Difficult? Les looked to Eury as she made that statement, a bit confused. She wanted to ask more, but something told her that maybe it was best to let sleeping dogs lie. Their friendship was still so new, and she knew she didn't want Eury prying into her personal affairs just yet, so Olesya should respect the same boundaries. Maybe one of them was sick, maybe someone else had custody of the children, maybe they were missing like Olesya's nuclear family was. Either way it was Eury's business, not hers, and she was okay with it remaining that way.
"Oh, she's probably upstairs playing with her kitten. Maddie! Lunch is ready! Wash your hands first! Who knows where that cat has been..."
She shook her head, leading the way out to the back deck. It was a fairly decent size, ten feet by twenty feet, and had a table and four chairs surrounding it. To the side there were also two lounge chairs and a side table between them for relaxing on a nice day, though generally Olesya was too busy to enjoy it.
She placed the bowls and various vegetables and toppings on the table, setting out forks and napkins for the three of them.
"Sit wherever you like. I'm going to get some glasses of water."
She offered her guest kindly. Maddie bounded out onto the deck, taking a seat at the table. Olesya returned a minute later with three tall glasses with ice and water in them. She took her own seat, filling her bowl with salad.
"So what are we goign to feed Oliver?"
Maddie asked, dishing out her own salad. Olesya moved the girl's glass of water to the side so she wouldn't tip it ove rin her zealousness.
"Who?"
"Oliver! My kitten!"
"Well...um...they don't really make cat food anymore. He's survived this long, and he's old enough where he can eat just about anything. We should probably just let him outside to catch mice and things."

Thinking her question over, hadn't Eury somewhat hinted at having a child? Discreetly her eyes glanced at the woman before her as she followed her lead. Their friendship was indeed still formulating and there wasn't much to go by to conclude a true judgement of character upon her. Yet still the brunette couldn't help but feel how off Oleysa was. Understandable if she blatantly ignored something she asked before could've been a touchy subject. But she didn't pick up on context clues? Even from such a brief interaction Eury felt that she must've been a sharp woman, so to miss it till now was a bit odd. Then again Eury was also an over thinker on some matters.
~Hm~[
With Maddie now present Eury wouldn't bring it up. Later? Maybe, possibly. Getting to know someone without seemingly prying was a tricky path. Some might not think so but how do you really get to know or understand someone without something about their past coming up. Baby steps. Oleysa didn't inquire more and if she did, Eury might've told her but later. Eury's seat was across from Maddie and next to Oleysa. She watched the two of them with soft eyes. A seldom half smile across her face taking in the scene before her. Her heart twisted in her chest as the images of her own family suddenly fell in place in front of her. Their laughter, their smiles. Then suddenly things started to go black as the images fade as if wind blew through them. She blinked a few times holding the bridge of her nose as a small pain washed in briefly. Quickly she recovered and began taking a bit of salad for herself, glancing at Maddie with a warm smile.
"Well he still is young. His hunting skills might not be so great. If there is any bread, cheese for now he can eat that.. Or you can help him hunt. Mmmhmm build a mouse trap and you can make him mouse burgers.. Yummy!"
Eury spoke with a great deal of humor, making a face like it was the most delicious thing in the world while rubbing her stomach.
"Don't know if you never tried! Maybe you can have one with him."
She tried to resist laughing but couldn't any longer.

Les was still acclimating to 'normal life' after the experiments and her subsequent downfall. There was a long period of time when she didn't interact with anyone except to destroy them in one way or another. The total damages to her brain are unknown since most scanning devices were busted in the fall-out. She missed subtle nuances from people, leading her to be a bit oblivious about some things. She was making due though, mostly.
"Oh that's true, hadn't thought about that."
Olesya agreed throughtfully at the mention that the newly named Olivere was still a bit young to hunt on his own. Given time, she was sure he'd do well, anuimals were survivors afterall, but Olesya hadn't had a pet since high school. She made a face at the idea of mouse burgers, though the reference seemed insanely familiar.
"Isn't that from a movie? It was animated. They made a big contraption to catch mice for mouse burgers...Um...Fivel...Fivel something..."
She wracked her brain, trying to piece together the scene from her childhood. It was right on the tip of her tongue!

