The sound of a cell phone’s vibration made an even worse sound on Roth’s metal night stand.
Bzzzt bzzzt bzzzt
Groaning with the sounds of morning Roth picked up his phone and answered it. He had a small hope it would be someone he knew. Aleece, Conner, Taku? Although he really hoped for Jayr. Or at least another random Chinese flok asking for Taio Lei Shen. After all he was the one who gave Roth this phone.
“Hey Rothie-boy. Long time no see.”
It was Esau. The mysterious man who had helped Roth escape Chula Vista and come here without any questions asked. Roth had often wondered why the police never came down to him at 259 seeing he was still using his real name. He could only assume Esau was paying somebody off as it was obvious the man was loaded up the ass.
“I’ve got a new job for you. This ones important so listen up. There is a small gang in Long Beach that’s starting to rise up. Normally this wouldn’t pose a threat to me, but they are targeting a Triad shipment of some ‘candy’. And that ‘candy’ is meant for me. Find them, and destroy them.”
Roth listened half awake. It wasn’t an unreasonable request, he had taken out student gangs before, but this seemed more dangerous. This probably wasn’t a student gang, if they were big enough to touch the Triads they must have had something big with them.
“Alright, no problem.”
“The shipment leaves in three hours on dock 79. Take Marcus with you. Now these aren’t your normal student gangsters. They’re on the Yakuza drug. The one they tested on you. Be careful.”
Esau hung up and left Roth to his own ways. Groggily Roth took a nice cold shower. It felt nice on this hot morning. Nothing lack back home in Boston. He missed the cold, the snow. After his shower Roth would would stroll down to the stage of ‘Jungle Cat’, Marcus’ strip bar. Marcus was in his office doing whatever was necasary for upkeeping a strip club.
“Yo Marcus! We got a job!”
“Fuck you.”
“Fuck you too man. I’m gunna head off to school and try to see if I could bring some friends along, this ain’t gunna be walk in the park.”
Roth looked into Marcus’ office as he spoke. Marcus was pissed and just flipped Roth off. Lazy mother fucker. Taking the back door Roth ended up in the Jungle Cat’s garage. Using the remote start he activated his orange Toyota Supra. It was his sweet, sweet baby. Roth left for school for what would feel lke a short day. All he needed was one friend who could hold their own to help out. He knew what that drug did to you, and there was no way just him and Marcus could take on a gang of psychotic mother fuckers.
Roth would head out on his way to the school. After that it was to the docks where he, his friend, and MArcus would all meet up.
(ooc: Someone I’ve already RP’d with, and preferably on friendly terms with. Small convo in school, then to the docks.)

For whatever reason Jayr was off to school, normally a morning person this girl had unfortunately spent the night working on a last minute project which procured a delayed sense of sleep. However filled of life she appeared she wanted nothing more than to simply roll over in her fluffy sheets and bury herself away from the world. a deep breath exiting her car and walking across the parking lot, it'd been awhile since she'd hung out with Jess or Dylan perhaps today called for a little time devoted to them.
Hankering for a smile, her tired facade broke a bit letting through those wide eyes coming to the front yard of the school. Where was everybody? She was almost sure she was late but then what was up. A quick glance at her watch before she noticed a smudge on it obscuring the real time.
"Poop.....an hour early."
She'd glower at nothing in particular before sitting down on the curb waiting, half between sleep and wake.

(ooc: period almost over. Short)
The bright orange Toyota Supra cruised down the streets of Long Beach. The sun was still rishing from the east coast. Back in Boston it always rose up from the ocean. Jus a constant reminder of home.
Roth was right outside passing the school grounds when he saw something. Roth looked at it intently and then saw who it was. It was Jayr. One of his few friends at 259. Roth passed her, braked hard, and then went in reverse and braked again rolling down his window to see her.
"Hey Jayr! What are you doing here so early?"

Flashy Goods The quick screech of tires throttling to a stop and then in reverse just before her would jerk Jayr's eyes up from the ground and onto a very familiar face. Her somber tired expression changing quickly to the livid smile.
"Hey Jayr! What are you doing here so early?"
"Oh you know, I just loooove school."
She'd say in a blatantly sarcastic tone quickly reverting to roll her eyes before picking herself up off the street corner, her hands rising to pat her backside from the collective dust formulating there.
"What'cha up to?"
Her torso now keenly leaning over the inside of the car's passenger window looking in with curiosity. She didn't know much about cars, but she loved her baby. Her Camero nestling in the back of the empty parking lot looking to be jealous already Jayr was paying attention to this new one.

