It was a quiet Saturday afternoon when Mitsukai had decided to go out for a walk. It was just one of those moments that the girl needed to stretch her legs and do something or else boredom would drive her insane. She moved through the streets not really paying much attention to where she was going. Mitsukai had gotten so used to this place by now that she did not need to get worried about becoming lost. Her feet would instinctively lead her home when she needed to leave.
She had been walking by the park when a sharp yowl reached her ear. She stopped in her tracks as she tried to pin point the direction of that noise. Something was not right and she was going to get to the bottom of it. That cry sounded again and then she heard a couple of other voices sound out as well.
"Shut up you stupid piece of shit!" Mitsukai followed the sound of the person who spoke. It sounded like some young kid, maybe only 10 years old or so.
"Hey what are you doing?" she called out as she approached. There were three young boys in a secluded spot in the park, huddled around something that she could not see. When the boys saw her approaching they got scared and ran off. Mitsukai snorted as she watch them leave not even bothering to chase them down. It was just a couple of punks doing some stupid shit after all why waste her energy dealing with them. Her gaze fell back on what the boys had been huddling over and in an instant she regretted not chasing them down and beating the ever loving crap at the little brats.
Laying in the spot the boys abandoned was a cat, most likely a stray and it was in poor condition. The boys had been hitting the poor thing, one of it's legs had been twisted in a odd angle. It was obvious the leg was broken. The poor thing could not even walk and it was crying out in pain.
She scooped the little thing up in her arms. Being careful not to injure the cat more, she tried to sooth and calm the little thing down as she tried to figure out what to do. The cat need medical attention but Mitsukai was no vet, nor did she know where a the vet was in this place. Even if she did Mitsukai did not have any money on her to pay for the treatment. She needed help but Kevala was out at the moment so no one was home. There was only one other person that might be able to help her, she just hoped she was available.
Taking out her cellphone Mitsukai would send a quick text message to Drea, saying that this was an emergency and she needed her to come immediately followed by directions to where she was. For now she would wait, cradling the crying cat in her arms. Cursing the brats that could do something to that could not protect itself. And hoping that Drea could help her out.

Drea was surprised when she'd gotten the text message. She'd only just completed her part in a rather important recital for her parents. Of course, she'd been shocked - Mitsukai was contacting her with an emergency? It was odd. Especially because Mitsukai was far closer to Kevala...
Unless the other girl was busy. Drea nodded affirmatively, making her decision on the spot. Seeking out her parents, she begged their pardon, but received their permission to head out for the rest of the day.
She thanked them and immediately left the hall, calling for her chauffeur on the way. He met her at the front, and she entered the limousine, quickly reading off the directions to her friend. As he'd long since known the streets, he was able to recognize its location.
She wished she had thought to bring alternate clothing to wear, but as it was, she was stuck in her black, formal evening gown. The only thing she had in the limo was an outfit that was several days stale and not particularly something she wanted to wear. It was in a duffel bag in the corner of the large vehicle.
Soon enough, they pulled up to her friend. Drea blinked, cocking her head to the side.
"Your emergency... was a cat?" her voice wasn't condescending or anything - but one of mild curiosity. Noting the odd angle and the state of the creature, she continued, "I suppose we'll need to visit a veterinarian."
She was certainly a dog-lover, but it didn't mean she disliked cats...
Especially when they were obviously in need of help.
"Is it safe to move it?"

"Your emergency... was a cat?"
Mitsukai could not help but blush.Yeah in a way this was kind of awkward and embarrassing. Mitsukai was still not used to asking others for help, and judging by Drea's outfit she must have interrupted something important. Though Mitsukai did not look like it but she was a animal lover, it was hard for her not to help a creature in need; especially if it was a cat. She was drawn to cats and they actually liked her back.
"Sorry to bother you.....but I didn't know who else to turn to." She said meekly.
"I suppose we'll need to visit a veterinarian." "Is it safe to move it?"
"It's a bit risky but we have no other choice." She said studying the injured feline in her arms. "So long as we are careful we won't do any further harm."

"Sorry to bother you... But I didn't know who else to turn to." Drea could tell that her kind friend was embarrassed. It wasn't a bad thing, really, but she didn't want her friend to feel bad for calling on her when she needed help.
"It's not such a big deal," she said. "Besides, it wasn't like you interrupted anything. We were finishing up with a recital anyways, so your timing was actually perfect."
"It's a bit risky but we have no other choice... So long as we are careful we won't do any further harm."
Drea nodded, suddenly thankful she had old clothes and a duffel with her. She pulled the bag from the vehicle with an apologetic look to the chauffuer. She unzipped it and pulled out her oversized T-shirt and laid it out flat on the ground. "This should be okay, right?"
After all, she hadn't had enough exposure to most animals to know how to react when they were injured. All she knew was that you had to be careful not to worsen injuries andnhad to keep them warm so they didn't go into shock from particularly bad injuries...
(Posting just got so much harder. D:)

"It's not such a big deal," "Besides, it wasn't like you interrupted anything. We were finishing up with a recital anyways, so your timing was actually perfect."
Well that was a relief, she had not interrupting at least. Mitsukai never liked being a burden on others, it was one of the reasons she never liked seeking help before.
She watched silently as Drea went back to her vehicle and pulled out a shirt and placed it neatly on the ground. To create a make shift stretcher to place the feline in.
"This should be okay, right?"
"I think so." She replied, gently placing the little creature and making sure it did not try to move she would take a hold of one end. Waiting for Drea to take the other side to lift the cat up together. "Do you know where the nearest vet is?" She asked hopefully.

