not Shadow. The sheer amount of blood-lust he broadcasts stuns some of the weaker people around here. Anyways, aside from throwing people out second-story windows, what exactly does a pillar do around here? I believe it's different for each school, no?"
Jayr would listen inquisitively unsure as to where to approach this conversation from considering he seemed to be very trusting as far as where his own character resided, taking to a very relaxed pose to which she'd follow in a nonjudgmental manner even taking to mirroring his movements.
"Well I can't say I'm on board with the answer to that, there are no rules specifying anything other than upkeep order which in some aspects are different based on perspective."
Jayr would curiously imply, dragging into the depths of her reasoning skills to try and usurp a solid definition to her supposed "duty". Judging on the past pillars had always been nothing in her eyes, nothing more than instigators to chaos and peril where in the same time they held a title that she held she saw a decrease in chaotic brawls and more focused channeled systems of control. Despite the fact that these were after all fights they were manageable and orderly. In essence that was her duty.
Her eyes would relieve themselves from contact with him picking at her hands which drew strands of grass from the ground like a child at a soccer game would bored with the coach's reprisal of adult conflicts and more interested in simple mechanic work of the hands.
"I suppose my job is to keep people active, not tell them what to do but give them the opportunity to channel what they're good at."
She'd express in a relieved smile having sought her suitable answer. At the very least it was what she believed was a pillar's duty.

"Well I can't say I'm on board with the answer to that, there are no rules specifying anything other than upkeep order which in some aspects are different based on perspective."
Orion nodded agreeably, moreso to himself as she had laid down and couldn't see him.
"I suppose my job is to keep people active, not tell them what to do but give them the opportunity to channel what they're good at."
Orion raised his hands and softly clapped for a moment.
"So, you basically bring out the potential in people, yes? Heh, that seems more reasonable then any other pillar I've seen."
Orion eyes blanked out slightly as he looked back in the past. Back at 552, the first school he was at.
"Back at 552, the pillars weren't active, except for Shugo. They really didn't do much, leaving things in the hands of people like myself, self-proclaimed defenders who still have a lot to prove. The only two that were actually close to active was Narin Carter and Mekiel Echigo, who replaced one of the old pillars. After a while, Shugo finally challenged Constantine for Captaincy, and he got it, though he didn't win the fight. I think out of all the students of 552, Constantine was the most powerful; however, he kept to the background, which was damn near fatal for a number of us when some idiot the principal hired turned evil and let loose two maniacs, one of which I had to fight alongside five other people."
Orion shuddered as he recalled the laughing screaming face of Jester, an insane man who had kidnapped Jacket Ankari, Shugo's girlfriend, and Yuuki Claymore, a fellow defender. Both had ended up in a hospital, as pretty much everyone but Orion did; Orion had suffered the least injuries, despite being weaker then most of them.
"The bastard had taken two students and ran into a labyrinth to try and hide. Shugo had been in the labyrinth before, though, so he had led us to Jester. That guy... he wasn't human. I lost track of the fight, as Shadow and I switched constantly, so it's kind of blurred. I do distinctly remember Shadow poking out his eyes. That's not the inhumane part; it was what Jester did to his own eye, ripping it right out of the socket."
Orion shook his head to himself.
"Sorry. Those memories aren't exactly ones I like... and I've been rambling. Tell me, is 259 any better? I've talked to a few students from here, and they said 259 is as much, or maybe even more-so, of a hellhole then 552 is."

Measuring Worth He'd slightly applaud her perspective, the response bringing a slight blush to her cheeks figuring he was either joking with her or being serious. Either way the reaction still settled upon self-consciousness. The simple fact that she was steadfast to this goal all the same still unsure as to how others might react to it. And while she didn't need other people to hold her ideals in high regard, she figured it was pointless to argue pointlessly when others didn't want that end.
"So, you basically bring out the potential in people, yes? Heh, that seems more reasonable then any other pillar I've seen."
Jayr would smile brightly at him pointing out that reasonable fact. She hadn't quite looked at it that way but it was a good way to put it. Without the means of violence of course.
"Yeah, I suppose you could put it that way."
She'd hear him out taking little mental notes in her head as he went on his story about past pillars he'd met. The story itself didn't seem the best, though she knew stories like it as back on 774 before she was Captain Kevala had chosen the muscle heads to incite fear into her followers to prevent them from rising up. A slight gulp as she remembered an instance in a certain cafeteria when she was standing in between Jack and Kevala with their foes at the other end trying to make an armistice to the blood shed.
"Wait you know Mekiel?"
Jayr would interject for a moment recognizing his name, along with Shugo's but Mekky had made a greater importance upon her memory. He'd been one of the Transfers to 774 who had helped her out more than once. The one person other than Donnie who hadn't doubted her.
"Sorry go on."
Jayr would sigh momentarily pressing a lock of hair over her ear leaning forward now on crossed legs to get a better view of the strange glowing boy Orion. His story very intent and passionate, a sort of born story teller albeit the absence of details here and there made to leave Jayr in the blue and was perhaps thankful for.
The rest of the story rather repulsing her as Jayr never imagined such an extent of this world and would be proud not to be a part of that. However it was step one, walking away from such a bloody past and building upon old to make things anew.
"Sorry. Those memories aren't exactly ones I like... and I've been rambling. Tell me, is 259 any better? I've talked to a few students from here, and they said 259 is as much, or maybe even more-so, of a hellhole then 552 is."
"Your guess is as good as mine, I've only been here a few months, things seem to be settling down but still times are tough."
Jayr would say in a proud smile feeling a bit as though she had some weight in those altercations however one could only be so sure from a birds eye view. Still there was chaos, still there were no built up systems to maintain order. For all Jayr knew she was a lone pillar against an army of hungry eyes wanting what she had. A position and nothing more.

