Matrim was walking down the streets of Long Beach, how original.... okay let's change this up. He was running, chasing after your everyday punk. Matrim had came across a horrible site, a young girl in an alley.... something done to her...
He had been too late.
Matrim chased after the guy for a bit before finally catching up to him in another alleyway. The guy was scared, tripping over a trash can, and falling down, he was on his back, trying desperately to get away from Matrim when he got up and turned toward the way he was going he realized it was a dead end.
Matrim slowly headed toward the guy who grabbed a piece of scrap metal and tossed it to Matrim who smacked it aside as he approached the guy, third and fourth arms appearing under the original two as he got in front of him, the man screamed and Matrim's lower arms grabbed the mans arms, pinning him against the walls of the dead end, the upper left hand went to the guys mouth, and the last remaining right hand wrapped around the guys throat.
"Funny, just like that girl, you'll meet your end in an alley...." Matrim said as he started applying pressure to the mans throat, closing off the airway. He was lost in his aggression, not thinking of his actions, only of the consequences he wanted this man to face....

Tara was on her way home from the school. Her mom had taken the car today so she had been forced to walk. And while she had been going to just skip the whole day, she needed to go talk to one of the teachers. Quite pointless to go in for the whole... What? Half hour just to talk to him? And now she needed to walk all the way back home.
At the same time, she had been hoping to run into Matrim again, but she hadn't seen him at all. Not that she had looked very much, but she was eager to try to talk to him. After their fight at the club, she had been nearly obsessed with him. He was such an amazing fighter... She wanted to fight him again, get stronger... She wanted to know what had happened that night at the club. She had a feeling it had something to do with him and the girl he was with.
A crash sounded down the ally she was passing. She stopped, straining her eyes to see what was going on. Probably a cat. Or nothing. She remained in the spot for another few moments, her eyes adjusting to the dimness. Her hands were stuck in the pockets of her jeans, a loose black t-shirt falling just above her hips. There was a loud scream... Tara doubted a cat could do that. She pulled her hands out of her pockets and stepped into the mouth of the ally, moving quickly towards the back where she saw some guy was pinning another guy to a wall.
"... you'll meet your end in an alley...."
Dammit... What had she just walked in on? Without a second hesitation, she grabbed the lid to a trashcan and whipped it at the guy doing the pinning. "Hey! Back off man, what the hell?!" She took another step forward and it was then that she realized who it was. Matrim... With four arms? That was... What the hell?! She had figured she might have a chance against the guy, but realizing it was Matrim? Ya, no chance at all... She wondered if he'd recognize her. Maybe she could just... run away or something...

"Hey! Back off man, what the hell?!" A voice had said, a trash can lid smacking against Matrim's head. He didn't even react to who it was, he didn't care, he was pissed off and he was distracted while causing this man pain. He wanted to kill him and his aggression just changed course. It was called kicking the dog, she wasn't the direct cause of his anger, she just happened to be there. Matrim whipped around, throwing the guy headfirst at the girl's chest.
He didn't say anything, by the time he had realized it was Tara from that fighting ring, it would have been too late then. He quickly retreated those extra arms, his hands going into his pockets. If the guy hit he would say, "Are you alright?" If not he would simply wait for her to respond before saying anything, his eyes looking down and to the right as he stood there in the alley.
Fuck.... why the hell did someone have to get involved with this.... he should die... but I don't have the drive to do it anymore... maybe she will... who knows?
"He deserves to die," Was what Matrim would say, a cold look meeting her eyes regardless of the outcome of the throw.

The trashcan whipped into his head and she flinched back, realizing far to late it probably hadn't been a smart move. He turned, tossing the guy at her. He hit her chest, the two of them falling to the ground. Tara grunted, shoving the guy off her and rolling onto all fours as she checked him over.
He was knocked out, probably from lack of oxygen. At least... Tara thought he was knocked out. He seemed to still be breathing though, so she turned her gaze back to Matrim who was now back to two arms and staring at the ground. "I'm fine, thanks, but what the hell is this all about?! Are you nuts?!"
"He deserves to die."
The look on his face sent a shiver of fear through Tara, but she held her ground, pushing herself to her feet and taking a step towards him. "And who are you to decide that?! Whatever he did, leave it to the police. It's not your place to just... kill people!" In her anger, she grabbed a piece of scrap metal and whipped it at him.

