Sara sat down under the shade of a tree in the park. She didn't worry about getting her track pants dirty, they were black, so it wouldn't show to bad, and she was only going to get dirty anyways. Her tank top, also black, left her arms bare on the hot afternoon, and now that it was getting late, it was cooling down and felt good on her skin. She looked down at the phone in front of her. She needed a sparring partner. Some practice before the 'big day'. She hated keeping secrets. Sucked at it. But it was the best way to do this.
She wondered if Matrim would question her motives. Probably not. He wasn't one to question what she did. She liked that about him, but goddamn, she wanted to tell someone... Kind of... If things went wrong then no, she didn't want anyone to know. So best to keep her mouth shut.
She quickly typed in a quick message and hit the send button.
"Need some company ;D...
Ok, I lied, I need to train.
Meet me at the park.
-Sara"
Then she settled back to wait for him.

"Need some company ;D...
Ok, I lied, I need to train.
Meet me at the park.
-Sara"
"Riiiight..." Matrim said, getting out of the van and looking around to see who all was there at the park. He had just been double checking the message, and was visiting the third park he had come across. Damn that girl for not being specific. Of course, Matrim didn't feel like asking her which park just because he needed something to do anyway, and Sparring wouldn't take too awful long. It had been a boring day. Oh well...
Matrim was in a tight blue under armor shirt, a pair of gray sweats with white stripes down the side, and a pair of old Nike's. He was going to try for something new this fight, something to really prepare Sara. They wouldn't be fighting with Qi.
Matrim walked along the park until he came to where Sara was, and said, "Alright, I'm here. So, you want to train? Are you sure you're ready for some more training with me? Need I remind you what happened last time?"
More or less that was just a test to see if she was ready. Simple test, if she said yes, she passed. Then again, if she said no, she'd have no desire to pass anyway. So when you really think about it, it wasn't so much a test as a question. Which is what it was, a question. Ramble ramble ramble.

"Alright, I'm here. So, you want to train? Are you sure you're ready for some more training with me? Need I remind you what happened last time?"
Sara looked at Matrim seriously. Was he serious? Of course she didn't need reminding. The reminder was on her chest every second of every day. "I wouldn't have asked you to come if I wasn't ready to accept the consequences, however esthetically inconvenient they may be," she replied sarcastically as she pushed herself to her feet.
Brushing off her butt she stepped forward. She was nervous about this. Fighting him was one thing, but to ask for training? He was liable to kill her in the process. He was wicked, and made the trainee work hard. It was part of the reason she had asked him. If she had anything to learn or improve on, he would be the one to show her. "Whenever you're ready."

"I wouldn't have asked you to come if I wasn't ready to accept the consequences, however esthetically inconvenient they may be," She said and he nodded, "Whenever you're ready."
"Alright then. Speaking of consequences that you are ready to accept," Matrim said, "No Qi. None, zilch, nadda. Not from you, and not from me. The very second you go trying to blast me away, is the second I do to you what campfires do to marshmellows, kay?"
He would then back up a little and stretch out his legs, and then he'd say, "That being said, let's do this......"
Matrim was determined to make Sara get to her limits. He took off running at her, and just as he got close he would kick off of his right foot, plant his left foot on the tree, pull back his left fist, and kick off of the tree, aiming to hook Sara across the face with that left fist as he came down hard on his right foot. If it connected he would immediately follow up with a right cross, aiming to knock her the opposite way.

No qi? Seriously? Sara was slightly shocked at this. Although it was a good idea that he not use qi, did she really stand a chance without hers? Would she be able to stand up to him without the strength boost and the speed?
"That being said, let's do this......"
Wait what? Shit... He was already off and running at her. She was second guessing herself. Not good. So she took the safe route. Assuming he was going to punch her or something, even though he was doing nothing to signal that, she decided on a dodge.
She ran at him, talking a few quick steps then dropping on her right side and sliding, like a baseball player going from one base to the next, dropping early in case he decided to clotheshanger her or something.
As an added precaution, she threw her left arm out so she was almost sliding on her stomach, and attempted to catch him at the ankles and trip him up. Then, pushing her left hand into the ground for balance and flipping completely on her stomach and by using her feet like brakes, she would gain her feet, coming to a stop in a position almost like a football player.
If everything went well, this would put her in the perfect position to run at him from behind. Had she managed to trip him, she would jump onto his back, grab his hair, and slam his face into the ground. If not, and his back was still to her, she would attempt to get a right hook into his right ribs. If he was facing her, she would aim for a jab to the center of his chest and then quickly retreat.