"Fievel Goes West. Heh, I couldn't forget it if I wanted to.. I used to watch it with-"
So suddenly she paused as it if someone had interrupted her. It was something that couldn't possibly go ignored. There was so much joy within her words that seemed to fade instantly with a passing breeze. Her mind once again trailing off silently into herself. The thought of her children continued to plague her as days went by. Not being with them was killing her slowly. Gnawing at her insides. Decaying her mind. Not knowing where her girls were and if they were truly ok, how ok were they? Her son was seemingly safe but for precautionary reasons she hadn't seen him just yet. Precautionary reasons on herself. Sucks that her own child needed to be in a way guarded from herself. She would never never harm her children, but that was before her disappearance. Leon assumed Barker might've had her this whole time and if he did then he might've done something to her. That notion alone was enough to play it safe. Even she didn't feel right. She out a bit out of control with her ability, unable to truly focus it like she had once before. Though so much went through her almost wasteland of a mind the time frame between her finishing her sentence was literally seconds.
"..my..children.."
Her smile was short and seldom. She wasn't initially intending to show anything towards it. She was usually so good at hiding things but being a mother probably changed that factor. It was much more easier to hold back emotions and even be cold in most situations. Hide true intentions from others. But when it came to her children it was hard to hide what she was feeling. Maybe even harder because across from her was Maddie and Maddie was the same age as Lana. The joy she felt looking at her and the pain was all rolled into one. Silence fell completely over Eury's form as she took some salad for herself, dressed it and placed her fork into the bowl gathering a few leaves on it. She bit her lower lip thinking her demeanor just might kill the conversation but she refused to allow that to happen. She placed a well smile on her face again and chuckled a little.
"It was a really good movie.. If you've never seen it, I recommend it once we're able to...So Maddie, are you going to sing that song from Oliver and Company to Oliver?"
Eury spoke in a cheerful manner as much as possible just before eating a bit of her salad.

Though she was rather oblivious to the smaller nuances of body language and emotion, Olesya caught the catch in her voice like a red flag. She thought maybe something was up the first time her children came up in conversation, but Olesya didn't know well enough to pick up on the contextual clues. Now she knew without a doubt...something had happened to her children. And in that moment, Olesya decided she needed to help her do whatever it took to get them back. She couldn't imagine losing Maddie, and they weren't even flesh and blood. A mother losing her children was the worst pain imaginable, and no one should have to go through that.
She kept these thoughts to herself for the time being, as she didn't want to discuss such matters in front of Maddie. However, Eurydice presented the perfect opportunity to gently remove Maddie so the grownups could talk.
"Oh yes! We can sit at the piano and- wait! Le-Mom! I need a piano!"
Olesya chuckled. maddie was still catching herself calling Olesya by her real name as she had for a while now. But now that the adoption paperwork was 'filed' in the Dragon territory registry, she was trying to change to more familiar terms.
"I'll see if I can find one, it there are any anymore. Why don't you go practice singing to him now? Im sure he's lonely up in that bathroom..."
Maddie gasped a tthe great idea and prospect of her poor new friend being alone upstairs and dashed from her seat and inside the house.
"Don't run!"
She called after the girl, but a smile was on her face. Life with maddie was certainly a treat and an adventure every day. She turned her attention back to Eury, the smile fading slightly to a look of mild concern.
"Something tells me I'm missing a couple pieces of the puzzle here."
If Eury didn't want to talk about it, then Olesya would respect her wishes. However, as a mother, she wanted to help in any way she could. Especially for a new friend.

There was no way resisting a smile or chuckle at Maddie's sudden excitement. Seemed like Eury had struck a cord with the young girl. The young lass wanted a piano huh? Well ironically the brunette had a grand piano at her home and if the other place in her mind still stood then there was an upright piano there that Maddie was surely welcomed to. Her eyes fixated on the sudden blur that was once a little girl as she darted off. Children and their excitement always created a chuckle within Eury. They were able to switch it on and off so quickly. Then again there were plenty of situations where they seemed unable to turn it off; especially when you wanted to sleep.
With Maddie being dismissed, Eury had a feeling there was underlining meaning to it. After all, she hadn't really sat long enough to have finished her salad. But the subject matter was Eury's doing. Her current inability to keep that emotion completely hidden. Funny thing is without saying anything Eury felt an unspoken agreement between the two. It was just like earlier, how she could've asked further question but didn't out of respect. She could tell Oleysa would do the same if she refused to answer any questions shot her way.
"Something tells me I'm missing a couple pieces of the puzzle here."
It wasn't hard to see the concern in her face or hear in her voice. The fork in her hand was placed within the bowl leaning against its side as she leaned back in the chair. One hand remained on the table the other rested on her lap. A light sigh escaped her lips as she turned to look at Oleysa. Sure Eury wasn't a trusting gal but she did feel something here with the woman before her. A bond that could certainly potentially be something quite strong if they managed to truly trust each other.
"I'm pretty damn obvious right now aren't I?"
She pushed some hair behind her right ear.
"What you have right now, you're really lucky to not have that stripped from you.."
The question hadn't quite been asked so it hadn't quite been answered. But the conversation was now initiated and confirmed to proceed.

