For just once. Couldn't the weather just stay pleasant, just once the weather people be right and not elude a person with an obvious sense of optimism who had hour long classes in the morning and the inability to quickly transpire from spring dress to trench coat be gifted with one chance of luck? One could only hope. An average height female dressed in her mellow orange spring dress had managed to escape behind jeans but now stood hovering in the door sill of her SAT prep class.
Somewhere along the lines she hoped that glaring long enough into the musky rain drenched mid-day that by powers endowed in her she'd manage to part the tireless rainclouds like the red sea. To no avail Jayr would quickly trot off at a high speed, almost inhuman, as she bolted across the yard to another overhanging pass.
Luckily for her, with much abated sarcasm, today had been a concert day, some band taking up a number of people's attentions over the horizon. The sound of it didn't attract Jayr in the slightest sounding a bit too much like a pre-puberty ridden boy. However unpopular this boy was to Jayr it seemed he was proving just the opposite by ticket sales bolstering the city's economy by stalling traffic and forcing a flow of income. As a result Jayr had to cross what was about four city blocks to get to her car.
And that was just getting there.
A slight frown however Jayr would press on tossing a lock of hair over her shoulder and striding onwards as she went. Quietly and into the dark and damp walkways of Laguna Beach. She'd stop to take a deep breath as she stood in an underpass lingering beneath the high way just above her. Dry.

Never listen tot he weather people on TV, that was a lesson that Tsubame had learned a very long time ago. So when it had been said that it was going to be sunny and yet she saw overcast on the horizon she had had her doubts. So over her normal attire of a blouse and skirt she had worn her large black trench coat and had brought an umbrella with her. So now with the pouring rain she found that she was well prepared. She had opened her umbrella and had started the long trek home.
She had paused to button up her trench coat to prevent the whole white see through problem. Not that there was anyone around but one could not be too careful. She looked over and saw that someone under a nearby underpass. She took a few steps towards then. "Hey you ok?" It was a girl..and she looked familiar. As she got closer she identified her as the girl whom had broken up the fight a while back. "You listened to the weather report didn't you?"

Wishing I had. "Hey you ok?"
Jayr turned up rather slowly looking fairly uncomfortable all things considered with her hair matted to her skin looking not at its most elegant but managing to not look entirely hopeless all things considered. Her reply in itself would come slowly letting her hands trail up to her face and grabbing the remnants of wet locks in her hands before twisting it to rinse the water out and tossing it over her shoulder and appear at the very least a bit more composed.
"Yea I'm fine, just a bit wet." Jayr would smile in a reassuring expressing all the same feeling slightly at odds.
Of course she recognized the girl but bore no hard feelings considering they'd only bumped into each other once, no doubt a heated moment anyone could've made mistakes. In fact both of them were wrong and right in their own ways. With the lines left undefined and grey things could have gone drastically worse.
"You listened to the weather report didn't you?"
A short insecure laugh coming from Jayr momentarily as she lurched up and approached slowly sticking to the overpass area to remain as dry as could be despite the damp air.
"Shamefully so, and my early mornings have betrayed me at last." Jayr would joke vainfully laughing at herself hoping to spark at the very least a conscious conversation but figuring it needed more of a push.
"I know you from somewhere right?" Jayr would provoke the question knowing the answer already but considering she'd feel reassured in herself for requesting a better definition of themselves. "I'm Jayr." She'd speak with a bouncy voice despite her damp appearance, erecting a hand to shake nicely.

"Yes I tend to listen to weather reports.. unless the weather tends not to listen to that report." Tsubame smiled a bit ass he stepped into the underpass lowering her umbrella and looking out at the rain. It was really coming down and she felt a bit sorry for the girl as she seemed to have a long walk ahead of her as there were no parked cars in sight.
She heard the girl speak her name and she smiled as she grasped the hand and shook it. "I'm Tsubame it is a pleasure I suppose to meet you formally." She nodded as she looked back out at the rain. and then her her large umbrella. "Hey..' Tsubame blushed a bit. "You..would you like to share the umbrella? after all no sense in getting too drenched"

Cordially So. "I'm Tsubame it is a pleasure I suppose to meet you formally."
Jayr would laugh lightly feeling a tinge of embarrassment considering the quick reflection, despite Tsubame's response being very considerate towards its implication Jayr knew very well she remembered their last encounter. At least Jayr had solved one things about the girl. Despite the tough appearance she'd given off she was by all implications kind hearted.
"Hey.. You..would you like to share the umbrella? after all no sense in getting too drenched"
Looking up with pink cheeks Jayr would smile brightly hinting at the excitement of the ideal. "Would you really? I mean, sure if its not too out of the way for you?"
Jayr would scuttle over at a fast pace crossing closely towards Tsubame hoping if she'd move quickly it'd move things along and not get the girl impatient with Jayr as the rest of 259 had been reacting to her paced transgressions.
If Tsubame would follow her lead Jayr would take to a quick pace slowing to even their steps and walk as equals considering it symbolic in a sense of her latter intentions. "So I'm sorry about coming off like such a bitch last time we bumped into each other." still the flushed red expression focusing at her face first to see a reaction then back down towards the walkway forward pacing herself again, "Its just....yeah."

