Vespyr straightened up, running a slender hand down the folds of her jacket to smooth it out as she winced in the sunlight. A mere nod was the only reply she gave to the man's offer, and if he began to walk she would hesitate for several moments before following him from a small distance, her troubled eyes glancing from one side of the street to the tall man and back to the sidewalk and back to the man...
So the usual wall she defended herself from people with was still a bit exhausted and diminished from the recent past, but in her mind she assured herself that it was alright. Whatever was about to take place couldn't damage her more than she already was, but if worse came to worst she could always remove herself completely... but now he had her adress. Fuck. That was stupid!
With a slight grumble, Vespyr put it out of her mind. A minor offense at most... Besides, something in the man's words had given the impression of sincerity. Whatever his goal was, it seemed legitimate enough to Vespyr, and so she disregarded any further wariness... but kept it close at hand in the back of her mind. One could never be too cautious.
"What exactly is your plan when it comes to these... monsters? I'm quite strung out now on only the slightest bit of information, and that's rather discomforting." she inquired from behind the man as she tried to stay in his shadow to avoid the sun.

"Mm.. thats just it.. we have more then one set of monsters to deal with.. the ones in our presence now.. are thankfully not subtle about their ways, I believe the Student Dean was wailing on about something the other day because of it. "
He sighed, rubbing his throat slightly and grabbing his bottle out draining the contents again, it had been a long time since he had spoke so much, but it was for the best, it was the only way he was going to get his vocal chords to relax and get back into the groove of things.
"For now all you need to know.. is we will need strength, information is not so much a big deal with what we deal with for now.. it is raw power." Would they need information? Oh lord yes.. there would come a time when what else he had planned had come to fruition, that would require information.. far more then even a world class snitch would be able to provide. "This is why I sought those with strength and potential before.. and it is why I seek them still."
He of course had started walking, first goal? Starbucks.. he needed some caffeine, and chances were it would provide some more time to converse about what was going to happen..

Vespyr felt a hot sting at her fingertips, and realized that the forgotten cigarette she was holding had burned away into a tiny gnarled stub. She dropped it and lit another as she entered the coffeeshop, disregarding the words NO SMOKING that glared at her from the window. Fuck that. If someone wanted to complain about it, they'd get burned. Simple.
Luckily for the girl with no money or desire to pay for coffee, there was a steaming cup of it abandoned at a nearby table. The little table was accompanied by some comfortable-looking chairs, an ideal place to sit and chat, no? She sat down in one of the chairs, feeling somewhat more relaxed than before due to the effects of the cig that she held nazi-style between her thumb and middle finger.
So, there was fighting to be done... with strength and power that Vespyr barely had. By the look and sound of it, the tall man had withered as well since she had last seen him. This could possibly mean training, no? This was, again, something she had little of but was willing to receive.
She tapped the cig ash onto the table and sipped her purloined coffee, and having asked all the questions and spoken all that was on her mind for the moment, she would wait for the giant to get his coffee and start whatever conversation he was planning on having.

Stolen coffee was unnecessary, but it like the cigarette would be completely ignored just due to the company she currently had. You tended to be too busy being scared and finding a seat as far as possible away from an eight foot man scarred up and ragged looking. Walking to the counter he'd have ordered a french blend with plenty of chocolate and whipped cream granted, they didnt like that, preferring words like 'mocha' and other bullshit, viente. Pft. He didn't care, and they got that.
Paid for his drink and drug a bench over to where she was sitting so he could plop his large self down comfortably. A sip, a nice deep one, and the sort of refreshed sigh that just let you know he had not had one of these or anything sweet like it in quite a long while actually, and whats more there was a large glob of the whipped cream on the tip of his nose and lips. "Anyhow.." Pausing, thinking for a moment before shrugging. "Lets be honest, even in my weakened state.. I could squash you and I am sure you know this. That is not important though.. whats important is that vicious little attitude you've got." He grinned. " People around here may strut around like they could do ANYthing... they're full of shit. Their degeneration? The degeneration of our society? Is their lack of ability to hold onto a goal, no matter how much the rest of society may look down on it or cry foul and immoral. Too easily swayed by the masses."
Another long chug of that drink and that long tongue would have slipped free, a line of pink having been cut underneath the thing that allowed it to quite literally become a snake in the manner it moved, up and around cleaning up all of the cream that had been left behind.

