The road to reunions (GM)

War was marching through the land and his past had caught up to him.  His family taken by a ghost from Barker's facilities and now this.  It hardly seemed disconnected, at least in his mind.  But the trail was still alive, and now that he had her soul stone in his possession he felt like this journey was nearing it's end.  But before he chased down his last lead there was still two things he needed to do.  Both in God territory.  He needed to don the armor of Ares once again, there was no telling what challenges he'd face between now and rescuing his daughter and he needed to be prepared for anything.  The second was to tell Loki's mother about her Son's fate.  It was the least he could do for the man that gave his life to protect his family.  He could do no less.

And so it was Mathew began the familiar trek up Mount Olympus. 

[Leon]

Mathew would find it very familiar it hadn't changed much in the nearly three years he'd been gone. Life went on as one would say. However at the peak he would find Poseidon toying with the pool of water under his throne.

No one got in his way or stopped him at all. Those that saw him stopped and bowed a head or put a fist to their chest to recognize him.

Poseidon himself would grin at seeing Mathew.

"Ares... Back from toying with your prey?"

[Mathew Amtrum]

"No, but I have a name to put to the prey at least. And the knowledge he hunts me. However, War is coming and it is time for Ares to ride in the open."

[Leon]

"The chest behind your throne still holds your armor."

Poseidon would say with a chuckle.

"I pity the fool who has decided to hunt War it's self."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"I will show him the full brutality that is Ares when I get my hands on him. And he will wish he had vanished into the night rather than ever darkening my doorstep."

He'd growl as he made his way behind his throne to don the armaments of Ares.

[Leon]

Ares would find his armor, though it had been modified. Instead of outright armor it was a red coat with gold trimming and designs. On the back was the fist clasping the mace, the symbol of Ares but under the wrist of the fist was a coiled Jade green Dragon.

"Haphaestus said the old armor was boring and 'updated your look'."

Ares Armored War Coat: +3 Atk, Spd, Def
The coat is sturdy and has inlay that protects the user, lowering projectile damage by -18.

Ares War Gloves: + 4 Atk, Def.

[Mathew Amtrum]

"I'll have to thank him when I see him next."

He'd say as he stepped out from behind his throne.

"Is there any urgent business I should be aware of before I continue my hunt?"

[Leon]

"Nothing pressing really."

Poseidon would shrug and go back to toying with the water.

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Then I will take my leave." He saluted Poseidon before descending the Mountain to make his way to the Nordic district. He had a promise to keep for Loki. He'd need to inform his Mother of his fate before he could continue on his personal quest. A final favor to a dear friend.

[Leon]

Mathew would pass through into the Nordic section with some waves and salutes. Mostly smiles and grins, toasts of mead from those drinking, training become more intense in an effort to show off, or prove themselves in his eyes. However he would find Loki's mother tending a garden in quiet reflection humming a small tune.

[Mathew Amtrum]

Mathew would offer Laufey a small but respectful bow.

"May I have a moment of your time?"

[Leon]

Laufey would look up from her garden, seeing Ares she would stand and brush herself off to make her presentable before giving a curteus bow of her own.

"Of course. What can I do for you?"

[Mathew Amtrum]

"I wish to speak to you of your son."

He'd say, letting her ready herself.

"I wished for you to know that he died with honor and in battle. He died protecting and saving one of my daughters from one who seeks to destroy everything I hold dear. His spirit lives on having latched onto one of the Cabalian soldiers that made her way to the place where he died. And it would seem that he is content to aid her rather than seek his personal freedom. In light of his sacrifice I feel the need to honor him and you with a boon. If there is something that you have need of from me, ask it and I will do what is in my power to see it done. Now or in the future."

[Leon]

Laufey was left with stoic stunned silence when he finished speaking, her shoulder slack and her eyes wide. Mouth hanging a gape before she finally blinked, mouth closing in a clench her arms tensing momentarily before they went lax again. Her eyes closing, before squeezing shut. She let out a breath she didn't know she had been holding and would open glassy water filled eyes. Already beginning to turn red around the lids of her eyes.

"Be that as he found a way to continue his own path... Is enough for me... All that I can ask... When the time comes help him find peace."

She would step forward to put a hand on Mathews cheek as a tear ran down her own.

"And find your own peace."

She wouldn't give Mathew a chance to respond as she removed her hand and walked away to grieve properly.

[Mathew Amtrum]

He let out a long deep breath. He'd not be able to find his peace until his journey was finished. But he would do his best to help Loki find his. However, neither of those were something he could do today, and so his journey would continue. The crystals guiding him toward the Lightning Territory, where they would be expecting him.
