"I'm telling you, its the fuckin' master cylinder bro!"
David reached inside, ticking his greased fingers against the throttle, letting the engine rev. Everyone here knew him as Damien Lock, since letting on he was David Blaze would only get him either fired or a shit load of publicity. He worked there, every so often, simply because he liked to let himself know that he was just a normal guy. He was, in many ways. Rich, and powerful, yes, but inside he was no better than anyone. He loved the feeling of working with his hands, of seeing the gratitude face to face with someone when they couldn't afford the repairs he just did, and assured them he would pay the difference. He didn't do it because he wanted to flaunt himself, he did it for the magic of helping someone else. He looked back at Jack, the other mechanic.
"Jack, if it was the Master, the car wouldn't sound this way. In fact she probably wouldn't be running. Hoist her up, see what shes got under her, and get back to me. Remember, its not always the worst possible problem."
He took the rag from the back of his black Jumpsuit, his name written in italics on the tag, right over his heart. Damien. The name of his brother. He wiped off his hands a little, looking to the couple who had brought it in. He spoke a few moments with them, talking about what might be possibly wrong with it, and how it might be best if it stayed over night. They gave a nod before leaving, and as he turned around, he let out a little breath. Nothing was ever truly easy. He owned the place, in a way. He lead the management, but there was the CEO above him. Sitting in a cushion seat, up top. Large chain, you didn't need to be in the grit. He respected the guy- he was nice, and definitely cared about his workers. Wanted David up there with him...
But David loved it here. Wouldn't change it for the world. He walked toward the entrance, looking down at the clipboard that someone handed him as he made his way there. A small, out of the way part of town, "Everest Mechanics and Diagnostics" was a perfect place for him to work. Out of the way...and far distant from 259. So far, he had yet to be discovered...
So far.

For what its worth A weekend looming over the very present hill and Jayr was without a ride, as a matter of fact her car was in disrepair after an unfortunate incident of letting Dylan drive. While her friend was a very convincing drunk driver at the time the evidence was clearly stated on the front bumper of the 2010 Camero being newly towed into the mechanics office. An otherwise mellow display on her face as Jayr walked her way to the mechanics. The clack of heels against the cement flooring as they'd follow up a set of long drawn out legs to a pair of short jean pants and a white blouse, worn over that Jayr would have the signature Eclipse Dragon Coat settled on her shoulders, the insignia scrawled in the inner linings out of sight for a specific reason.
"So whats the damage?"
Jayr would speculate quickly from the tow truck driver who would look it over quickly before giving her a shrug. His hand carrying up to his toothpick and flicking it across the room into a nearby bin. The small stick ricocheting off the edge of the tin can with a dull ting.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
She'd reply with a bit of desperation to his response not liking that he was not giving her a direct reply. Being left in the dark was never any fun least not for her. The man would turn back hanging off the door's handle.
"Do I look like a mechanic?"
Jayr would shake her head as a no feeling slightly ashamed that she wasn't being all too attentive this morning. Clearly Dylan was to blame for that part. A small glower secretly plotting the blonde girl's demise. Though the harshest punishment of the lot was doing laundry and dishes for a week. Sadly Jayr lacked maniacal creativity.

David stopped, talking a moment with one of the mechanics who had just got a cash payout. He took the check, folding it up and placing it into the front pocket of his shirt, watching a truck as it backed a car into the only open door. He noticed who happened to walk in the front door, a smile coming to his face as he jogged a little to get out of the way of the truck. He turned, looking over his shoulder as the very, very nice vehicle was lowered and the man got out to release it. He wiped his nose quickly, more out of habit then anything, with the back of his hand as he gave Jayr a smile. "Looks like someone got a little banged up..." It wouldn't take too long, from the looks of things. Still, he guessed it was funny that she happened to have chosen this particular garage. Fates smiled at him it seemed. He looked back to her, and should she even begin to say his real name, he would point to his name tag rather meaningfully. Then he would walk over to the counter, putting the clipboard and check down, the man behind the counter picking it up and tipping his hat. " Have a good one, Damien." David would look back at Jayr and nod to the car. "Gonna need a day, maybe two. Bodywork is easy, just meticulous. Might cost around 550, but its worth it." He looked over her shoulder for someone else. "You got a ride home?" He was obviously implying that he would give her one, if she didn't. He just got off work, after all. ((I know i wanted to do some Mechanics work but, hey, my mood changed haha ))