"And who are you to decide that?! Whatever he did, leave it to the police. It's not your place to just... kill people!" This time when she threw the piece of metal Matrim caught it perfectly between two fingers just before it hit his shoulder, he dropped it to the floor, his eyes not changing in the least. He would let her know what he saw...
"He killed a young girl not but a few minutes ago. When I found them, he was stabbing her. She was naked, and she had his... he had done more than kill her. He raped her, and murdered her. When I say young, I don't mean our age..." He said he bent down, picking up the scrap metal, tossing it to her, "The man before you will probably spend the rest of his life getting three square meals a day in a prison. Which despite what you may think of them, are a lot safer than you'd imagine nowadays. But he ended a life, he doesn't deserve to live. He deserves death."
Matrim would let her make the decision knowing what he knew. The scrap metal would probably be sharp enough to kill the guy if she used it right after all.

Tara was surprised when he caught the piece of metal. His abilities were... A lot stronger then she had thought after the one fight with him. She watched it hit the ground knowing that after her injury at the club, she stood no chance here at all. She started to wonder if everyone in the school was like this, but hadn't yet had the chance to get into many fights, nor the inclination. She had heard though that the public school systems were known for their fighting. And it was probably because of guys like this...
"He killed a young girl not but a few minutes ago. When I found them, he was stabbing her. She was naked, and she had his... he had done more than kill her. He raped her, and murdered her. When I say young, I don't mean our age..."
Tara's eyes went wide with shock as she looked down at the man. Inside her, a battle was raging. One instinct told her to kill him, the other told her to search for the evidence whether this was true. Another instinct told her to just walk away, and yet another told her to call the police and let them deal with it. She felt angry and sick. Why had she gotten involved? Why couldn't she just walk away for once? She roughly caught the piece of metal as he tossed it to her.
"The man before you will probably spend the rest of his life getting three square meals a day in a prison. Which despite what you may think of them, are a lot safer than you'd imagine nowadays. But he ended a life, he doesn't deserve to live. He deserves death."
She was shaking as she stared down at him. What the hell was wrong with Matrim. He hadn't seemed like this sort of person to her... Then again, she had only known him for a total of what? 5 minutes during a fight? And then a few minutes at the club? The metal fell from her hand, dropping to the ground, as she turned a smile to Matrim. "Ya... no... I uh... Ya... You do what you gotta do..."
She turned and stumbled out of the ally into the street. Looking around, she leaned back against the wall of the front of the building and took a deep breath, debating what to do now. It really depends on how quickly Matrim did whatever he was going to do.

"Ya... no... I uh... Ya... You do what you gotta do..." She said dropping the metal and Matrim nodded as he looked over at her closing his eyes and his head dropping for a moment. She was right, it wasn't right to kill him. Either way someone would have called the cops by now. Matrim stepped forward. The guy started to come to...
"Here's what you are going to do," Matrim said toward the murderer, "You are going to do your best to survive your way to the police station and or hospital, and you are going to turn yourself in. Or kill yourself, but whatever you do you are not going to hurt anyone else, got me?"
"What do.. you mean survive.. hospital?"
"I won't kill you," Matrim said, lunging out suddenly and punting the guy out of the alley and into the traffic of a main road, "A car might."
Matrim turned toward Tara, "He has a chance, it's more than I would have given him before," He said, "You're a good person. Trustworthy, forgiving, it's a good quality. Be careful with it, most people will take advantage of that."
He then smiled and waited for her reaction.

