His familiarity with Silk meant that his guard was down enough that if Bandit and Aiko hadn't stopped her, that switchblade would have probably found itself buried into Marcus neck. He would have never guessed she would have actually had the capacity to make good on what he always assumed was a toothless threat over the many years they had known each other.
Once the shock wore off Marcus found himself nearly enraged to violence and nearly lunged at Silk before managing to tie a rope around his fury and pull it back after a few good deep breaths. 'Cause honestly I just cant blame her.' Seeing the look of fear on her face was also a pretty big give away that she was acting on rage and not rational thought. He could easily forgive her for that considering cracking her shell open was what he was going for in the first place.
Sitting beside her on the bed, Marcus would reach over and gently cup her cheek in his hand and turn her face towards him. His resolve was breaking faster than Silks mental landscape was and he found that the righteous frenzy he was operating under before had been quickly bled out of him. Looking into her green eyes, he found his heart reaching out for her. "I told you." He said quietly with warmth. "I'm here to stay. I'm not giving up on you Silk." He found himself Absent mindedly stroking her cheek with his thumb as he spoke. "You've always been there for me during the hard times. 552, The Civil war, Kelsie. You gave me a home when mine was destroyed. I'd probably be living in some burnt out shed tucked away in some backwater part of Long Beach if it wasn't for you."
"So don't think for a second I'm going to just sit back and watch you bottle this all up inside. Fight all this pain by yourself. The reason I want you to come with me is to remind you the world is still turning outside......" Marcus then suddenly smiled a smile that looked quite suspiciously Smirk-like. "And introduce you to a new member of the family."

Silk was utterly in shock about what she had almost done. Aiko and Bandit would slowly release Silk's arms. Their little teeth left puncture marks in her wrists but she didn't seem to notice. Marcus sat beside her and she would slowly sit up. It was then that Marcus reached for her chin. She flinched as if almost expecting to be knocked in the face. She knows had he pulled a knife on her, she would have probably knocked him out. Still, despite the situation, he managed to feel sorry for her and Silk was at a loss for why.
It seemed to her that she had caused him so much trouble. She had forgotten what it was like to be herself and had become so consumed with fear and guilt that it had locked her away. That little burst of murderous rage had almost harmed her friend but he succeeded in doing what he wanted. He pulled her from the darkness and into the light. She wasn't 100% back to normal, but then again, he probably knew that too would take some time.
His gentle touch actually relaxed her despite what they had gone through. She was now dressed and although she wasn't exactly looking forward to leaving, when Marcus smirked, Silk found that she had missed that. She had missed the look that he had given her and a soft smile appeared on her lips.
"Our family?"
She asked a brow raising slightly. She had never heard him refer to them like that before. She supposed they were some sort of make shift family. Before he could answer though, she would wrap her arms around him. Despite how frail she had become, she hugged him with a strength that resembled the old her. How long had it been since she hugged him? Probably a really long time. Aiko and Bandit both looked pleased by this. It seemed she was on the mend.

"Yup." He replied, giving Silk an affectionate squish. Now this certainly was a comforting development! Squishy hugs beat screaming and switchblades any day! "I found him in a Dumpster!" He vaguely explained with an impish grin. Little did Silk know that Marcus was referring to the Wolfpack with her included when he meant family. Though she wasn't far from the mark, the two of them were as close as blood in Marcus' mind.
Slowly, reluctantly, Marcus broke the embrass and held Silk out before him, an almost mad twinkle in his eye. "Names Brenner. Real Nice guy too! So how bout we break our bikes out and go for a ride?"

"Found him in a dumpster?"
Silk blinked. It was almost reminiscent of the young girl she had found back in their years at 552. Silk had found a girl in a cardboard box. She took her in, cared for her and eventually the girl went on her own way. Still, Marcus spoke of this new being as if he would already be welcomed by Silk.
She was fairly hesitant. Meeting a new person was something she hadn't done in a long time. That aside, it wasn't something she was looking forward to. Forming a new attachment would be a large step for her and it meant she did have to go outside and it meant things were at risk. She felt a horrible lump appear in the pit of her stomach at the thought of it all.
Aiko and Bandit could see Silk already having second thoughts about this and they would hurry to her and nuzzle against her sides trying to reassure her. Marcus spoke about riding their bikes to go meet this new member. She bit her bottom lip and looked away still uncertain about leaving.
"I... I don't know Marcus."
She chewed on her lip a bit.
"I'm not sure if I am ready to go outside."
She was nervous, considering her rude awakening, it was bound to happen. People didn't just get ripped back into reality to suddenly jump around with enthusiasm. She was no exception, though she was thankful for Marcus' patience. With a sigh, she looked back at him.
"How about we just take your bike?"
She was a bit worried that if they took separate bikes, she'd get lost. After all, she hadn't been outside of her home in a very long time it seemed. Who knows what could have changed.

