Drea knew full well that she was weak - the pounding that she and the others had received from Katsuri only emphasized that fact. It didn't matter that he was eight feet tall and made of pure muscle. It didn't matter that he had years of practice under his belt and a body modified for violence.
There had been three of them - Ren, Mitsukai, and herself - and they'd still lost. They'd been trounced ridiculously easily, and despite the fact that she realized her weakness, the blatant show of the difference in power between them and Katsuri only made her burn with the need to grow stronger. She couldn't hide from the violence forever, and she needed to train her Qi as well.
Besides, like this, she might be able to blend into the crowds and hide away, but she was also the weak link of all of the people that looked after her. Katsuri, Emily... They'd be put at risk if anyone attempted to threaten them with her, and she absolutely couldn't allow that to happen.
Which was why she'd taken the initiative to call on Mitsukai. The girl had been quick on her feet and seemed to have a bit of power behind her punches - more than Drea had, anyways. She'd asked the other girl if she'd train with her: They could both learn from their fights, and perhaps grow stronger in the process.
She'd asked the other girl about it not too long after their pounding.
Now, though, Drea stood in a black T-shirt and gray stretchy pants. She wore sneakers and had done her hair in the same way she'd done before - braided and bound.
She waited within her home - within the large expanse of the empty room she'd had converted into a training room. It was easily the size of a ballet studio and looked similar to one with tempered glass mirrors on the walls. Mitsukai would be there soon, and then they'd be able to train.

Mitsukai was surprised when the girl named Drea had asked to train with her on the day Katsuri kicked their asses. She was surprised that the poor thing actually had the will power to want to keep going after a beating like that, and even more surprised that it was herself she had asked to train with. Mitsukai was tough and a stubborn fighter at that but she wasn't much of a fighter. Yet again she suppose she did have a bit more experience then Drea had and that must have showed during the fight. It wouldn't be too surprising then if that was the reason for it.
She smiled at the thought, remembering how Drea had done in the fight. She wasn't the strongest out of the three of them but she did have a lot of potential. She just had to get used to Katsuri's teaching style. Mitsukai knew it would be hard on the poor thing....it certainly was for her her first day but that was how training always was.
Mitsukai made her way to the room, wearing nothing but a black T-shirt and some black sweat pants. "Let's get started." She said when she walked in as she tied her long hair back into a ponytail and got into a fighting stance. Though Mitsukai wouldn't be as tough as their teacher she didn't plan to go easy on the other girl. If Drea wanted any chance to survive in this world she would have to learn to handle a beating. "Give me what you got."

Drea nodded at the other girl as she entered the room. "Let's get started," she announced herself, "Give me what you got."
"Of course," she breathed out, before formulating a form of attack. She'd see what worked best first, and then advance onto tactics.
The heiress nodded, taking a deep breathe, before darting towards Mitsukai, intent on closing in and taking a jab at her right shoulder before the girl could knock her away. Still, she wasn't sure if it would work or not because of Mitsukai's speed - if the girl threw out a limb to stop her, she'd latch on to it and thrust her own body to a side to twist the other girl's limb in some awkward manner. If she tried to duck out of the way, Drea would switch tactics, simply twisting and exerting a bit of pressure on her ankle as opposed to the knee and kick out with her other leg.

Mitsukai dodged the first blow, quickly moving to the side to avoid the hit. Drea was slower in comparison which would give Mitsukai the upper hand in this training session. Seeing the other girl advancing onto her next attack so quickly after her first attempt Mitsukai had dodged brought a small smile to her face. The girl was smart to already be thinking of ways to counter her like this. She would definitely become a fearsome opponent later on.
As Drea's leg came flying towards her Mitsukai did what Katsuri himself had done several times during their matches....She caught the other's leg and with a hard yank would try to make the girl fall on her back before trying to slam her foot in the other's stomach.
"Nice try but you will have to be faster then that." She said, she was trying to egg the girl on. After all anger was useful in a fight, it would be enough motivation to force Drea to bring out the best in herself.

Drea didn't have time to make any expression in particular when Mitsukai caught her leg, but she definitely felt a bit disappointed in herself for being so easy to capture. As a result, she'd reacted instantly, trying something she'd seen a couple of times in television... And also at the school itself. She allowed her torso to fall, but because Mitsukai was still holding her leg, she rested part of her weight on it, and turned slightly so as to rest her weight on an arm instead of landing flat on her back.
Next, she rotated as quickly as she could, bringing up her other leg in an attempt to strike Mitsukai in the side of the head. She figured that even if the kick didn't connect, Mitsukai would at least lose her grip on her and she'd roll away to get back to her feet.
She'd affirmed that she couldn't be so obvious in her attacks for one thing. For another, she'd learned that this... This might be fun. Especially if she began to see success in her attacks. After all, who didn't feel better about themselves when something they attempted went well?

Mitsukai's plan back fired on her as Drea used the used the momentum of the fall to send another kick her way. She was caught off guard and just barely dodged the hit, being forced to release the girl and back off a step so she wouldn't be hit. After Drea got up on her feet Mitsukai would tackle the girl to the floor. Pinning her down to ground with Drea's arms held above her head.