She went a bit too fast to catch his ankles, Matrim having a bit more airtime and landing further to the right on just his right foot then she would have been standing. But he stayed facing away from her, standing up and getting his balance back. He heard her slide, and his head turned to see her out of the corner of his eye, and he waited. Waited for her to make a move.... and then she did.
As she went for a right hook into his ribs Matrim would turn to the right, his left hand placed near his ribs and open, he would catch her bunch as he brought his right elbow around to slam it into Sara's right cheek. He would maintain a grip on her left fist, and after he delivered the elbow whether it hit or miss he would then through that fist straight toward her face. Around the time of impact or impact would occur if he were to hit her, he'd let go of her fist, take a step back with his right foot to put his left side toward her, and bring both fists up, left fist leading, creating a defense for her next attack.
"Don't rush in," Matrim said, "You're used to running full speed at your opponents, don't. Be a bit more cautious."

As Sara moved in for her punch to his ribs, he turned, catching her fist and holding it. There was a split second moment where she knew she was fucked, and then his elbow slammed into her cheek, knocking her head to the left. Instinctively, she brought her free arm up to her face to block anything else as she tried to orient herself. This would block his second punch, but just barely, and instead hurt her arm. At least she wouldn't be to stunned from a blow to the face.
And then he let go, taking a defensive stance. She took a few deep breaths as he spoke, sending him a quick look that clearly said nothing but "fuck off". Still though, she tried to take his advice, taking a more relaxed stance then his, arms raised slightly in front of her, fists lightly clenched, left leading.
She stepped forward cautiously and threw a jab for his chin with her right hand and stepped closer to him. Then quickly, hoping to have distracted him, her left arm would lift, now being horizontal, and she should be close enough that her left forearm would press against his left forearm, blocking it as she attempted to throw her right knee up at his abdomen.
His right arm would still be a problem, but there was a chance the elbow of her blocking arm would catch it, and if she was quick enough getting back, then there wouldn't be a problem.

Ironically.... his right arm doesn't do a god damn thing this entire post... until the end anyway.
Sara threw a quick Jab, Matrim took it, she put her left forearm up against his, he was fine with that. She brought her knee up to his abdomen.... big mistake girl....
While her knee started to go up, Matrim's left arm turned clockwise, counter clockwise for Sara, until his hand grabbed just above her elbow at the forearm. While her right leg was up, Matrim's left would sweep across his left foot to trip her off of her left foot, and make her fall to her right side. He took a hit to the abs to do this. Then, keeping hold of her arm but lowering it so she could hit ground. Matrim swung on his left foot, bringing that right foot around her arm so it was in between his legs before he fell back having ruined any chance of balance for himself.
End result? Once his legs straightened his left arm would be in an awkward angle pulling on that arm to keep it straight. One step away from an arm bar.......
And then Matrim would bring his right hand up to grip the inside of her forearm and pull, correcting his left hand to a less awkward position of holding onto her arm.
Taaaaadaaaaaaaaaaa.

The first part of the attack went well. She even thought the knee at his abdomen would go over well. But sadly, as usual when fighting Matrim, nothing ever went over well. She should have stopped when she was ahead...
His arm turned, something that hadn't even occurred to her sadly, and grabbed her arm just above the elbow. On one foot, he tripped her. Her knee connected, but it damn well wasn't worth it when she found herself falling on her side and then Matrim falling on top of her. She coughed out a breath as he landed, the wind knocked from her lungs from her fall.
Sara let out a little cry of surprise and pain as he finished putting her in the armbar, pulling on her arm, and then cut it short, trying not to give in. Since neither of them seemed to be going anywhere, she figured it would be a good time to see if there was possibly anyway out of this.
After trying a few things that involved a lot of squirming, and a fair bit of pain, but finding no way to free herself, she attempted a tap out. There was nothing she could do at this point. She either needed more strength, or better reflexes for next time.

Once Sara tapped out, Matrim freed her hand and pushed himself back with his hands now free, rolling back in a somersault. Once he was on his knees he shot up, "That was good, make sure you have your balance most of the time though. If you lose your balance try to get a grip on your opponent and bring them with you, if they are larger just try to keep balance whenever you can. Also, don't be so confident to put your arm right up on mine..." He said, and it was the truth, with her arm there it was only a snap movement away from being grabbed onto.
He then got back into a fighting position much like before, breathing a bit heavier and a little sweatier than when they started, he waved her on again, "But that was good, come at me again. Remember what I've been saying...."
She's good, she's getting better. She's learning from the fights we've been having.... probably learning from other fights as well....