Tara ran her hand over her face sucking in a deep breath. This was to much. Really. This was NOT how she wanted to meet Matrim again. Not like this. Her eyes scanned the street and people, wishing she had a cell phone to call someone... Anyone... She needed to find a payphone--
She was cut off when a body suddenly flew out of the ally into the road. Cars skidded to a stop, as the body disappeared in the confusion. There was a loud thump noise though, which led Tara to believe he had probably been hit... And from the yelling now... Probably seemed more like a definitely.
Her mouth hung open in shock as she watch people pulling out their cellphones and calling for the police and ambulance. Others used their phones to take videos and pictures.
"He has a chance, it's more than I would have given him before. You're a good person. Trustworthy, forgiving, it's a good quality. Be careful with it, most people will take advantage of that."
Her face turned more serious. She didn't know what to think. She almost wished she hadn't walking in on what was happening and Matrim had finished him off. But... There might be more to it...
A body falling in the middle of the road though from seemingly out of nowhere? The police would comb the area and find the body, for sure... Right? Next was the issue of Matrim being able to punt a body like that. Her ran her eyes over him, taking him in. She was struck again with a sense of astonishment. He was cute, and was a lot stronger then he looked. "We... We should get out of here..." She turned and started to walk the way she had been going, towards her house. Had he followed, she would turn her nervous, skeptical eyes up to him. "They'll find her right?" Then, with a shake of her head, "I live around here." She gestured vaguely ahead. "Wanna grab a drink or something? Or we can go to my place for a drink, doesn't matter." She paused nervously. "I had been uh... Looking for you actually..."

Looking for you actually..." She said and he nodded, looking over at her and thinking about it, she did seem to put a lot of faith in him that she stuck around, so he started down the alley toward the sidewalk of the main road.
"Your place is fine, if you're comfortable with that. Otherwise I really don't know this area too well," He said, "Thought I would check out a place I might like to take Sara... and then...." He trailed off looking over at the body, he was still moving a little bit, which meant he was still trying to survive at least. Matrim turned toward Tara, "You've been looking for me you said? In that case, take me to your place and we'll talk there, alright?"
He was a little shaken up from what he had seen today, he had seen a bit more than he should have. A bit more than anyone should have, "Lead the way..."

"Your place is fine, if you're comfortable with that. Otherwise I really don't know this area too well. Thought I would check out a place I might like to take Sara... and then...."
Tara followed his gaze to the guy, now visible twitching on the road. Her expression was sad as she watched him, trying to figure out what the world was coming to. She looked back to Matrim wondering what the hell she was thinking. She was actually going to bring him back to her home after what had just happened? What if he had been lying? Or... I don't know, there were a million possibilities and it didn't seem right to bring him back to her home.
But she wanted answers about what had happened that night and she wanted to... Fight him again... Maybe more then once... They had fought well together and he seemed so... strong. He would, if he was willing, be able to help her become stronger and get back to where she was before the injury.
"You've been looking for me you said? In that case, take me to your place and we'll talk there, alright? Lead the way..."
"What? Oh... Right..." Tara took one last glance at the guy in the street before turning away and towards her place at the next corner. She would walk in silence mostly, until they reached the small building. Walking up the steps to the front door, she smiled nervously at Matrim. "It's not much but.. It's home."
She pulled her keys from the pocket and unlocked the door. A moment later, on the same floor, she unlocked the door to her apartment and led him inside. Her mom was thankfully at work... Which was kind of the reason she had been out in the first place... Small world...
She pulled out a pack of smoke and lit one for herself, gesturing for him to take a seat at the table. The apartment was small but nicely decorated, courtesy of her mother. It had a 'homey' feel to it despite the fact that there was only a couch and a recliner, a small tv and a coffee table in the living room, and simply a dining room table and some chairs. His choice to sit anywhere. Taking a pull off the smoke she would offer the pack to him, dropping it on the table for him to take from. "Anything to drink? You look like you could use one. We got pretty much anything, but nothing expensive..." She leaned against the wall, waiting for him to answer.

"Anything to drink? You look like you could use one. We got pretty much anything, but nothing expensive..." She asked as he stepped into the place, he noticed it was better than his first place when he lived here, and from the looks of things she didn't live alone. Still, it didn't sound like anyone else was here, which meant they were there alone. Of course, Matrim being clueless to what that might imply to most people.
"I don't... I'll just have water," He said, deciding not to get into the not drinking bit and talking about why that was probably the worst idea on the planet for him right now, "You said there was something you wanted to talk to me about?" He said as he found a spot on the couch to sit. He leaned back and let out a breath to relax. He felt as though he could sleep for days because of how emotionally draining that had been.
What in the world would she need to talk to me about? Weird... maybe it was about that place... who knows....