Slight of Hand Her back would be to him for this one instance, a slight hunch to her figure as she slopped in disappointment of the answer she'd been given from the tow man. Granted he was justified in making her feel stupid if even for this one instance but he could've just pointed another way. Regardless now she was just thinking on it too much. A small pout on her face before turning around ready to address which ever mechanic entered her fray first.
"Looks like someone got a little banged up..."
Jayr would sigh and give something of a relieved face noting that it was David after all. A wide smile somewhat of a speculative glance as he approached tapping the name tag at his chest leading her eyes to quickly run over it a tad before what'd look to be his boss proclaim a resolution.
"Have a good one, Damien."
"So tough guy, work at a mechanic's, thats not what I expected."
Jayr grinned finally over the shock of establishing a ground basis not to mention leaving her baby with someone she could trust after all.
"Gonna need a day, maybe two. Bodywork is easy, just meticulous. Might cost around 550, but its worth it. You got a ride home?"
Jayr would silently fume to herself calculating the cost in her head with her already tight budget. It was a slight bit worrisome when living alone came into perspective. Well this definitely was coming out of Dylan's purse. Jayr would lean on her hip letting a hand comb through her hair quickly with a tad bit of concern.
"Are you offering?"
She'd reply with whatever good spirit she could muster which for her was still a lot given the circumstances.

David would only smile at her talk of him being a tough guy working with machines. He never really thought of himself as a..tough guy. But then again, around the places they stayed, it didn't matter a damn bit what you thought of yourself. It was the popular view of you that mattered. It was something he had discovered with Jayr and Katsuri- who you were mattered on first moments notice, first words spoken. Not on your heart, your soul. What you did on a daily basis. He was judged by both of them, straight to his face, without any real physical facts. Just rumor and one act of destruction. He wasn't bitter about it. Nor would he let on the thoughts that coursed through him, not unless provoked. He shrugged before walking past her.
"No, just asking."
He would turn around and back out the door, pushing his way outside. If she looed back, he would grin and gesture with a flick of his head to follow him. Joking. He was still in his black jumpsuit, heading to a rather large red pickup. Usually. he drove extremely nice vehicles, and while this was probably cliche for a male driver, he enjoyed it because it was classy without flashing money. Plus, it was fun as hell to drive. He would hop into the drivers seat, unlocking the doors with a push of a button. After firing it up and, should Jayr have accompanied him, he would pull out and head south, toward his house.
"I'm gonna head home and change, if your alright with that. Then i'll take you wherever you need." Should she accept, he would continue.
"So, how have things been since we last spoke?"