"That's why you got me around Silk." Marcus replied gently, watching her fidget, fuss and worry, wishing he could do more for her. He had to be patient now though. The woman was jump started out of her pity pit. Now it was up to her to WANT to heal her frazzled psyche. "To catch you when you stumble and fall and all those other cliche'd inspirational phrases you see on those posters and stuff."
"I don't mind. One step at a time right?" Stepping over to her, he put one hand on her shoulder and offered her the other, palm up and about her shoulder height. "The first step? The front door."

Despite how most would view Marcus' recent actions, he had actually done her a huge favor. Of course, had it been anyone else to have tried to pull her from her pit of despair, they'd most likely have been dead. Marcus lived to annoy her another day though. To poke and prod her into moving, like a child with a stick poking a slug. It was irritating to the slug and it would be irritating for her, but the only difference between her and the slug was, Silk would most likely beat Marcus to a pulp, or try to at least, if he crossed a line. A slug never had that luxury.
So now it came down to her first steps. She had been forcibly dressed, which she was sure was the reverse of what most girls go through, and now a hand was waiting for her to help her take her steps to the door. She thought about stepping outside, about seeing the large world that lay in ruin. Did it still lay in ruins? From what Marcus had said, it was coming together actually. She wondered who he'd force her to meet. Who she'd be forced into looking at and smiling at and shaking hands with. Surprisingly, that was her bigger fear now. Not really going outside, but meeting others.
The people she knew died or disappeared, which meant they probably died. He might have been right, during the whole bombing thing, people lost a lot more than she did, but... it didn't make her any less scared of losing the people she still had. There was hesitation before she settled her hand in his and stood up. She took a deep breath and with her other hand snatched a scrunchy from her bed along with her brush. She had to stall. She needed more time.
"I... I need to brush my hair."
She'd let go of his hand and would go in front of her mirror. Indeed her hair was a mess so it wasn't really a lie or anything. Marcus probably knew she was stalling, hopefully he'd be happy with her trying to tend to herself though. He had been after her for a while about it. It would be a while but soon her hair was brushed and pulled back out of her face. With a bit of a shaky breath, she'd look at him to see if he was still adamant about taking her out of the house.
He was. She could tell just by looking at him. Biting her bottom lip she'd take his hand again and motion for him to lead her on out. If she had to walk ahead of him, chances were she'd stay put. She was ever the stubborn woman, even when trying to piece herself back together.

He smiled at her then and with a chuckle replied. "I guess I can allow you that." Reaching up, he ran a hand through her soft silvery hair, noticing the amount of Knots and tangles within it. It definitely could use a good combing for sure. "I'll head out and get Lady warmed up. Just make sure you don't take too long or I'll come in, throw you over my shoulder and carry you out." He added with a wink before mussing her tangled locks up and making his way to the garage to pull Lady out.
He had a checklist to run.

She scrunched up her face as he told her he could allow that. Like she would give him much choice in the matter? Psh. She grabbed her brush off her messy dresser and as he messed up her already messy hair she scrunched her nose at him again. He was such a pain in her side. When he left her room she would begin to brush her hair. While doing so, she could see her entire mess of a room in the mirror. Aiko and Bandit watched her from her bed. She sighed looking around her room.
"Where did I go to guys?"
She asked them and they meowed and murred softly in response.
"Yeah... that is what I thought..."
She mumbled as she dragged her brush through her tangled hair. When she was satisfied with it, she pulled it up into a bun at the back of her head. Just to keep her now longer than before locks out of her face when they were on the bike. She looked at her contacts and debated on putting them in, but chose not to. She'd turn to leave the room but seeing as it was still a mess, she stopped to pick it up a bit. She piled clothes into her hamper, intent on cleaning them when she came home, and threw all the garbage she found into her little trash can in her room. It was taking her a while, she knew and Marcus would probably start to worry about how long she'd been in her room.
With a heavy sigh she would take a hesitant step into her hallway and begin making her way to the front door. Once there though she gulped and stepped back. She was second thinking her agreement to leave the house. Her fear swelling up again and preventing her from launching out there to join him. Aiko and Bandit watched her struggle with this. They felt bad for her. The young woman they grew up and loved used to launch into the world like a rocket and just as loud. Silk now stood there though, her hands trebled and she couldn't bring herself to do it. Aiko would sneak out through the special door Marcus had installed for her and Bandit.
Aiko would get Marcus while Bandit purred and rubbed against Silk's legs trying to coax her into going out the door herself.