Matrim finally let go of her and rolled away, getting back to his feet. Surprisingly uninjured for the first time when fighting him, she took a deep breath and pushed herself into a sitting position, working her shoulder. She listened to his critique trying her hardest to act as though she wasn't. He was probably the only person on earth who could tell her what to do and not lose a leg doing it. Mostly because she wouldn't get away with doing that to him anyways, but hell, she could use her imagination. Smiling now at that thought, she pushed herself to her feet.
"But that was good, come at me again. Remember what I've been saying...."
She faced him right on, again taking a more relaxed position then him, but similar to his, her left leading. This time, nothing fancy. Stepping forward quickly, she threw a quick right hook for his face, then attempted to elbow him in his right side with the same arm as she pulled it back. And then again, a quick retreat.

The right hook hit even though Matrim saw it coming. But with the elbow he dropped his right elbow to block, shooting his left fist in a straight jab for her right side, aiming for ribs, hopefully he'd connect with them before she retreated. But once she did he would pull back as well, and then go in with something a little different. He would side step in, and then square off just before spinning to the right, his right foot coming up, the back heel aiming toward her side. He would continue the motion kicking off of his left foot, aiming to hit her in the head with it, and if he had enough momentum to continue spinning at that point he would bring that right leg back around for one last shot aiming low at the outside of her right knee. If not, he'd land and dive away from her, diving into a somersault before getting up and returning to his boxing stance, facing her.

Sara managed to land her punch, but as she tried to move into the elbow, he blocked, his arm shooting out for her ribs. It connected and her side exploded in pain. Backing off, her hands going to her ribs she watched him closely, trying to catch her breath. She was damned and determined not to miss anything that might indicate what he was doing next and change the outcome of this fight.
She realized what was coming to late, taking the back of his heel in her side. Knowing she was screwed at this point, she used the opportunity to try to get away from him. As his kick connected, giving her the momentum she needed, she would throw herself off to the side, out of his range before any of his other attacks could land.
She landed on her side, hard, while trying to keep him in her sights. As long as he didn't attack her again, instead moving back into his boxing stance, she would push herself up onto her feet, hunched over, hands holding her sides. She was getting pissed, loosing control on her anger. She was failing miserably at this, and getting her ass kicked.
She decided to try something different this time. Straightening, she began to run at him, drawing her left fist back as though she was going for a straight hit. At the last second, her fist unclenched and she threw the punch early, aiming to grab his left wrist. Quickly side stepping and turning, she would attempt to twist his arm behind him, and then try to kick at the back of his knees, bringing him to the ground.

The first kick landed, which frankly, was enough for Matrim. But the movement left him a bit dizzy and winded as Sara came at him again he was going to sidestep and trip her, but last second she grabbed his wrist, and twisted it behind his back, which worked. Then a kick to the back of his knees made them give and he landed hard, stopping and deciding to teach her something.
"Grab my right wrist with your right hand," Matrim said holding it up, "Grab a hold of both tightly, put one foot against my back making sure you have your other foot back for balance, and then pull on my arms while pushing on your foot."
Matrim would take the hit, "Putting pressure like that can break arms, dislocate shoulders, and fuck up a back. It's submission, so at this point if you do this, ask for your opponent to give up if it isn't a serious fight. If it is, go for broke and don't ask twice before breaking their arms off."
Matrim would then say, "I tap," and once she let go he'd get up and back away and get back into a position, "You did good, ready for more?"

The moment he dropped, she knew something was different. Her whole attack had succeeded, but once he was on his knees, his arm twisted behind his back he didn't fight back. She hesitated. In any other fight it would have cost her greatly to hesitate, but she was sure there was something he wanted. And there was. Following his instructions, she grabbed his other wrist, shifted her footing for balance and pushed her foot against his back while pulling on his arms. It was interesting to see the hold from this point of view, and she was glad she wasn't the one in it. She couldn't see any easy way out of it, and from what he was saying, it sounded dangerous. "I tap." Her mind flipped back to their first fight in the hallways of 259. It felt like so long ago, when she had tried to surprise him with an attack when his guard was down. She had learned her lesson with a broken ankle. When someone tapped out, they tapped out. She let go of him, stepping away as he got up. "You did good, ready for more?" He praised her? She felt like a puppy getting attention. Her face flushed, and she smiled slightly. God, she was so transparent. She attempted to make it look like a sneer as she nodded, ready to move on. Not bothering with the boxing stance, she simply stepped forward, planting her left foot and aiming for a simple side kick with her right leg at his left side.