Now who's stereotyping? "No, just asking."
Jayr would flash a wry grin picking up quickly that he must have been joking. Contrary to what David Blaze believed about himself he was very translucent, at least thats how it seemed to her, otherwise she would have judged him differently. He was a jerk when they first met, strutting his way onto the campus of 774 acting as though he was a long time resident flashing his attempts at keeping order. If Jayr was so judgmental why did she not leave it at that. She was stubborn for the most part. Couldn't accept sticking with the status quo even with first encounters, she had to adapt, renew, and change with each new moment. All the while still being her perky self.
Jayr would follow at a relatively slow pace, considering she was wearing heels what more could someone have asked for. Anyway she kept up to his pace following somewhat in his foots steps though making them her own as she teetered off the trail avoiding small oil marks on the ground making just assured that she didn't ruin her heels in them. They were pricey after all.
She'd take it of her own volition to the door climbing her way in having little trouble with the height considering what most women would have trouble with. Heels certainly helped with that athletic build to get around the place without assistance of would-be chivalric men. Plopping herself in the passengers seat Jayr would take the time to cross her legs and knit her hands in her lap politely trained to not take up to much space as she nestled into the large seat.
"I'm gonna head home and change, if your alright with that. Then i'll take you wherever you need."
"Um that sounds fine with me."
Jayr would manage with less words than she could actually muster, she'd rarely been to another's house aside from Tsubame whom she chose of her own volition but then again this voyage worried her. Despite as nice of a guy as David could be she was still at odds with a certain run in at her old school.
"So, how have things been since we last spoke?"
Jayr would giggle lightly, her smile lighting up the enclosed space for but a moment before she fetched out the words.
"Since we last spoke, what was that like two days ago." Jayr would smile widely letting a hand wisp up to her forehead in a feigning momentum her eyes fluttering for a second as her neck jerked back.
"Oh the world is in chaos mister Blaze, school is in shambles and I cannot bear to look upon it neigh once longer."
Jayr would compose herself into a mock bow gesturing to the audience silently placed upon the dashboard applauding her in silence. She'd then turn to David with a humored grin and shrug innocently enough figuring there truly wasn't much to say about school. New faces each came with ups and downs. It was common place. Nothing she tended to worry too much on.

David chuckled a little.
"Wow, where was i during all this? Thanks for the heads up smartas- i mean, Jayr!" He gave a smile as he took a turn onto the highway, merging quickly and giving the truck a little gas.
"I only ask because a lot can happen in a few hours, let alone days." He would change the subject. "What happened to your car? As in, who hit who?" It was probable that she had rear-ended someone, so he made the assumption. Of course, she could have T-boned someone or hit a pole, but it wasnt likely. Least not for her. He wanted to ask her why she said what she did a few days earlier...but he figured it might ruin the mood.

Getting through that thick skull. "Wow, where was i during all this? Thanks for the heads up smartas- i mean, Jayr!"
Jayr would return the sturdy grin knowing all too well she was in the clear as far as the sarcasm police went. She had a way with those words that gave her a sense of validating power, much like her attack patterns she wielded words like a lance to do far more intimidating damage to start then fists could ever manage.
"I only ask because a lot can happen in a few hours, let alone days."
Jayr would merely shrug again not exactly willing to let much slip, what had happened in the last few days? A meeting with Orion. Training with Tsubame, run in with Vetis. It was certainly eventful for which David was right but she didn't see how any of it would eventually relate to him anyways.
"What happened to your car? As in, who hit who?"
Jayr would snap from her train of thought, a bit groggy eyed as she quickly returned to brighten up with a sort of half-hearted laugh. Following such a laugh Jayr would grin widely as to suppress the foul reaction that could be contemplated further.
"Courtesy of a friend of mine, Dylan, she was a bit tipsy and got a hold of my keys. Ran into a street lamp."
Jayr would smile slowly letting her head drop into her palms out of embarrassment for her friend despite the only words coming out of Dylan's mouth at the time were. "oops."

"Ah...thats rough."
He didn't have a serious amount to say regarding the matter- his job was to fic the car not point blame on the client. He would continue to drive, the road humming beneath his tires. They had a good ten minutes to drive, so David decided to burn some time.
"So, you've talked about cleaning up the school." He would glance over to her as he drove, watching the road while trying to give her some attention too. One thing many people didn't know was that David had no clue about Jayr's status as a Dragon. Perhaps she didn't know about his. Regardless, it was in his gangs best interest, not to mention his own curiosity that he ask the girl the following.
"Are you planning on putting the pressure on gangs? I mean, you have to have an idea of how to actually make people acknowledge yourself and your ideas." He shrugged. "I understand if your not wanting to say anything, just curiosity i suppose."