Marcus had Lady out and his skullcap on by the time Aiko came out. With a sigh, he reached down to pet the adorable little red fluff ball, thinking that maybe he was expecting alittle too much that Silk would be able to walk out the door herself.
"Alright Kitfox, Lets go give your mistress a nice push in the tush."
Entering the house, the man would knock on a wall and call the young Chileans name.
"Silk? You ready to go yet?"

Silk stood in the living room eying the door that led outside like it was the portal to hell. In her mind it was. Bandit would continue to rub against her legs and nudge her forward, though she'd promptly step back and glare at the cat. She was so distracted by glaring daggers at her feline friend that when Marcus came in, flanked by Aiko, she didn't hear him till he knocked on the wall.
She jumped and looked over at him. Brown eyes still showing quite a bit of fear and worry. Bandit used this moment to launch himself at the back of Silk's right knee. His little kitty head smashed into the back of her leg, which would normally cause someone to go down to one knee. Silk however, frail she had gotten, still was not a fan of being knocked down in any form so instead she'd stumble forward, towards Marcus and grab a hold of him for support.
Bandit seemed to smirk triumphantly. Aiko even did a little dance. The cat had succeeded in pushing his owner closer to the door. Of course this meant he also got a very evil glare from her but it didn't seem like the pets cared. They happily danced around like they had done the unthinkable and Bandit strutted about like he was mr.bad. Silk would sigh, seeing her glares weren't effective. She'd turn her attention back to Marcus.
"Sorry... I... I was going and..."
Her voice trailed off. She WAS going towards the door but then another pit of fear filled up in her stomach. It seemed to have replaced the guts she used to have. She almost sounded defeated by this.

One minute he was walking into the living room, the next he had a Surprised Silk thrown into his arms.
He was kinda ok with this.
"Why hello there young lady." He said with a confused smile before catching sight of Bandit and Aiko and everything clicked. Those cheeky little beasties. "You know....I think this is the part where you blush and call me Sempai."
Shifting to her side, letting an arm drift down to the small of her back, He took Silk by the hand and aimed her towards the door. "Don't worry Silk, We'll take it slow. I'll be right beside you the entire way." He said Gently. Now was NOT the time to try a heavy handed approach!
Still....Did she REALLY have to be so god damn cute right now? Marcus had honestly never seen her like this before. It was endearing and kinda creepy at the same time.

Silk wondered what she had been thinking when she made friends with this idiot. Sure he was a reliable guy but... one could only take his annoyances for so long. As he mentioned her blushing and calling him sempai, her eye twitched and her hand shot out to smack him in the back of the head.
"Baaaakaaa!" (Idiot)
She even stuck out her tongue and pulled down one of her lower eyelids. Yes, she was this childish. Then Marcus took her hand which caught her off guard. Her features softened with his words though. He was trying to help her. As it was he had helped her a lot already.
"Fine, fine... But do you have to talk to me like I'm a child or some escaped mental patient. God."
She huffed at him. Bandit and Aiko would run past her and out the door. They would sit there waiting. Bandit still looked rather smug. Silk's eyebrow twitched in annoyance.
"Oh fuck you cat!"
She said stepping towards the door and shaking her fist at the feline who had been her partner in crime for many years. Bandit only seemed to get more of a smug look as she got closer to the door. He knew the easiest way to get her outside was to piss her off so much she charged out the door. Still, he was only a cat and couldn't do that on his own. She never got that mad at him. Still, she'd make her way to the door as if it were an abyss wanting to swallow her whole.
She was cautious though that was to be expected. She hadn't been outside in months. The closer she got to the door, the tighter her grip on Marcus' hand became. As if she were scared she'd walk out of the house and he'd be gone. It did worry her to think that maybe Marcus was actually a part of her imagination. That maybe she made him up after his death and kept him around in that way. Still, he had a physical form so he couldn't have just been in her head right? Right. Silk pushed those thoughts away and ended up finally putting her foot outside the door with a wince.
She blinked and stepped the rest of the way out, slowly but at least she now stood outside the house. Her stomach began to knot up and she bit her bottom lip.
"I... I don't think I can do this Marcus... Just... just let me go back in."
She said turning to try and go back into the house.