"That's a worry I have everyday. being in my position, as a renegade experiment and high-ranking official in the Dragons, Barker could easily use her as a bargaining chip to bring us to our knees. Bring me to my knees."
She frowned, thinking back to the attack by the masked assassin. She'd been marked as a target, she and David both. Maddie was both safe and not safe having parental figures like them. At least...before David left.
"Where are they?"

~Us?~
There something earlier that Eury had caught onto but decided to not inquire, yet just now Oleysa said Maddie could be used as a bargaining chip against 'us'. It was highly doubtful that the woman meant the two of them, after all they did just meet, though Eury would risk her own for the little lady. It had nothing to do with meeting her but everything to do with her being unable to standby idle as if unfolded. Not to mention her soft spot for children. So there was potentially someone that currently wasn't present. Like before she would take a mental note but this time address it in due time. Hazel greens glanced over to the woman before her. So she too had been experimented on? Eury was far too familiar with that aspect. It wasn't a pleasant experience. A sigh left her lips again as her body stretched in the chair a little before leaning forward placing her forearms to her elbows crossed over one another on top of the table.
"..I haven't seen my son yet, but because of the traditions of his father's family he's apparently off being a little captain stationed somewhere within Dragon Land.."
Her eyes never left Oleysa's. Her expression remained neutral until her following statement where it changed into a form of concern.
"My daughters on the other hand?... I don't know...They were assumed dead apparently but I don't believe that.. I have an idea where they could be but I'm unsure if he is still there or even alive himself.. No I'm sure he is alive, he's too stubborn for that, but still.."
There was so many holes in Eury's speech. Things not easily missed. She spoke about her children as if they were somewhat strangers to her - not knowing where they were in times like these. Mentioning that her daughters were presumed dead as if she wasn't present when it occurred. She spoke like things of this nature was news to her. There was still much explaining needed and she wasn't being cryptic on purpose. At this point Eury probably would answer almost any question that Oleysa presented even with her untrusting nature. In the moment Eury was seeing her sister Lily. Their personalities were quite similar.
"..It's not that I don't want to run out there looking for them.."
She paused her eyes finally trailing away from hers and to her own arms. She spoke like she was being held back by something. Again more unintentional cryptic messages.

Son...Olesya scanned her memory of the army for anything that might help with that predicament. She wasn't sure how old her was, she doubted he was old enough to join the full ranks, Eury wasn't that old...but they did have a small academy for youths who wanted a head-start in the military. Perhaps that was where he was. 'Tradition of his fathers family' must mean from a line of militants. She didn't know the last name so she couldn't be certain. She tucked this tidbit away to research later.
The second bit threw her for a loop. Her daughters were out somewhere, presumed dead, and in the hands of someone else.
"He?"
She asked, unsure of who Eury meant. It sounded like it was someone Eury knew, understanding the personality traits that convinced her they were still alive. She also had an idea where they could be, but something was preventing her from going out there to find them...but what?

"He?"
"Hm?"
Eury's head tilted back to up to face the woman next to her. Momentarily Eury lost track and almost didn't realize what or rather who Oleysa was talking about. Then it hit her.
"Shit I'm sorry, I was just rambling wasn't I? I tend to do that from time to time."
She readjusted herself within the confines of her chair, making herself more comfortable and relax as she proceeded to explain just enough.
"The he I was talking about was - is a man named Kilik Stone. He's always been like an older brother to me. He took care of me for a long time and anything that I hold dear he would watch over.. I'm optimistic that he is alive. Can't say I don't have my doubts but they aren't high though..Thing is if he is and he does, I know why he hasn't said anything. Or I can certainly assume knowing him for as long as I have.. He's pissed off."
There she went giving answers yet speaking in riddles again. Leaving things out like who would Kilik be upset with, Eury? Why Eury if she was like a little sister to him? Hell how is it that she didn't even know that her girls were dead or alive? Wouldn't she have been there with them more than likely? Or it couldn't been in a instance of leaving them alone. Yet again why would Kilik take them without leaving a word? So many questions needing answers. Thinking about it made her head hurt literally. She was missing for two years and couldn't remember a thing from that time frame. At this point nothing she said would make too much sense until she decided to open and give the details.

