"Dozo yoroshiku onegaishimasu!" the boy grinned broadly, slipping into Japanese as easily as he spoke English. Then he turned back to his mother, watching what she was doing with that unsettling amount of attentiveness that children give to the things that catch their attention and eye. Tentatively, he reached out a hand to put it lightly on the bike, before withdrawing it immediately as Delilah said without looking up "Don't touch that."
"I have to say, Delilah, that this is a surprise. Is there anything you can't do?"
She flipped a grease coated hand at him modestly, even as she smiled, clearly pleased. "Well, I can't dance to save my life," she replied with a light laugh, selecting one of the wrenches from Oliver's little hands and cranking the bolt back into place. "What brings you here so early?"

This kid was... Too perfect. Almost. Although Lucien found him much more acceptable than other children, he wouldn't be babysitting anytime soon.
"Well, actually... I wanted to apologize, for falling asleep.. On you. Last night." He finally got all the words out, through broken and segmented. It bugged the hell out of him.

She looked up now, gazing at Lucien with quizzical amusement. Oliver set down the wrenches his mother didn't yet need and sat down on the floor, proceeding to make-believe that they were giant metal constructs who ruled the landscape of cracked cement around them.
Delilah pushed her bangs out of her eyes, leaving yet another smear of axle grease behind on her forehead. "Now why would you need to apologize for that?"

Lucien looked down at the boy playing with metal tools, and then back to Delilah.
"Well, mostly because we were having a serious conversation, and I cut that short, slightly because I wished to continue said conversation, and a little bit of the fact that I fell asleep on you." He said in a tone that represented his exasperation with himself.
Exasperated was a good word for Lucien.

Delilah tilted her head to the side at a slight angle, the corner of her mouth lifting into a lopsided smile. She laughed quietly under her breath.
"You apology is completely unnecessary, but accepted anyway," she told him firmly, turning back to the bike, scowling at the state of the pistons. Did someone pour vodka in the gas tank again? Heads would ROLL.
"No harm, no foul,"

Lucien, exasperated, decided that there was no sense trying to convince his captain that it was a big deal. Instead, he put on a sideways smile, and nodded.
"Alright, then..." He paused, not knowing what to say next. He shifted awkwardly, feeling like a stranger in his skin.
"I kinda enjoyed the talk, though. It was nice to sit down and talk like that for once." He suggested, trying to salvage the conversation, and perhaps get back to the topics that were discussed the previous night.

"It was," she agreed, metal clanking away against metal as she continued to work. "Something still feels unresolved, though. With you, that is. What's bothering you, Luc?"

Lucien would walk over to Delilah, suddenly smiling. He did have something unresolved, and it was quite exciting to share. As he approached her side, looking down into the engine, he noticed her hands deftly working away. He had no idea what he was looking at. Internal combustion was quite complicated.
"I didn't get a chance to show you... My Qi."

Her eyes widened in surprise at the admission, turning to look at him fully. She tilted her head to the side, as if trying to glean what it might be. A slow smile spread across her lips as she looked him over. Oliver would continue to play at her feet.
"Well, well. Congratulations. Do we have Leon to thank for this?" she thought yes. "Be sure you give him the full extent of your gratitude. Let's see it, then."

Lucien smiled along with her, nodding as she mentioned Uncle Leon. He was, indeed, to thank for this. As the child, Oliver Fenrich Stuart Pott, played at Delilah's feet, Lucien was kind of anxious that he would misstep and crush his hand or something. It was irrational, like pretty much everything Lucien worried about.
So, he stepped back a pace and looked to Delilah as he said, "Well, you can't really 'see' it. But, I'll show you."
And he turned invisible.

She blinked and, suddenly...the man wasn't there. Her brow furrowed as her eyes glanced around the room...and then she burst into a wide grin, laughing genuinely.
"NICE! Invisibility, huh? Suits you perfectly, what with your Ninjutsu training. Marcus is going to loooove this. Don't tell him, just surprise him with it."
She grinned broadly, still chuckling. Oliver looked up from his game with eerie accuracy to the spot where Lucien was standing. Just staring at him.
EERILY.

Lucien smiled, but didn't move.
"Thanks, I'm glad you like it. It's not perfect, though. For example," He moved his arm in a flapping motion, as to create ripples in the air, giving away his position.
He also felt the boy's eyes on him. Even when he didn't move. What was this child? Maybe it had something to do with...
Oh God he's staring me right in the eyes.

Delilah nodded, watching the shimmers of his Qi. "But in combat, that could still be an advantage. A blur here or there is all the notice they'd get before you clock em.
"Does it have a limit for how long you can use it for?"
Oliver would simply tilt his head slightly to the side, still staring wide-eyed at the place Lucien had been, eyes boring into his with unsettling accuracy.

Lucien checked to make sure he was still invisible, feeling the child's stare precisely on his own. It was uncanny!
"Well, as far as I know, there's no time limit... But if I move really fast, it dissipates."
That's really about as far as he'd gotten into exploring this new muscle of his. And, that wasn't a bad thing. It just meant that there was more to explore.
He turned visible again, deciding not to tell Delilah about the fact that Oliver Fenrich Stuart Pott could see invisible people. He smiled at her.

She pursed her lips together with interest, still smiling. "Iiiinteresting...."
Grabbing a rag out of her tool belt, Delilah wiped her hands as clean as they would go and she strode over to where she thought Lucien was.
"I am glad you came, though. I wanted to follow up on the...discussion I had with Sider the other day."
she levelled a look at him, mildly curious and not at all angry.
"Why did you bring him to me?"