A bit of Positive reinforcement. "So, you've talked about cleaning up the school."
Quite the change in topic, though she could have suspected as much it wasn't as if her and David had spoken on much of a more personal level. Sadly things tended to be all professional or rather in this case professional with him. Though she did promise to make things better, he seemed to misinterpret what she meant by that. Cleaning up inferred that there were bad eggs. In Jayr's mind the very bad eggs that needed cleaning up were essential parts to the system. A clear misinterpretation between their outlooks.
"Are you planning on putting the pressure on gangs? I mean, you have to have an idea of how to actually make people acknowledge yourself and your ideas. I understand if your not wanting to say anything, just curiosity i suppose."
Jayr would smile innocently letting herself lean lopsided into the door frame as her hair would curtain much of the window. A somber look on her face very thoughtful of such measures. She didn't see any gangs of huge importance or weight around the school, much less any that had significant pull. There were of course the Dragons, but they were so few not to mention she viewed them to a much different extent than most of the Dragons would even figure them for. Perhaps that was what he was referring to? Otherwise there was no significant pushers.
"No, it makes sense to question me."
Jayr would smile with a slight shrug knowing the route of politics well enough to play it from her own side view.
"The few gangs we have really don't instigate too much as far as chaos, in fact I figure its individuals that are to blame for any descent of anarchy."
The quick blurb sounding much smarter than most of her comments, then again she liked to be that way for the most part. Subtly smart.
"I figure gangs are only essentially to the growth of the school as a whole, whereas individuals who aspire position and power cripple the school as a whole."
Jayr would return her head back to look at him with a wide eyed smile. She'd studied the school well enough from her encounters to know what was necessary, the difficult part was setting her plans in action. Much less living up to her promises.
"I think we need a replacement for the pillar system."
Bold statement. She had a promise to keep after all.

David listened, then would clear his throat, glancing out the window.
"Not to sound rude but...there are a few gangs present. They aren't putting pressure currently, but your thinking short term. There is Movement, and the Dragons. Both of them have a combined total of over about a hundred members- and that, in my opinion, is a threat." He sighed. "The pillar system is, and always has been, flawed. But in truth, any system set up would be without real physical power unless you reign in on the Gangs. If you try and set up a working system, they may see it as a threat and decide to topple it. You'll have to deal with that before a working system can really take effect."
He glanced over at her.
"In reality, a lot of people don't see things being that bad the way they are. How can you convince anyone otherwise? Last time anyone tried it was Gabriel, and Movements leader caused a total riot in the gym." He combed his fingers back through his hair. "I guess...i guess i just don't want someone who seems very nice, to make promises without a plan to deliver. Thats all."
He shrugged, and continued on, taking an exit towards his house while he awaited a response.

Narrow View "Not to sound rude but...there are a few gangs present. They aren't putting pressure currently, but your thinking short term. There is Movement, and the Dragons. Both of them have a combined total of over about a hundred members- and that, in my opinion, is a threat." He sighed. "The pillar system is, and always has been, flawed. She did feel a little hurt by such. Though he may have been looking at numbers she was looking at people themselves. She did promise to make changes to people but a dead line no. David was looking at things all too much like a cold war perspective.
Jayr would flinch away letting the smile fade away for what'd seem like the first time in all too long, the very action hurting her lips as she placed a forehead to the window letting her eyes trail along the roadsigns and streets that flushed by.
Thats all."
He was preaching again. She really hated when he did that, treating her like a child, like she didn't know anything at all. It was as if he was just using her position rather than stepping up himself, though his intentions were probably just it left a bad feeling in her stomach. A sad look on her face mixed with slight anger. It was an odd side effect she showed and not all too often because she always regretted such things.
"You're included in a lot of people David."
She'd make quick banter back noting that the very same rules applied to him, that the legend David Blaze was not exempt and that perhaps he should humble himself before giving advice. Negativity for the first instance seeping its way into Jayr's mindset making her sad.
"I'm not afraid of numbers, the right actions towards the right people can change things drastically."
Jayr would speak fluently and clearly referring to the leaders after all. She wasn't hindered by the Dragons, and The Movement was very much stagnant as she hadn't even heard of them.
"So why don't you stop being such a downer pointing out all the ways I'm wrong and do something to help."
A bit of bite to her statement. She didn't like it when people hurt her. Hurt her ideals, made her feel lesser than anything around her. Jayr knew all too well there were flaws in everyone. But negativity was not the way about it. You put a person down and they'd always be that way, you help them up and they may do the same in your favor. In her eyes David was the problem right now. A negative Nancey.