"It is just what?" Tsubame cocked her head to the side as they walked. She had at first quickened her pace to match that of Jayr's but now had slowed slightly as too fast a pace would cause them to get splashed and on such a day she could do without getting any colder. She glanced over at Jayr as they walked thinking back to when they had first met even if it was only briefly. She had seen her as someone who did not have the nerve or will to do what had to be done, instead opting to be naive and too merciful.
Tsubame would snap back to the conversation at hand. "When people say 'It's just...' then trail off like that normally there is more to be said. And in this case I'm sure there is not exception, so tell me just what is it? It's just what?"

Aggression. "It is just what?"
Jayr flinched slightly hearing her reaction and taking it as fairly aggressive considering her own position, then again no one had ever really called her out on much of anything so it was only natural for her to react in such a way. Her pace would slow to match Tsubame's taking her time to consider what she meant. She wasn't sorry for what she'd done. Reasonably she'd handled with the trouble makers the attempted rapists whereas she also productively halted the violence.
"When people say 'It's just...' then trail off like that normally there is more to be said. And in this case I'm sure there is not exception, so tell me just what is it? It's just what?"
Jayr would stop, her body angling towards Tsubame focused and controlled still lingering in thought to figure her own answer. Did she even have one?
"Its just that there is a better use for violence." Jayr would reply back in a cold abrupt stop.
She held true to her convictions and neither was upset nor pitied Tsubame for her position. They merely differed in a way as most people did. The greater goal however was working to understand that divide and learn to accept each other for choices. And often times as Tsubame displayed, call them out.
"I don't agree with that method of problem solving, while the original actions were justified the proliferation of violence only further escalated a petty act."
Speaking about rape as Petty was a drastic change in character for her considering it was after all her biggest fear. Though at a school like this she had to toughen up and imagine a much larger extent of atrocities.

"Perhaps..your argument is not without validity" Tsubame would pause her step before taking a step back to catch up with Jayr's dead stop as she spoke. The girl seemed the type who believed that all but the most extreme situations could be solved with words or other peaceful means. It was not wrong to think such a thing not the in slightest but still...
Tsubame would sigh before she spoke again. "You must realize..I do not think myself a peace keeper nor one who believes they can change the world for the better or for the worse. i leave that to those with such a foolish ambition and the power and time to pursue it" She would pause to take a breath " Still when someone is in trouble i cannot just turn my back and if I am attacked with violence I will respond in kind but I do not escalate the fight...I allow them to do that..forgive me..that was quite a ramble"

Lacking Concrete. Jayr couldn't help but feel as though they weren't being entirely one on one with one another. Then again what reason did Tsubame have to trust Jayr? They had barely known each other at all, let alone the fact that they were on such different levels as far as understanding in the world. Tsubame a clear realist, while Jayr held Ideology in high regard. Respect being the only thing she supposed that kept them from being blatant enemies.
"You must realize..I do not think myself a peace keeper nor one who believes they can change the world for the better or for the worse. I leave that to those with such a foolish ambition and the power and time to pursue it"
"Why?" Jayr would pipe in, taking a stand to ask Tsubame that very essential question that drove people.
She could take it as she liked. Why could mean so many things when one had opened up a statement like that. It could be simply the questioning of Why are you so dead set on reality as it is now. Why not further everything, set ambitions aside and work towards a common goal or even a selfish one if that be it. Why be stagnant in a place of no forward movement be that upward or downward. Why the Status quo?
" Still when someone is in trouble i cannot just turn my back and if I am attacked with violence I will respond in kind but I do not escalate the fight...I allow them to do that..forgive me..that was quite a ramble"
Jayr would stop and remain quiet to hear Tsubame out patiently pausing long enough to soothe her own thoughts concerning just that.
"No its good to know." Jayr would say all the same with a bright peppy smile enjoying having heard someone as opinionated leave their mark. Jayr did after all have a lot to learn. "So I know this is forward and everything but." Jayr would pause a second to let the words hover in the air taking a calm breath before projecting outwards.
"You want to hang out sometime? I mean after this craziness and all." Jayr would smile a bit bubbly trying to make a new friend of sorts in her own way.