School. Roth shuddered at the word. He never really learned much in the school. HE was like your average fighting slacker. Wandering the halls, stalking the roof, causing shenanigans. The only class he actually found enjoyment was in English, and that was only cause he like to argue.
Now Jayr had just asked him what he was up to. Roth's immediate action would be to lie. But then he remembered the lunch room and the SLF. He had lied to her before, he didn't want to do it again. Besides, he kinda liked her.
"Well I was going to get some breakfast and then beat the hell out of a bunch of gangsters. You interested? Well, at least with the breakfast part?"
Roth didn't know if Jayr had any fighting prowess. HE had only seen her as a resourceful leader and good person. Of course she was a pillar or whatever, but Roth knew there were many ways to gain a pillarship. Blackmail, extortion, violence, bribing, etc. To him it didn't matter what she did or what her past was. She didn't ask questions, so he would return the favor.

Interesting Agenda "Well I was going to get some breakfast and then beat the hell out of a bunch of gangsters. You interested? Well, at least with the breakfast part?"
Jayr would grin slightly in return, she wasn't too fond of the latter but knew she could take on most fighters as far as her abilities went, she simply rather enjoyed keeping her full potential mostly a secret. At some point she'd need to go all out, and when she did she wanted the force to go unrivaled.
"Breakfast sounds great."
Her head inclining to the side with a cocked grin as she'd peel open the door assuming it was unlocked, taking upon the passenger's seat and strapping herself in before tilting a slight gaze to Roth with a smile.
"Besides if you're going out to beat up gangsters you'll need someone to make sure you stay out of too much trouble."
Jayr would laugh, that someone of course being her.

Roth gave a small laugh. Trouble? Him? Okay, well there was that time with a mysterious Eastern European named Valekin. And the other bitch who threw him off a building. Plus getting kidnapped. Oh, and the whole J.T. situation. And he blew up a massive Yakuza shipment trying to thwart the Triads. Okay fine, he got into trouble...A LOT!
"You got a preference, or will the run of the mill Starbucks be aight?"
Roth looked at the clock after she got in. The shipment left in about 3 hours. No, now it was about 2 and a half hours. If breakfast took a half hour, and then getting to the dock took 20 minutes....fuck it. Roth was dumb and was horrible at math. He'd get there when he'd get there, it didn't matter.
Looking to Jayr for a response Roth would put his Supra back into drive and rev off into the city away from 259. So he would skip one more day. Whats the worst that could happen besides not graduation and possibly being killed by gangsters.

Magic Word "You got a preference, or will the run of the mill Starbucks be aight?"
The classic wide eyed grin only lit thus further by the pronunciation of the magic word. Coffee, particularly Starbucks was her ultimate weakness. The craving of it tickling in the corner of her mind jumping at the certain opportunity to do so unconsciously licking her lips in the aspiration.
She'd giggle after catching herself, eyes ducking down and away as her hand would come up catching her bangs dropping in front of her face and pressing them aside before smiling upward.
"That'd be a yes."
The glittery smile showing through.

After that initial conversation the car got quite except for the hum of it's engine. Roth was never too good at speaking with chicks alone, and in his car. He had one on his boat once half naked. And no, nothing happened. In fact although he never admitted it to anyone, Roth was a virgin. Roth stopped at a red light in an empty street. He looked around quickly to assess the area around him. It seemed all clear and all that was between them was a stretch of about a mile of empty road. Roth would now try to do the manly thing and impress Jayr with a thing he learned from Marcus. "Hey. Wanna see something cool?" No matter what Jayr said Roth would look at her dead in the face with a friendly, but slightly arrogant smile. Roth looked for the opposing light on Jayr's side and saw it turn red, which in turn meant his was green. Roth revved the engine and shot forward. Roth kept staring at Jayr with that smile. The Supra would approach about 80 mph down the barren outer city road. Roth would flash his teeth to Jayr and break down. Not hard enough to cause a whip lash, but enough so that they were now parked right out side the Starbucks. "We're here."Whether this scarred Jayr, or impressed her Roth had at least shown that he was a pretty good driver. After all he did learn in Boston. Roth had been all over the country and Massachusetts had to be the most aggressively driving state in America. (ooc: Example of Driving: .28-.40