David paused as she said he was included in the list of people who had failed. He replied softly, just loud enough for her to hear.
"I think about that every day, Jayr. It's why i'm trying to-" She would cut him off, but could not stop him from thinking it. '-keep you from reliving my mistakes.'
That was all he would say. Not defending his position, or attacking her or pointing out what he had done. He knew he failed the school in many different ways. He had failed himself in just as many. Just because someone builds a name for themselves, brings a history of objection to oppression...it doesn't make them perfect. Not by any means. He wasn't trying to talk down to her, he was just presenting some of the questions and concerns he had for her and her plans. He wasn't saying it wouldn't work, but in order to make change, you had to outline what needed changing. He pulled up in front of his house as she told him he should help her instead of pointing out everything wrong with her plan.
"Jayr, nobody wants to follow a man who-" He looked back at the steering wheel, resting his head against it slowly before shutting off the car.
"Nobody wants to follow a man like me."
He pushed open the door, shutting it behind him as he made his way into the house, not looking back. He would take her home...but so far, it seemed they were having communication issues, and David knew it may turn out...a little awkward.

Humble beginnings, where a leader is born. Jayr would exit the car door following beside him in step to pursue at equal lengths as he did, a short pause to her own reply as David presented his. He thought she was referring to him to be a leader, as much as she could hope for that she knew well enough from observations that David had fallen from grace as a leader, much was to be expected when you didn't lean from time to time. Though Jayr had other things in mind when he continued on.
A hand would extend to pat at his forearm prominently to stop him in his tracks cautiously as she looked up at him.
"I'm not asking you to be a leader,"
She'd smile shyly as though the tough reality she beckoned of him was probably too much for this one sitting. Her hand retracting to loop a lock of hair over her ear, eyes averting to look away. A soft breath considering what to say next. She wanted him to follow her, but then again that sounded too arrogant? Too selfish a request for someone with so much pride.
Jayr would bite her lower lip before giving him a quick glance and turning away taking the lead to his house before stopping at the door uncertain where to pick up the conversation. There was so much she wanted to accomplish but she knew she couldn't do it alone. As a leader herself she feared she lacked the support to make things follow through.

David stared ahead, stopping when she touched him. Not lead, but follow? He'd done that before. Only one else had asked him, nearly begged him, to join a cause. Unfettered. With the help of Emily, he had agreed. He wasn't one to following something easily, not because he was above anyone else or thought himself as such, but because many people spoke like they had everything figured out, like their cause was just and perfect. No cause was perfect. Would he join her and find out later she was simply using his strength to meet an end? He continued walking.
"Come inside and tell me what you had in mind."
He would head up the stairs, calling down as he did so.
"How many people do you have following you?"
He would come down in a moment, with clothes in hand. He undid the jumpsuit, being in shorts and a tank underneath. Well, boxers, really. He tore off the tank, revealing a scarred but heavily muscled form. Lean, but tightly corded, chiseled with both tone and battlescars. He would put on pants first, simple blue jeans, dark but faded in a way. Next came a T-shirt, pulled over his torso before he grabbed his sweater and threw it on, zipping it up without ado.