"Your guess is as good as mine, I've only been here a few months, things seem to be settling down but still times are tough."
Orion chuckled softly.
"552 was a bit more relaxed, but then again, we had all just fought a major battle."
Orion was silent for a few moments, looking back at his past. He chuckled softly again after a long moment.
"It's kind of sad. I have a very good life; my dad is a pro wrestler, my mom his nurse. And yet.... I underwent this human experimentation, in an attempt to become stronger and protect people. My parents understood completely, thankfully, but still."
Orion then found something strange. He replayed the conversation in his mind until Jayr mentioned Mekiel herself. Huh, the dude sure got around.
"So you know Mekiel? Huh, he gets around a lot... Yeah, I do. I count him as a friend of mine. He's also one of the few who underwent the experimentation, along with Valo Morei, the Sky Dragon, and a teacher named Takehiro Amakusa who we all commonly referred to as The Tank. Seeing as Amakusa could probably crush a tank, it's a bit fitting."
Orion sighed as he thought back to how he first met Mekiel.
"I guess it's partially my fault that he underwent experimentation... they had used him before, but he had fled when it failed. They recruited me, with my awesome speaking skills that I have-"
Here Orion let out a sardonic laugh. Him with speaking skills? Yeah, glowing boy with a demonic personality.
"and I, somehow, convinced him to go back and undergo the experimentation again, so as to fix him. He doesn't mention it any more, but I wonder if he even remembers, and if he does, if he feels anything toward me?"
Orion sat up, his head looking at the ground as he placed his hands behind his head, looking for all the world like he was trying to stave off a headache. Which he wasn't, but still.
"Argh! How the hell did I change so much? I count people who at times don't even seem human friend, I myself have turned into a freak of nature, and I'm even a damned murderer because of Shadow! Even my defending people still doesn't feel like I'm even coming close to atoning for what I've done!"
Orion sat still, silent, the only sound from him his breathing. Broadcasting out from him was anger/sorrow/confusion.

Confused Effort Jayr gave a weak smile as he mentioned parents, hers still lingering back in San Diego, waiting a call or notice that she'd gotten through safe she figured they were worried about her. But then again the fact that they didn't come looking could only mean that Alexi was covering for her. Her Step-Father and his illicit background probably had run checks on Jayr every day making sure to keep her in the best of hands.
A fine smirk as she batted her eyes recognizing that she was lucky to have them, even if they weren't always around for her. Not the stern loving mother with the controlling vice or the cool father who would know everything you did and would barely bat an eye, even to the worst things. Just a smooth reply that made you think, was what I did right? She could only imagine it was a yes, that she was continuing to do right not just in Alexi's but for everyone's sake.
Jayr would giggle lightly seems he did get around but she didn't doubt that Mekky was quite the charmer, had a way about him that everyone seemed to love. At least thats how Jayr saw him. That innocent enough little boy willing to shield others from harm and take it upon himself.
"Yeah, he's helped me out of a bit of trouble at one point."
A slight blush as she reconfigured herself to sit upright and focus in a bit more. As for the portion about testing, Jayr was in the dark about it, a sterile gesture as she tried to understand fully but not asking for specifics on the matter, she could see how harsh it was by the lingering moments he seemed to second guess himself on explaining further.
"Argh! How the hell did I change so much? I count people who at times don't even seem human friend, I myself have turned into a freak of nature, and I'm even a damned murderer because of Shadow! Even my defending people still doesn't feel like I'm even coming close to atoning for what I've done!"
Empathy was her strong suit, but where Orion emulated those harsh negatives Jayr would do such in an opposite way. Like a ray of sunshine on a dark and gloomy day she remained poised with a smile.
"We all do things to survive, what makes you stronger however is realizing what is wrong and striving to better those down trends."
Jayr would smile holding out a hand to him, more for comforts sake then anything else. A comforting gesture as he seemed to need just that.