"Personally i'm not a fan of goals, i see them as pointless like everything else, but that's just me. I agree with you though, the problem nowadays is that no one's got an attention span of longer than five minutes. With nothing positive to contribute, they're all just wasting time."
Of course this statement was slightly hypocritical; Vespyr herself had nothing positive to contribute. BUT, she justified this with the fact that any sort of contributions would ultimately amount to nothing in the end, in the grand "scheme of things" (that was actually a fallacy in her opinion, for there was scuch thing at all), and that she would make negative contributions instead.
Like the killings.
Murder was far from a positive thing to most of the world, but to her, it was a good thing. For the world to be rid of worthless people was a dream, and if it must so be called, her only goal in life. (Which she was well aware would ultimately fail.)
She watched the man's tongue for a moment, slightly astounded because for a second she thought she saw a pink snake emerging from his mouth, and then suffocated her cigarette on the sofa's armrest.
"I guess it doesn't matter anyhow. As long as we live to see, there will always be children in lingerie, people truly without purpose..."

"Positive is subjective. " He shrugged. " As for goals, its not so much that you have them.. its that you've got the sort of will to defend them. That is what's important when you are trying to seperate the weak from the strong.. would you die for someone?" He asked, already figuring he had the answer in his head, but more then willingly to give her the opportunity to prove him wrong. Most people? They would say something along the lines of they would die for loved ones.. but see, thats that wishy washy logic, as when it came down to it, many of them would hesitate when doing it if they did it at all. Hesitation is what got them killed.. not their undying loyalty. If you had someone whom would not die for someone, and admitted that.. there was no hesitation.
The cream gone, he could no freely drink of that massive cup of chocolate laced coffee without having to let loose that thing from his mouth. Those eyes were unwavering, and given it was not that bright in here he would have finally pulled his goggles up, wincing for a moment before clenching them shut a little bit and letting up, he had to get used to it if he planned on living without those damn things on. When all was said and done, she'd have been met with a set of eyes devoid of color, completely whitened over, and yet.. not blind. Somehow.

Vespyr sank lower into the chair, raising the coffee to her face with both hands. She seemed to hide behind it as she inwardly searched for an answer to his question, becoming swept away in the dark current of her thoughts again. Once upon a time, the answer would have been yes - but now? Things had changed drastically and there was more doubt than certainty in that area, so the answer had to be no.
"I used to think so." she said quietly, feeling quite empty again. No matter how smoke or coffee she filled herself with, the feeling never ceased to eat away at her mind.
"But not anymore. I don't devote my life to people who don't do the same in return. I haven't even had the chance to get that close to anyone. I've been alone. Took me awhile to realize it, but i am and i always have been. And so i'll die for my own reasons, which don't include laying my life down for anyone. What does that have to do with anything, though?" She had reverted her gaze back to her large company, who had removed his eyewear and was looking at her with oddly pale eyes. Had they been like that before, the first time she saw him? She couldn't remember... but it didn't matter.

When they had first met those eyes had been a faint red, going but not yet gone. Still, her answer just got a bit of a smile from him, she contemplated it, gave a serious answer. It was nice, not in the sense of cuddly puppies and ice cream nice, but nice that it was what had happened. "Not too many people will realize what that question has to do with their very existence. Even though you say you live for yourself, you have to ask further.. what are those things you will die for.. why will you die for them? What would you die for, willingly?"
He just nodded his head at her and took a large gulp from his cup killing it off before setting the thing off to the side on the opposite end of the bench and laying back, his arms resting along the top of it as he did so. "When is it enough to just know, within, that you are capable of dying in the arms of a loved one, or at the hands of an enemy you have sought to destroy. Is it when you have given it your all? When you are sure that you will fail?" He gave just a moment to think about that one before he continued. "You see. The point of these questions is not to make you realize some philosophical high, it is to make you realize your values and your strengths. To give in to a warriors death... its weak. To die in battle for your values does not mean you are a martyr, no, it means you are worthless. Dying for your cause does nothing to further your cause. To die for a loved one is pointless as well, how will you save that loved one the next time? It all boils down to human beings being insignificant, not in the eyes of others, but in the eyes of themselves."
He chuckled slightly at his thought and would have sighed softly, smiling at her. "Love, is a beautiful thing, and I am sad to hear that you did not get a chance to experience it to its ends, but either way.. as long as you can recognize that dying and giving your all are not synonymous with one another.. then there is plenty of hope for love in the future."