"I think so," her friend said, moving the cat onto the makeshift stretcher. Drea dutifully moved to the other side and helped to move that cat into the car. She vaguely heard her friend asking about the veterinarian.
" I don't know. I've never needed to know..." she felt bad for letting her friend down, "But my driver should..."

" I don't know. I've never needed to know..." "But my driver should..."
That was not the words she had hoped for but it was not that surprising. She did not know if Drea had even had a pet before, and if she did why would she know where a vet would be in this place? Oh well it was a shot in the dark. Hopefully the driver would have a better idea. Time was of the essence and the poor little thing was in enough pain as it is. They had to hurry as soon as possible.
Moving the cat into the car Mitsukai would make sure that it was properly positioned. She didn't know much about how to handle injuries but she knew the slightest bump or sudden movement would increase the little things pain. They would have to be careful as they drove.
Once the cat was settled in Mitsukai would get inside, waiting for Drea to follow suit. Once inside she would turn to the driver. "Can you take us to the nearest Vet please?" she asked.

The driver would look to Drea, but she nodded and the man wordlessly began driving. He knew full well that money wasn't a concern to them.
"I'm sorry I can't be of more help," Drea apologized. She truly did feel bad about it, but not so much that her observant eyes missed any of Mitsukai's behavior. The other girl was obviously empathizing strongly with the cat.
What Drea wanted to know, though, was whether it was because she simply liked cats or because she had undergone similar abuses.

"I'm sorry I can't be of more help,"
"You are more helpful then you think." she replied honestly. "I didn't even know what to do. If you had not come then this little guy might not have even got help in time." She gently stroked the feline, glad that though it was in pain it did not flinch from her touch. Such a trusting little thing. She thought sadly, it was that trusting nature that ultimately lead the feline to be abused. Most strays avoided humans after a period of time, they learned not to trust them.....others ended up like this or worse.
Mitsukai knew that this world was a harsh place, where everyone picked on those that were weaker then themselves. Though she had long ago accepted this thought she still found herself disgusted at times by such behavior. The cat had done nothing wrong so why did those brats have to hurt it? It was sickening.
She would turn back to Drea driving those thoughts away as she smiled at her friend. "Thank you for doing this. It really means a lot to me." She meant that. Since coming to this place her view on the world had slowly began to change without her realizing it. Though the world was cruel she knew that there were a few good people out there that gave a shit about others and Drea was one of those people. That was what she liked most about her.

Drea blushed at the thanks. She wasn't often thanked. She rather liked it. Still, she was no fool. Mitsukai was probably being overly kind. Mitsukai was nice like that, after all.
She shook her head. "No, it's nothing. I'm sure anyone would have done the same." she said. "It's just too bad that there are just as many, if not more, people that like to harm and hurt."
Drew nodded towards the kitten. Then she smiled at Mitsukai. "But not many people would've stopped to help a stray. I must say, Mitsukai... You're an amazing person."

Mitsukai blushed again, yeah she was a bit odd like that. Mitsukai rarely helped other people, preferring to stay out of others affairs unless the mood struck her or in someway could benefit her in the long run. But when an animal was in trouble she did not even hesitate to aid it. Mostly because an animal would not ask anything of her, or even betray her, She could not help it when it came to matters like these. It certainly would seem out of character to those that knew the girl.

Drea smiled softly at her friend's blush. Mitsukai obviously wasn't complimented as many times as she should be. Her driver turned to speak to them for a second.
"Five more minutes, misses," the man said before returning his attention to the traffic light.
"Thank you," Drea said politely, still smiling a silly little grin.

"Five more minutes,misses,"
She breathed a small sigh of relief, they were almost there and that meant the little guy could get the treatment that it needed. There was only one small problem....the issue of money. Mitsukai turned back to her friend she hated to ask Drea this but it needed to be done.
"I know this is a lot to ask but I don't have any money on me to pay for it's medical bill. Can you help me out with that? I will pay you back as soon as I have the money." There was no way that Mitsukai would ask for so much with out intending to pay the girl back. She might be wealthy but that was no excuse to mooch off of someone. Her pride would not allow her to do such a thing.

Drea turned back to her friend with a smile, but quickly blinked when she heard her sigh.
"I know this is a lot to ask but I don't have any money on me to pay for it's medical bill. Can you help me out with that? I will pay you back as soon as I have the money."
Drea shook her head, but spoke kindly.
"I'll not lend you any money," she said softly, "Because I intend on paying in full."
She nodded to the cat. "I'll feel bad otherwise, seeing as I didn't even know what to do."

"I'll not lend you any money," "Because I intend on paying in full."I'll feel bad otherwise, seeing as I didn't even know what to do."
That was incredibly sweet of Drea. She knew the girl was kind but this was outrageously generous. She didn't have to pay for the entire bill, it would be too much.
"It's okay I don't want to just stick you with the entire bill you have done enough to help me as it is." she said. "At least let me pay you back for half of it, I'd feel like I was taking advantage of you." She continued to stroke the cat as she thought about another issue at hand. The feline was obviously a stray so it did not have a home. Even when they got the vet to take care of it where would the cat go? Mitsukai would love to keep it of course, she had always wanted a pet of her own but what about Kev? Would she mind having a new addition to the house? Even Kevala did not want to keep it someone still had to care for it as it's leg healed but afterwards what would they do about it?
She would have to think about that issue later, for now she had to concentrate on getting the cat some help.