Back inside? After all that? After showing a peek of the Silk Marcus had known and grew up with? He had laughed when he saw it. Saw her throw her little fit just as she would have when he had first knocked on her door here in california. Her childish little fit that proved that one can grow up and put away their childish things as the old proverb said, but still pull the toys out of the toybox when the whim took hold once in awhile.
Though truth be told lately since he had arrived it felt more that she had been hiding behind her childishness more than anything else. A frantic attempt to avoid having to face the true reality of the situation they all found themselves in. If that was the case, then Marcus would be the foundation, the rock of which she could tether herself to.
That WAS what friends were for right?
Reaching out, Marcus put both hands on Silks shoulders and spun her around to face him, keeping her put gently but firmly. His face was sympathetic, there was not a trace of impatience for her to see. "Easy now girl. You remember what I said? One step at a time, so just close your eyes and breath some deep breaths for me, huh?"
The wolves den was quiet today. Most of the pack were either out on missions or sleeping after coming back from them. In the distace though, carried by the wind the young woman just might be able to catch the low hum of activity in the distance, a mixed drone of voices and sound that gave evidence that there just might be life beyond the dens walls.
"It's safe here Silk. I make it safe here. The Wolfpack make it safe here and once upon a time you helped make it safe here too. I don't just mean the den, I mean all of Anaheim and I want to show you that."

Marcus held her shoulders and she was forced to look him in the eye. It was hard for her. She felt like she was weak and it was never good when she felt weak. Before, fear of being weak drove her to be irrational and to fly around screaming, fists swinging and cursing the very ground anyone walked on. Now... that weakness just radiated around her like she had given up. Being forced to look into the eyes of someone who once saw you as strong, was unnerving. The way they looked at you as if they expected you to return to that... or expected you, the you they remember, to be just under the surface. She stared back at him though, a part of her driving her to want to be defiant.
"Marcus... I..."
How do you tell someone whose known you a long time... you forgot what you used to be like? How do you tell them that you forgot what drove you to fight, that you forgot what gave you fire... what gave you... life? Silk really couldn't think of how to tell him. She couldn't even think of making an attempt. She looked away after he finished talking about how she used to make the outside world safe, how she had fought for that. He was bringing up the past that felt so far away. Had she ever really been like that?
"I... don't remember..."
She mumbled softly. It showed, now more than ever, how deep Silk had been lost in her world full of sulking self pity. It probably showed how much she had kept bottled up for so long. The wolf pack huh? That sounds like something he'd come up with... She thought as she stared off at the ground. Aiko and Bandit stared at her. The feline was obviously the more impatient of the group. His owner was taking much longer than he wanted her to. Once again, the feline's impulsive behavior would shine through as he acted in hopes of waking her up and snapping her out of what ever daze she seemed to be in.
The feline jumped forward, scaled up her back and perched himself on her shoulder. Now, the old Silk had been used to this. She wouldn't have even flinched. This Silk though... She cringed and clung to Marcus like something horrible was happening. It wasn't until a paw smacked her in the head that her eyes opened. Silk was actually clinging tightly to Marcus, arms around him and everything. Bandit remained on her shoulder, looking annoyed at her. His paw shot out again to smack her in the head once more.
Again, Silk's eyebrow twitched and she swatted at the cat who, hopped off her and onto Marcus, then clambered onto the man's head in hopes of staying out of reach.
"What the hell cat!?"
Aiko seemed to fall over laughing at the antics of Bandit. Who knew the stuffy cat could be so amusing. Of course it was only so amusing because Silk was seeming more bi-polar than ever. One moment she's being quiet, meek, and full of doubt. The next, she's screaming death threats at a feline who is just loving the idea he's getting under her skin. In between her and the cat stood the man who was trying to bring her back and keep her in reality. This was like some really amusing soap opera to the fox. Her tail wagged and she yipped at them excitedly.

"You will." Marcus declared with firm determination, even going so far as to lift Silks chin up with the crook of his finger so that she could see the fire in his eyes. "Because I have faith in you."
This moment would have actually been pretty damn touching, even romantic (Though that didn't quite occur to the man.) if it wasn't for that damn cat playing his little games because next thing he knew, he was cradling Silk in his arms yet again. Her warm curvacious body pressed up against his......
'Awww, this actually feels kinda nice'
Giving his head a shake to clear it, Marcus threw the old cat a sharp look and mouthed the words 'Not Helping!'
"Oh? What do we have here sir?"
Yeah...Then THAT happened. Wincing with a groan, Marcus turned to see none other than Fox perched non nonchalantly atop of a fence, Her scarred half of her face obscured by her rich red hair. Beside her, feet on the ground was Croaker.
"Dunno bout you Fox, but it looks to me as if Fenris and Den Mother wanna run off and make puppies."