If the man had been noting her demeanor at all, he would see her mood shift suddenly; the pale face was solemnly unanimated, and the dark eyes suddenly seemed ice cold and subdued with pain. She clenched her teeth gravely, contending with the nostalgia before it could choke the life from her again.
"Love" was a topic beyond the range that she would speak of or even think about, for it was remarkably complicated, overrated, and it held an agonizing grip on too many anguished memories... she had suffered too much in the name of love.
"It's irrelevant." she asserted coldly and concisely, hoping to change the subject. After a moment of silence, she straightened her posture, and in a voice less frigid yet still lacking emotion, continued. "But i do agree with you regarding the rest..." and, needing something else to say, "Did we come here to discuss philosophy, or figure out how to fix the much bigger problem at hand? I'm a bit curious as to where i fit in to this scheme. Honestly i'm quite surprised i'm even sitting here with you at all, let alone giving you my adress, due to our brief and less-than-friendly history. I need something to convince myself that what i'm doing isn't outright crazy. You can see where i'm coming from, right?"

"You're here because you recognize an issue that needs to be handled.. regardless of rather consciously you know it, subconsciously you can feel it. " He just smiled at that and shook his head, those shoulders slowly rolling forwards up and then falling back down so his arms could continue resting where they were. "Though, I did not drag you here to converse about philosophical pleasantries, I do quite enjoy it.. no. The reason I drug you here is so we can discuss how far it is you are now.. and far I am going to push you. All of what I have been talking about it laying ground work. Life and death you see are very important things in combat."
He shifted up, arms coming free of the bench before he rose to his feet and looked down at her. Grin on his lips as he'd raise a slow leg up, giving her ample time to realize what he was going to do before the large man dropped the axe kick down into the couch she had been in, far far faster then he should have ever been able to. "But its also about deception and misconception, and I have to ensure you are in your peak of these things, particularly if your opponent is stronger then you." When done with that, he'd have merely smiled once more, stuffed hands in his pockets and headed for the door. " So lets go take a look at where we'll be working on the physical side of things at least yea?"

Of course she saw what he was about to do, so she swung her legs over the armrest of the couch and slid off, the precious coffee still in hand, as his foot came crashing down onto the cushion. That poor cushion... Vespyr shot the man a scolding glance as she stood beside the beaten couch, and then followed him toward the exit. The green apron-clad clerk gawked in stunned, angry silence as the door swung shut behind them.
Once outside, Vespyr took a moment to let her eyes recuperate from the sudden sunlight and took a sip of coffee. What a day it had been so far... and still more to come! She sighed profoundly and trailed behind the eight-foot mass of a man, wondering where they were off to now. Suspicion accompanied her curiosity without a doubt, but she chose to say nothing. There was no need for further explanation of her uncertainty - but the best one can do to cure uncertainty is to be patient and see how things play out.

( Sorry for taking so long. Got distracted with new classes and what not. )
The look he got was more then enough to secure his ideals in the proper place, and he would have went about it in the same way outside, just continuing on without so much as a glance back. If she followed then that would be fine and dandy, if not, it was fine as well, just meant that he would have to look else where for a prodigy in the making. Still. Kind of funny how the first time he had been back to this place since he had gotten clean he had considered taking it far more then one could realize. Such was the addictions in life though, at least how it usually went anyhow.
The place they were headed for was not far, a few blocks away, and when they got there she would have seen it was not fancy. He had gone back to his roots, how he trained when he was coming up. Baby brother had it easier, but he didn't. The door to a dilapidated building was the entry, but what was on the other side was nothing more then a massive space, devoid of walls and only pillars for structure. The outside was boarded up, but the door locked, for a good reason. Inside there was really only one thing of value, but it was plenty, a massive system of speakers with a central console controlling the entire thing. He had to have music before and did now, although, before it was on some ratty ass little boom box.
Littered around the room she would have seen a couple different bags, a long bag, a few heavy bags, one with sand, one with traditional lining, and finally one with rocks that had a reinforced lining to ensure it didn't rip, the one he used.. and the one he planned on having her using when she had gotten to that point. Weights, most of them not made of the typical discs of metal but rather cinder blocks locked into place much the same way a typical weight would have been but with longer bars at the end. Dumbbells in a rack with a couple of ropes hanging on the end of it for speed work. The last thing being a large mat, easily fifteen feet wide and long, off in its own area up against a wall that was padded as well. Sparring.