"We all do things to survive, what makes you stronger however is realizing what is wrong and striving to better those down trends."
Orion looked up to see Jayr smiling at him, her hand extended. Orion fought down his negative emotions at this, and slowly his aura returned to calm/relaxation/joy. Orion smiled weakly, mentally drained a bit.
"Thanks. That happens sometimes. If it had gone too far.... well, then you would be meeting Shadow."
Orion tapped his forehead. While he didn't like to advertise Shadow's presence, he told anyone he knew of him, so as to give them forewarning.
"Up here. Shadow and I are alike in all ways but two: personality and eye color. Mine is the unnatural golden you can plainly see, while Shadow's are blood-red. Try to pay attention to the eye color when you first see me."
Orion leaned back on his arms, looking at the crowd of students in front of them.
"So... what now? I really have nothing to do today, since my teachers don't mind if I skip their classes; I'm doing so well in them that they have recommended me for skipping a grade level numerous times, but I always refuse: it gives me more free time. I attend every now and again to my assignments, chat with the teachers a little, and then continue on my way. So, I figure I may as well help you with whatever your doing. If you don't mind the company?"
Orion turned his head to Jayr and tilted it slightly as he asked his question.

finding Time "So... what now? Jayr didn't know all about that quite so much, she'd show so by sitting up straight and pulling out a small planner from her purse looking over her elongated schedule. Her pink nails tapping at the top and then the bottom of the schedule charting where to start seeing as it was nearly the end of the school day but not the end of the actual day. So somewhere in the middle. Slight OCD kicking in unsure as to which to start before giving up entirely and tracing her way from the top down.
Blank. She'd smile looking at the schedule finding that she had plenty of opportunity to take him up on his offer of company however as to what she was doing Jayr had no clue. Generally the one for quick thinking as well as long term plans charted down months in advance a blank period was generally an accursed moment in her life where she sat around speculating as to what she'd do before giving up and going shopping. The whole two minutes deciding that end goal being the worst of it.
"I'm free actually, buuuuut."
Jayr would set aside the planner back into her purse before raising hands up at her shoulder length staring at him blankly as though she hand absolutely nothing.
"I'm blanking."
The same innocent smile and shimmering hues suggesting that it was up to him to lead.

"I'm free actually, buuuuut I'm blanking."
Orion gave a theatrical sigh.
"Well, we can either roam the hallways and see if there's any trouble-making, or..."
And that was when the water balloon splashed on him.
Orion blinked. He blinked again. And then he looked up. Up on the roof was a bunch of pranksters who were chuckling madly at hitting him with a water balloon. Orion's expression slowly began to change from a very calm, soothing expression to a very pissed off look. His aura was changing accordingly, switching slowly from what he was emitting before to anger before he finally stood up and roared at them, his aura blasting out suddenly full force at the sheer strength of the emotion he was displaying.
"YOU MOTHER FUCKEEEEERRRRRSSSS!"
And that was when the next one hit Jayr.

Clash of the Water Titans "Well, we can either roam the hallways and see if there's any trouble-making, or..."
or...?
*Splunk*
The vapid glaze of water cascading off of his head and torso catching her with small droplets of water. Jayr would cringe away from such at attack merely from reaction rather than fear, and perhaps a bit because the water was cold as hell. Turning away Jayr would laugh slightly a large grin on her face turning towards the kids packing a heavy set of water balloons towering from the roof. Their laughs stifled as they ducked behind the small barrier looking over to see if Jayr and Orian had lost their direction.
"YOU MOTHER FUCKEEEEERRRRRSSSS!"
Jayr would laugh letting her hand grab his bicep to stop any forward motion if he was after all out to get them. She'd laugh heartily with a quick reply ready to cease fatalities.
"Its just wate-"
*Splunk*
"Ahhhh Oh My Gawwwdd."
Jayr would stand up jumping around to get warm and escape the descending water from going down her shirt, the freezing temperatures forcing her lips to gape open unexpectantly and shift to vengeance. Not the vengeance most would suspect but a vengeance nonetheless.
"Oh this means war!"
Jayr would take off to a sprint towards the nearest tree, her back plastering to it as the next volley of balloons came down on their heads. Her hand gesturing towards Orion furiously.
"Okay we need munitions."
Jayr would call to him with an excitable glance ready to get this water war on.

"Its just wate-Ahhhh Oh My Gawwwdd."After trying to calm him down, Jayr jumped up as water splashed down on her. After a bit of jumping around, she fled to the tree as the next rain of water balloons came down. Orion grabbed two carefully, dodging the rest. Orion shot a grin at Jayr as she spoke. "Okay we need munitions."Orion sprinted to join her, though obviously at a slower pace. "Allow me to distract them. You, since your faster, run around behind them and pelt them with their own water balloons. Now then, if you'll excuse me."Orion rushed back out, stopping momentarily to let loose his two water balloons. "EAT THIS ASSHOLES! NOW YOU FACE A DEMON YOU HAVE NEVER FOUGHT BEFORE!"Then time seemed to stop as Orion broke the fourth wall. "Aaaaanndd theme music! CATACLYSM AND ORACLE!" As the theme blared in the background, Orion reverted to his prior position and time moved normally again.