Not a fan of the fast lane. While in all honesty Jayr wasn't exactly a turtle driver she did grow extremely cautious when she wasn't the one behind the wheel. A mad woman herself, but a granny in the passenger seat. On her side she was like the driving instructor dropping a lead foot into her side break which didn't exist. A shocked look on her face not making eye contact with him as she watched the road quickly calculating her chances of survival if she jerked open the door and dived. Yeah she wasn't liking her odds either way. Her breath choked up in her throat unable to plead to stop as she turned nervously to grin in pleading sense.
"Not cool."
She'd say quickly and quietly in a tone of which you knew she was even bsing herself. Yea it was cool, but scary as hell.
"We're here."
"LAND!"
Jayr would pop out of the car making a great exaggeration as to her plight in the passenger's seat. Her head turning back to look at him with a devilishly challenging glance before re-correcting herself. A hand grazing through her hair before complete calm and a merry skip to the front door popping out just as quick with coffee and two glazed donuts. Classics.

A glowing boy sat in a coffee shop, eating a doughnut, and then he blinked. A girl came in, bought a coffee and two glazed doughnuts, and skipped out. Orion blinked again. And then an evil smile came up.
"Oh yes."
The girl who had just entered was Jayr Bryne, leader of SLF and a friend of Orion's. And she was looking the other way and hadn't even noticed him. This was going to be fun.
Orion got up, finished the last of his doughnut, then assumed a runner's stance. He counted to ten, then he sprinted top speed outside. As he passed by Jayr and her friend, he bumped into her, taking not only her cell phone, but her wallet as well. As he ran past, he looked over his shoulder and flashed a cocky grin as he called to her.
"HIIII JAYR! YOU DON'T NEED THESE, DO YOU?"

Parked on the side of the road Roth waited and watched as Jayr walked into Starbucks for the ominous. As soon as she was gone Roth breathed out heavy and started laughing. His reaction to his little stunt was hilarious. Roth was proud of himself even if it came off as a tad reckless.
HE watched as Jayr came back out with the donuts and coffee. Mmm donuts. Roth imitated the Homer Simpson in his head. Glazed donuts at that. Roth's second favorite to the obvious Boston Cream Pie. Then something happened. A walking glow stick run out of Starbucks apparently stole her shit and ran off screaming.
"The fuck?"
Roth got out of the Supra and starred at Jayr in bewilderment. He had no idea what just happened, or what to do about it.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going. A fragile bump, enough so that he balance would deter quickly scuffling forward before falling on the hood of the car watching as that whom had tripped her turned with a happy grin all too excited for what he'd done.
"HIIII JAYR! YOU DON'T NEED THESE, DO YOU?"
'No...he was very wrong.'
Eyes narrowed sharply as Jayr grinned willing more than anything to show what she was made of as the majority of her newfound clique hadn't seen what her capabilities were. Bam. Like a bolt of lightning Jayr's hand would lurch out grabbing Orion around the waist hooking into his lower rib and jerking forcefully to pull him asunder and to the ground. Hopefully she shock factor was enough for him to simply surrender as Jayr would undoubtedly be fast on her feet to surprise him again.

"... wasn't I going in that direction before?"
After being jerked to the ground by the super-powerful person that was the SLF president, Orion paused for a few seconds. He looked up at her.
"Guess I have no choice..."
Orion got up, dusting himself off, then suddenly tossed the wallet at Jayr's face. The phone would be tossed at her buddy. After tossing the wallet, Orion would do more, though.
"DISTRACTION!"
With that, he knocked the coffee upwards, most likely hitting her with said hot liquid, performed an amazingly fast right race, and sprinted away, taking a bit out of a donut. If Jayr bothered to notice after the random distraction, she would realize she was down two donuts.

Dead Man "DISTRACTION!"
A dead man, thats what Orion was now, seeing as her coffee now pooled at the ground soaking up in the morning heat. Jayr's hands pensively flexing in angry little balls at her side ready to strangle him now. Nobody messed with HER coffee and lived to speak of it. She could care less about the donuts, they were expendable but now having picked her wallet up off the ground she turned to Roth with devilish glinting eyes.
"Run him over!"
Partly joking and partly serious Jayr would jump in through the drivers side window and push Roth over. Her foot dropping into the ignition as a maniacal snarl came over her face pacing the car into overdrive in pursuit. Vengeance would be hers.