As the door swung to a close behind her, Vespyr surveyed the room with darkly curious eyes, taking note of the equipment... most of which she had never seen or used before, but it appeared that would soon change. Her mind performing its routine evaluations, she considered that the makeshift dumbbells would make nice weapons. The sharp black fingernails of both hands clicked together in contemplation as she imagined this.
The place reminded her of her own home in its quaint shabbiness, in its "ghetto" feel as some would call it, but she did not feel at home... yet? To most, places like these were all merely dirty, abandoned buildings serving no purpose. But to those who utilized them properly, they were a home, a training ground, a sanctuary, a complete new world hidden under the shoe of society.
Vespyr had always been drawn to the solitude and privacy of the underground, so the fact that this was no professional facility was far from a bother to her. It was preferred.
She had been lingering by the door, twining her slender fingers together menacingly as she thought. Now she seemed to resurface to the present, her eyes darting over to the man whose name she still did not know, but cared not to ask. If he had not noticed already, she spoke very little and had little regard for most things, names included.
"Alright then.." was all she could think of to say, not wanting to ask the usual dull "Now what?". Besides, she could feel this meeting coming to a close, unless the man had further things to show her. If so then she would cooperate, but she had nothing further to ask or say to him.

It was supposed to feel 'ghetto' it was not meant to be some fancy building, no, that sort of thing may have worked for pretty boys and idiots.. but it never got them down to the nitty gritty. The worst part was, the girl had not even seen the finished product. Several more things were going to be added in as he found them, something to the tune of tires, sledgehammers, metal garbage cans filled with rocks and numerous other.. 'ghetto' pieces of work out equipment.
Still. He would have hefted up one of the dumbbells, a fifty-pounder to be precise. Twirling the thing about as if it weighed a pound and then grinned at her before he literally shifted his leg up and then down swiftly, much like a pitcher, hurling the thing at her, wanting to see just how fast she would be able to get out of the way. Aiming it towards her mid section.. she had taken a beating from him before, at worse he'd crack some ribs.
After all was said and done though, it had merely been done so that he had ample time to appear in front of her, just after she had either avoided the thing or took the blow, and paused. A slight pat to her cheek and he'd have winked. "By the way, if you ever need to crash, there are a few cots in the back, feel free to take one. I sleep upstairs. " He said that and shrugged. "You're free to leave or stay, either way I am gonna get warmed up."

The man's stance was warning enough; her heartbeat swelled and flared with instinctive reaction, and as the heavy object left his hand Vespyr dropped her slender body into the dust, flattening herself nimbly against the ground as the weight thundered overhead and beyond. She straightened up swiftly as the thing crashed against the wall in harsh cacaphony that echoed through the concrete chamber like a bombardment.
Her eyes smouldered furiously as the man's large paw met the cold skin of her cheek, and without thought she nipped her jaws together at his huge fingers, with a crisp and menacing ck! as the sharp teeth snapped shut, whether slick with the blood of their target or otherwise. Vespyr was far from a tame kitty and was not to be petted and treated as such. This may have been the old Vespyr that the man had been looking for - the one with the ferocity akin to that of an agitated panther - and if so, then his grin would probably widen.
The girl didn't care. Her bitter grudge toward him had lay dormant until now but had been rudely awakened as if it had tumbled out of bed, cursing and spitting, etc... but Vespyr knew that what was to develop here was of great importance. So, she would cope with the antipathy for as long as it simmered and burned, but without a doubt she would play this most valuable card against the man when it came down to the physical side of the game, the training.
As for now, she felt it was time to return home, though her claws twitched with the itch to rend flesh and her violet eyes still boiled something acidic.
"Going home now." she growled in a brief manner, turning her lithe body toward the door with her eyes still fixed on the man. "You know where that is, when the time comes."
Sunlight would sweep across the dusty floor as the door swung open, Vespyr appearing as nothing more than an ethereal silhouette in the radiantly lit doorway for a mere moment before the shade panned back across the ground with a slam that shook the walls.
