. o O ( Continued from this thread. <3 )
Standing at the intersection of Torrey Pines Road and La Jolla Parkway - the second-last important marker from her vision - the small teen can see the Mount Soledad Cross in the distance. But she knows better than to move towards the cross, as her vision took her down towards the half-decimated Hotel La Jolla.
It's been a journey of about one hundred miles for her young body. And, being mute, it definitely hasn't been easy.

She couldn't speak but she could pant and huff. Both of which she was doing as she collapsed to her knees holding her right side. It was killing her, she was exhausted both mentally and physically. But she was here, she was finally here, and being so close to her destination left her lost. She knew she needed to be here, she didn't know what she needed to do.
Or even if she was just being crazy. That thought had occurred to her more than once in these last 100 miles. But what else was there for her? Everyone was dead. She still couldn't think about it without a lump forming in her throat. Clenching her eyes shut she grasped her parents rings that lay nestled on either side of her cross. It brought her comfort to have something of them so close to her. She just felt so alone.
She was in no hurry to keep moving and just knelt there in silent contemplation for several minutes. Giving her weary muscles a chance to rest and her mental resolve enough time to wrestle back the tears that kept threatening to stream down her eyes every time she pictured her parent's faces.
When she arose it was slow and deliberate, stumbling over the uneven terrain as she turned to follow her vision. There was a man that she had an appointment with, even if he didn't know it and she didn't know why.

She rounds the corner of the decrepit hotel, and upon looking around, would see a figure leaning against the dirty but white-washed and crumbling wall...
If she comes closer, she'll see the man's features. And she would know it was him.

She stopped when she found the hotel. Just as it had appeared in her vision. She was shocked and amazed by it. Not by it's splendor or lack thereof, but that it was just like she had seen. She wasn't crazy. Something was really speaking to her. She dropped to her knees and crossed herself before saying a small prayer of thank you. The Lord was guiding her.
Picking herself up with the little grace she could muster she pushed her hair back behind her shoulders before picking her way through the ruins, until she saw him. And her heart nearly split into. There he was, lost and alone. Needing a light. Needing her. Her eyes glanced up to the heavens, giving them a small nod before she carefully made her way to him. Offering him a small timid wave.

Bleary blue-grey eyes looked up at the uncertain patter of footsteps, just in time to see the girl wave and smile at him. He snorted his disdain and took a swig from the bottle with a slight sway.
"Whaddya want, kid?" He grunted at her, squinting. There was no recognition in his eyes...and he seemed rather grouchy.

Anna's smile flickered thoughtfully as she tried to think of how to communicate with him what she wanted. She didn't really know what she wanted, just that she had to be here. After a moment her smile brightened and she sat down next to him. Beaming and smiling brightly.
He needed a friend.

The man glares and grunts, taking another swig from the bottle in his hands. He glares as she sits, and moves an arm to cuff her with his forearm, the intent being not to injure, but to knock her back and chase her off...with a minimal amount of effort.
"Scram."
Anna may not be able to hear the word he snapped at her, as something else was flashing before her eyes.
This time instead of being a long vision, it's split into two. She can distinctly see a group of three males moving around the hotel's location and round a corner.
One vision has the men rush her and the man as Anna remained with him...and the man she came to find died horrifically. And she was left to the mercy of the men--
The other part has her having just enough time - she can see there's only a few seconds - to try and give the man she sat next to some kind of message and then get up to flee. The three males follow her in pursuit, and one grabs her shoulder--
The visions fade, and, instead of feeling drained and passing out...Anna feels a sense of urgency as her adrenaline begins pumping. Clearly this was going to happen any moment.
A kicked can sounds from where the men will emerge, along with a muffled curse of anger.

Her eyes widened in a mixture of horror and fear as the visions flashed before her eyes. It was almost dizzying having the vision split into two like that, and the results of the first one sent cold shivered through her body. She puzzled momentarily at the energy she felt surging through her body after the vision, even as she was knocked back onto her butt.
Scrambling up she shook and repeatedly tapped the guy on the shoulder. Pointing in the direction that the men would come and alternating between cupping her ear to signal to listen and slitting a finger across her throat to show killing. She wanted to scream, to tell him that they needed to run. Her fear reflecting in her eyes as she tried to pull him up.
Anything that might get him to move, to leave this place before something unthinkable happened. She didn't know how she knew yet, but she knew that neither of them had much time if they stayed here.

This girl was doggedly stubborn and downright annoying. The man looked into her eyes, his own gaze hollow and yet sharp. He lifted his arm as though he would shove at her again.
The motion of listening caused him to pause.
And it was something about her expression, about the naked fear in her eyes as she mimed slitting her throat that had him getting up to his feet after hearing the clatter of the can.
He was, of course, rather drunk...and hadn't had much to eat. So he swayed a bit upon his feet and pressed his "free" hand - still clutching the bottle - against the wall and shuffled along a few steps before having to lift his hand at the large gap in the wall.
It was too slow to escape. But...as Anna hadn't remained sitting with him, and hadn't ran off without him after warning him, the future had shifted.
The men rounded the corner as the man stumbled, clamping his hand against Anna's shoulder as his momentum took him to the side...through the small gap in the hotel's wall.
He didn't fall, but the shouts from behind and outside certainly meant they had been spotted. It seemed they had stumbled into a section of the hotel's kitchen.