"I don't... I'll just have water."
She nodded, pushing off the wall and turning into the kitchen. She grabbed two glasses from the cupboard and then filled his with a jug in the fridge filled with water. One of those Brita things. She didn't care for them much, but figured he might appreciate the gesture. For herself, she grabbed a can of coke and filled her glass, then reached back in the cupboard and added a drop of rum to her drink. She sighed and took a quick sip of her own drink before walking back into the living room. She dropped into the recliner after putting his glass in front of him.
"You said there was something you wanted to talk to me about?"
She took another sip from her glass before she answered him. She relaxed in the chair, eying him for another moment before she spoke. "Ya... Two things actually. The first... I want to know what happened that night at the club." Tara's gaze dropped, her cheeks flushing. "I saw you there, I know I did. I got hurt that night, haven't been the same since. Burned and shot actually." She turned her eyes to him now, watching for any reactions. She was prepared at this point for the worst. That he wouldn't care. But she still hoped that on some level he understood why that frustrated her. "I just want to know why I was hurt. What the hell was going on that night?"

Matrim took a drink of the water, thinking about what had happened, "Zeek," Matrim said, "His father ran the place, and well, he apparently wasn't the best at being an honest businessman. Because of my betting his father was going to lose over half a million dollars. I think he got a little more than pissed. Also, Sara beat this Carolyn chick who's father was some mafia guy. Anyway, Zeek confronted his father who had killed his mother one thing lead to another and his father died, Zeek and me and Sara had to fight off a bunch of Mafia guys, got shot up, nearly died, Zeek even more so than the rest of us and well..."
He thought about it, "That about covers it," He said looking over at her as he took another drink from his water, "So you said there was a second thing?" Matrim explaining the first one was probably strange considering how little he put into the story, as if it had been no big deal, nor did he really take into account she had been burned and shot into his reactions.
It's a good thing she's alright then....
"We decided to burn the place down," Matrim suddnely would add, "Our bad...."

"That about covers it. So you said there was a second thing?"
Tara simply sat there, her mouth hanging open as she watched him. That covered it? That didn't damn well cover it!! He acted like it was no big deal, but it was. People were hurt, people died. She had almost died. They had almost died. That was a damn big deal!
She knew it was the truth though because had mentioned something along those same lines. She hadn't known though that he had been so involved in what had happened that night. Something she was going to have to talk to him about. She dropped her gaze to the coffee table, trying to figure out how exactly she felt about it. She had expected excuses. Instead, he had told her the straight up story. No bullshit. But no remorse either, no regret, no feelings on her injuries.
"We decided to burn the place down. Our bad...."
..... "Your bad?" She suddenly stood, glaring down at him. "I was still in there! There were still innocent people in there!" She ran her hand through her hair, pissed that she was getting so worked up. She took a deep breath and dropped back into her seat, picking up her drink and taking a large sip to settle herself.
She lit another smoke and leaned back in her seat, her eyes closed. "Like I said, I was hurt pretty bad. Haven't been the same since, weaker, slower. I'm looking for a way to build myself back up, and since..." She glared at him, "You burnt down the only place to legally fight at, I need another way of building my strength back. I joined that club at school, but I need more then that." She finished her drink as she finished talking, draining the cup and dropping it back onto the table, the alcohol already flooding her brain.

"You burnt down the only place to legally fight at, I need another way of building my strength back. I joined that club at school, but I need more then that."
"Then I suggest you find someone strong," Matrim said, "Someone who can really make you work for it. Also, someone more at your level with to spar. If you're after me training you, you're in my club, fight with people in the club after club hours. Or if this is your roundabout way of asking me to spar with you that's fine with me too," He said, talking like it was no chore since he liked fighting, "Just don't blame me if I accidentally hurt you."
She actually cares about people getting hurt. But news for her, nobody there was innocent, far from it considering the knives they were packing. They all had screwed up reasons for being there, in the end though, none of us were innocent. And Thus ends my existential thoughts....
"So is that what you're getting at? Because I'm really warning you, our fight... I was holding back majorly. Not to piss you off or insult you but I mean it, so you can get angry at me for saying it but I wasn't geared up and I wasn't using Qi." He said. She probably didn't know what that was... which would open up a whole other conversation altogether.