Olesya felt like she was being invasion, pulling answers out of Eury when they clearly pained her. Should she just let it drop? Clearly her new friend was in distress, and Olesya couldn't help but feel like she wanted to help. She needed to help.
"Why is he pissed off?"
She asked, starting with the simplest of questions rolling around in her brain.

O__O
Didn't she say who Kilik was pissed at? Eury quickly scrambled through her memory playing back what she had said. Apparently she didn't mention that tidbit. Again she rambled like the person before was supposed to know who was who and what was what. Lightly she shook her head as her left hand came to the back of her head giving it a little playful scratch.
"Hahaha, did it again huh? Bad habit, been working on that for years oddly enough still haven't perfected that..."
Despite the weight of the discussion Eury still found a way to smile somewhere and be a little lighthearted here and there. It was a trait of hers that came along with the concept being the perfect chameleon. Blending into the atmosphere that surrounded. As well as the concept of hiding her emotions or even truest intentions until the need to be revealed if so. There was a lot of things one learned when growing up to be trained in a certain type of 'job'. She looked at Oleysa with a warm smile making a statement before truly answering her question.
"Ya know what's funny, I'm usually not so open or trusting. I'm still weary on the trusting and for some reason I believe you can understand.. But despite that you remind me of my late sister in some ways.. I suppose that's what gives me a bit comfort around you."
She exhaled lightly letting everything wash over her. The smile didn't fade into nothing but certainly dimmed as she leaned forward placing her upper limbs up to the beginning of her forearms on the table, fingers interlacing with one another.
"My assumption behind it is that Kilik is pissed off at Leon because he more than likely feels that Leon didn't take care of me and the kids like Kilik made him promise... Didn't keep us safe.."
Eury paused for a moment and let that marinate for a moment, looking at Oleysa with a sudden smirk on her lips.
"Guess the cat's outta the bag huh?"
She could tell the woman wasn't an idiot. Those words weren't so cryptic as before so she could easily be able to put the pieces together and formulate an idea and response. Depending on the response Eury would continue on. After all don't ask don't tell right? Hell even when asked one didn't always need to tell.

Olesya smiled sadly at the mention that she reminded Eury of her late sister. Les was missing two sisters since the bombs dropped, no idea what happened to them, but she couldn't bear to think of the 'd' word...
"I don't mean to make you feel uncomfortable or talk about anything you don't want to. If my questions become too prying, let me know."
She said sincerely. It had been a long time since she'd made an actual true friend, and it was still something she was working on in regards to her readaption to society. Most days she was good, and getting better every day, but sometimes she took a couple steps back and just wanted to be alone.
"Leon?"
Olesya leaned forward slightly, her eyes widening. She had known that Leon had a wife and family somewhere, but she'd never heard of them. She also didn't put two and two together the night she caught Eury leaping around the buildings like a ninja. She'd held herself so cooly, so regally...of course she did, she was the Lightning Dragon's wife.
"So Kilik took your children? Why couldn't they stay with you?"
She could see him taking them away from Leon if he was too busy to keep them safe, but why separate children and their mother? Did it have to do with the bombings? What helpt her from going to find them? And why hadn't he taken the son too? Was Leon keeping him safe? If so, why couldn't he save his whole family? What was he doing about it? All these questions bustled around in her brain, but she figured one at a time was best.