Drea got to her feet, only to see the other girl launching herself at her. She reacted not with the violent instinct she was trying to teach herself, but with the usual passive reaction. Instead of punching the girl as she came towards her, she turned to the side, recognizing that simply stepping aside was too slow to be efficient. As she turned, she lifted her the same leg she'd turned with - and not her pivoting foot - to kick Mitsukai in the stomach, leaning a bit to the side to add more of her weight, and thus more power, to the blow.
She was hoping the girl would balance out the blow. If it didn't connect, the full circle spin would have her facing Mitsukai once more, but if Mitsukai caught her foot, she'd probably lose her balance and fall... in which case, she'd twist again, this time trying to knock the other girl off balance as well.

Mitsukai took the blow to her stomach, letting out a small hiss of pain from the impact. Almost losing balance the girl would quickly straighten herself. Feinting a blow to the girl's ribs but instead would try to send a swift upper cut to Drea's stomach. Whether this move failed or not Mitsukai would then turn to get behind the girl and would attempt to kick her hard in her back.

Drea tucked her stomach in, unconsciously moving a step backwards, when she felt rather than saw the attack to her midsection. She took another step back, stumbled, and fell just before the actual hit. Because of that, when Mitsukai tried to get around her, she'd almost step on her, only a quick dodge keeping Drea out of harm's way, and Drea herself would take hold of Mitsukai's foot and yank as fiercely as she could to get the girl to fall.
As she moved, she turned over - it would add more difficulty for Mitsukai to keep her balance, and it would allow her to get back on her feet. Since she'd moved in a way that would have the other girl landing on her back she hoped to launch herself forward to squish the other girl beneath her, not realizing that she weighed less than she needed to in order to do so. Still, she hoped to at least wind the girl with what amount she did have, or a punch to the stomach if Mitsukai recovered in time.
If the other girl did recover, she'd try to get away in time, but she realized she might not because Mitsukai was faster than her.

She went crashing down to the floor. Letting out a his of pain as the other girl had tried to squash her with her own body. The blow had hurt but it didn't hurt her as badly as it could have. After all she had suffered worse from Katsuri, she had a good tolerance for pain. Mitsukai wouldn't allow Drea time to get free from her. Sending her knee for the girl's stomach before she could pull away. If she succeeded she would use that moment in the other girl's pain to pin the other girl down. Grabbing hold of her arms and pinning them as she would punch the her while she was vulnerable.
If the first move failed she would get up on her feet and use the momentum of her speed to launch herself at the Drea. Tackling the girl and send her crashing into the wall behind her. Hopefully with enough force to knock the breath out of her. She was not so sure if that plan would turn out so well. Being that she was smaller then the other girl even at this speed there was no guarantees that it would be as effective but it was worth a shot to pin her opponent and go in for the kill.

After landing her blow, Drea rolled away. She briefly realized that she was fortunate to be less angular than most people or the many roly-poly moves would've hurt. She was a bit slow getting to her feet and quickly landed on her back as Mitsukai tackled her. She had the sense to hold her neck and head carefully so they wouldn't collide with the ground, but that didn't stop her from getting winded.
It took a second for her to begin operating once more despite the pain in her chest, but she managed, using a leg as a lever to roll Mitsukai over so that she was on top. She sat on the other girl's hips, and then made an unconventional move.
She tickled her.

Drea caught her by surprise when she manage to pin her down instead. What Mitsukai had expected the other girl to do, since she did have the upper hand at this point was to pummel her. That would have been the sensible thing to do after all, Mitsukai would have done it without a second thought. But instead of the pounding she had expected to receive Drea did something quite unexpected......she tickled her.
Mitsukai had a major wtf moment while trying to hold back the laughter that was threatening to escape. Who tickled there opponent in the middle of a fight anyway? This had to be one of the most strangest things she had ever happen to her in a fight. Not the worse mind you...Katsuri had seen to that on their first match but it was definately one of the weirdest.
Unable to hold it back anymore Mitsukai burst out laughing. "Okay......okay.....I surrender...." she breathed, out of breath. She had to admit she was quite impressed with the other girl. She had not expected her to be as strong as she had been. There was a lot that she herself could learn from the other. She quite liked Drea, she was smart and quick on her feet. She would be the perfect training partner.

Drea sat back as the other girl sputtered out her surrender.
She removed herself from Mitsukai and stood, then offered a hand to the girl, a broad smile on her face. She wiped the sweat from her brow and nodded, quite satisfied. She thought she'd done pretty well. It had been a good spar.
"Looks like I win," she grinned. "But we definitely have got to do this again." Her grin turned a bit wolfish - a major change for Drea. Then again... She was on an adrenaline high, so perhaps it was to be expected.
"That... was surprisingly fun." Once Mitsukai was on her feet, Drea would drag her to the cart that had been laid out with a variety of snacks and drinks. She herself grabbed a bottle of water and a bag of chips before sitting at the bench. Then, she checked the time and wince.
"Sorry - I'll have to cut this short. I've got to get ready for a meeting. I'm sorry to have called you here and then to have left you, but feel free to use anything here. There's an arcade section downstairs," she rushed her words out as she replaced the bottle and chips.
Within moments, she'd all but run out of the room, and cries of "I'm laaaaaaaaate!" could be heard.

Mitsukai watched the other girl run off, laughing to herself. She didn't know why but Drea was growing on her very quickly. That had to be the second person in her life she might actually like besides Kevala. That was defiantly strange for a girl that was as anti-social as she was but ever since she had came to this school it seemed her attitude had begun to change. Maybe one day she just might get over that boundary that kept her from getting close to people after all.
Grabbing a quick bite to eat the girl would leave now. Today's little sparring match was done after all and Mitsukai needed to do more training. After all if she slacked off now she would never be able to beat Drea in their next fight.