Anna did her best to support the larger man with her weight, but she was not a large girl nor a strong one. The most she could hope for was to try and keep him steady as she tried to lead him out through the kitchen. Unable to help herself she glanced back to try and see how many of them were there, if they were following, or if they had gotten out unseen.
Though the pit in her stomach told her that was not the case. Her eyes turned back to the drunk man. God wanted her here to protect him. That had to be why she came here to find him. She was supposed to save him from these men. Or was he supposed to save her?
The previous vision with the men grabbing her still caused her stomach to churn. She didn't want to think about what those men would do with her if they caught her. She couldn't think about it. She just needed to try and drag him out of here. They needed to find a place to hide.

As the duo stumbled through the kitchen, it was obvious they weren't moving fast enough. A low wolf-whistle trailed to their ears, followed by boisterous laughter.
"--no tits, no ass. What a runt."
"Now now. She's a youngun'. We just have to...keep her as a pet 'til she gits'ome."
"I don't give a shit, boys, I'm harder than petrified wood--I wanna hear her scream."
Whether it was because he'd once had a daughter of his own or he was just disgusted by what he was hearing, the man shoved - more gently, this time - the girl down behind some of the slightly-creaky steel shelving units that had tumbled down on top of one another...and picked up a frying pan and broken steel pole.
The pan he handed to her and he made a motion to be quiet, as he hadn't quite figured out the girl was mute. Not entirely, anyway. His mind was pretty fogged by the alcohol. He pushed her head down a little more.
It flashed before her eyes. A tangle of bodies. Fighting bodies. She couldn't tell who was winning and who was losing, but in it, she wasn't helping.
A roar of pain--the sound of His voice telling her exactly who was struck. Or stabbed. She wasn't sure.

She blushed at the lewd comments being shouted back at her before she was pushed down. Falling with a soft thud she began to scramble back up until she was motioned to stop, being handed the frying pan. She accepted it in trembling fingers, her heart pounding. She had never been in a fight before. She had never encountered men like these. She didn't know what to do!
She nodded at his sign though and pulled her knees up to her chest, clutching the pan tightly, closing her eyes as the vision ran through her mind. Her breathing catching in her throat. So much violence. Uncertainty. She didn't want to be here. She wanted to go home. Or just anywhere from here and those men really.
She was scared.

Someone stumbled. Swore.
Another snorted. Amused.
The third stepped into view. Alone.
With a drunken lurch, the man burst forward, the broken - sharp end out - pole being thrust directly into and partially through the man's stomach. All hell broke loose in that kitchen as the man screamed in agony. The other two rushed forward, one trying to jump up and over the knocked over racks.
His mistake.
He slipped and fell, one of the racks sliding up between his legs as he fell, essentially canning him. He fell back instead of forwards, which left her defender scrambling as he didn't pull the pole out.
He did, however, turn around the end and use the length of it to batter the second away while the one he'd stabbed tried to both get off and hinder his assailant at the same time.
They hadn't been expecting this.

Anna flinched as the sounds of fighting filled the room. Clutching the pan tighter to her chest and breathing rapidly. Her eyes scanning around what was near her for a moment before clenching them shut again.
Silently she prayed to God for her defender to be alright. To make it through this. She prayed to God to make the bad men leave them alone. For His divine protection. She didn't know what else she could do other than pray. She was no fighter, and she wasn't even very strong.
All she had was faith.

There was confusion. Shouting. Cursing.
Even her protector, with all of his exertion, wasn't saintly. He was just as dirty and downright ruthless as the other three. With a heave that left him stumbling and unsteady, he yanked the rod from the first dirty grunt. He lurched, they attacked, the first howling in pain and rage though he knew full well he didn't have much longer.
He was slower than his counterpart. So, lurching, Anna's defender swung the blunt end for that one's jaw and clipped him, sending him back and away. The one with the stab wound, well...her protector didn't have much choice but to continue with his momentum, unable to find a truly stable balance.
Luckily for him, however, his follow through continued to have luck: his assailant was struck on the shoulder, sending him sprawling as the third joined the fray with fresh rage. He came in swinging and clubbed the drunk man with a fist, sending him to his knees with a followup kick.
The man coughed, stomach heaving, and swung blindly.
The unfortunate one that had been smacked in the jaw but got back up and in face-planted and then scrambled along the floor as the third kicked the protector back. Bringing the pole to bear, the one that was scrambling...scrambled too quickly and had his throat torn open and flopped to the floor. Gasping and unable to breathe, he would die a death from blood loss and asphyxiation.
That left, by his count, one man.
One man that slammed his foot into the face of the man Anna was trying to save. Or that was supposed to save her. He didn't flop back to much as a combination of flail and fall, limbs splaying and moving--to bring the last down.
Having lost the pole, it was a brawl of clumsy grappling and punches, letting blood fly until he got his hand's around the man's neck. As the life drained from his body as he struggled hard the whole way with thrashing strikes, there was movement he didn't see. Clutching his abdomen and swaying, the first would-be rapist came forward, a broken knife in his hands, with deadly intent.