"Actually it's comforting really. And trust me I will let you know."
The smirk remained catching Oleysa's reaction to whom her husband was. Admittedly it was a bit entertaining for her to say the least in light of the talk being about something that certainly wasn't laughable. Then there was the question that the answer would have things make sense more than they currently did. Again the brunette adjusted herself for the following statement. It was still something that wasn't the easiest for her cause she just didn't understand it. And not being able to remember the two years was even worse. Though it was more than certain they had some of the same questions in mind.
"Well I'm just speculating - believing - that he did take my girls.. They couldn't stay with me because apparently from what I heard supposedly I died as did they.."
She paused sighing for briefly. It might've been some time but she was still wrestling with the idea. Not to mention the fact that despite her joy in seeing him inside she still felt a bit crossed with him. She still felt he didn't search hard enough, he didn't even try to contact Kilik at all. She noticed his priorities weren't what she expected them to be if she was ever gone. Then again she understood the world was different but yet still. She felt her son wasn't really being raised by his father cause from her understanding he, at the age of ten, was commanding some post. Did she approve? Of course not, yet she understood the structure of the Sudeki line but still she didn't like it.
"When we ran into each other that night I had just recently returned.. Apparently I've been missing for the past two years. No I don't know where I've been or what happened. I have no memory of those years. Hell last thing I remember was being in the living room with them. Me lounging on the couch all preggers, Elena sketching, Lana and Spike going at it as usual. After that there's nothing and when I try to it hurts."
Yes Eury opened up that she had been pregnant with what would've been their third considering Elena was adopted. There was the possibility their other son was still alive, but wouldn't that mean someone had him. She was feeling like such a terrible mother and her growing frustration and sadness was beginning to show. With her hands already clasped she began to subconsciously squeeze a bit tighter. Her eyes squinted a bit, brows frowning in concern as she continued on with a heavy heart.
"From what I heard the family was attacked by the Katashi but yet not. Supposedly it was Barker who had made clones of them, so I guess technically it was Barker..He thought we were dead apparently. He claimed he searched for some time, but honestly I don't exactly feel like he searched hard enough. He didn't even try to seek out Kilik. I'm assuming Kilik must've been there and got the girls. I don't know what happened to me. Leon believes Barker might have something to do with it."
Now there was starting to be a hint of anger in her voice.
"I'm not a bad mother. I wouldn't leave them like that or not search for them. But I do feel unstable. My ability is unstable I don't have the control I once did and that is dangerous not to mention scares me. For once I've gone against my nature and abided to Leon's wishes to not leave because he thinks it to be unwise and that he isn't sure I'm me. He thinks Barker has something to do with my absence and memory lost. Fine whatever so the fuck what right now, my daughters are out there somewhere and potentially my other son..Maybe I am a horrible mother for listening to him..Things he said just got into my head cause they made sense and yet caused a worry in me.."
Her tightly clenched fist started to give a light purple glow, her eyes immediately caught it and she stood up easily concentrating on easing the glow done and it did. Eury shook her head and just took four steps away to away from the table, turning her back towards it and looking out in the backyard. Exhaling a calming breath.
"It's just bullshit.. I know I should go. I have so much ground to cover. But I have to refrain from losing control.. Who am I kidding I'm a terrible mom right now."
Eury would just let the passing breeze ruffle through her locs. It's funny how sometimes a breeze was just perfectly timed with certain moments. It always found its way to become symbolic.

Les listened to everything Eury had to say, some of it striking home at Olesya's core. Not being able to control her powers, missing memories, Barker's influence. That had been the same exact thing Olesya had been through. She had been kidnapped, experimented on, rescued, but the damage had already been done. The chemicals continued to work and she lost her mind, adopting an entirely new identity due to her lack of self. But she had been brought back, hit rock bottom, and raised from the dead. She had been too unstable to take proper care of Maddie, so she'd fled.
"You're not a terrible mom. You're just lost."
She said, the sympathy was painful in her voice. It was almost like she was looking at herself.
"I know someone, a doctor. He used to work for Barker until he realized Barker's evil motives. He found me when I was thrown into an asylum to rot. He cured me...from those very same symptoms you just described."
Of course she wouldn't force Eury to go, especially since she'd agreed to Leon's request for her to stay here where the Dragons could watch her. But she wanted Eury to know she had options, that it wasn't hopeless.
"His methods aren't orthodox, because modern medicine doesn't fix what Barker did to people like us. But he knows what kind of chemicals were used on us, he knows what they do and what can stop it. Maybe...maybe he can help shed some light on all of this, maybe even help you control your powers...I can't guarantee that he can return your memories but then again I don't know what's stopping them. I'm not a doctor, Doctor Twist would have a better idea what to do about...it."
She almost said 'about you,' but the problem here wasn't Eury. It was what she'd been subjected to. It was a hurdle Olesya still struggled with sometimes. She viewed herself as a monster, as a freak. But Doctor Twist had said that who she chose to be was what defined her, not what happened to her.
