It seemed she had been assigned a partner at some point, though Ali didn't recall ever hearing the name or seeing the girl's face before now. A small frown tugged at the redhead's lips as she massaged the back of her neck with one hand to ease the ache that came from the multiple beatings - and in one case, concussions - that had come with her last few spars. Thankfully, said partner wasn't her most recent opponent, or she'd have to dig the flowers he'd left out of the garbage to throw them at his feet instead.
She refused to use the technology they had at Cabal to lure Stevie into a spar or anything else. It was one thing to accept in person and notice what amounted to a bulletin, but if this was someone she'd be going on missions with, it was even more important to handle this personally. She didn't seem to have classes with her, so it meant finding her personally from what she could see of hte public schedule the other girl had.
She'd go looking for the furious water wielder!

Stevie would be found easily. Loud complaining could be heard over the roar of the cafeteria. Some kid thought it a good time to push Stevie’s buttons. Since she was still burned, quite badly, they didn’t think Stevie would fight back. She did. By the time Ali had found Stevie, she and the girl were both bloody. The girl bloodied from her own wounds and Stevie’s burns opening and pouring blood. The buzz of the cafeteria didn’t seem to acknowledge the disturbance. This happened all the time. Nothing new there.

Savages.
Ali raised a brow at the disturbance as two of the Cabal agents fought over some argument like undisciplined children in the streets. One, she didn't recognize, but at least Stevie's name and face seemed to match up with what she knew of the other girl. Old wounds, still somewhat fresh, were ripped open, blood dripping from fresh ones as well. Still, it also brought what Preston had advised to mind about how some were more likely to jump at an imagined slight first and worry about it later. After she'd jumped him while eating a salad.
Perhaps there was a better way to address this.
"Stevie-Rae, I presume?"

Stevie turned from the kid —now on the floor rubbing her ass— and looked to Ali. Reaching up with a bloodied hand, Stevie would attempt to wipe away the blood over her brow. It proved ineffective, so she merely closed the eye. Looking the girl up and down she’d relax.
“Yeah, What’s it to you?”
Her tone was neutral, almost questioning. She’d prop the bloody hand on her hip.

She wasn't even going to bother with a napkin or tissue? For a moment, Ali was genuinely confused why the girl would just let the blood drip into her eye like it was nothing, almost literally blinding her in part. That was how counters and sneak attacks happened, not to mention the first impression.
"To us, actually." She cleared her throat, eying the hand tat wiped away the blood and deciding not to reach for it. She opted to look the girl straight face-to-face instead to show her some form of communication and respect.
"My name is Allison Kazim. It seems we have been assigned to each other as partners for the foreseeable future. I wanted to see exactly who it was I'll be working with." And what, though she didn't say as much out loud. It was fairly obvious.

Stevie’s face slowly formed a smile.
“So I finally get to work with a female? Don’t mind me, I’ve just had a few bad experiences working with guys. Anyhow, hi. My name, as you apparently know, is Stevie-Rae Wilson. It’s a pleasure.”
She raised her hand, but upon seeing Ali’s distaste for blood dropped it again. She gestured to the blood and the kid still on the ground runbbijg her ass.
“Sorry about all this. I don’t like it when people test me and think they can get away with it just because I’m crispy.”
She shrugged.

"Some tend to have them." She nodded slightly at Stevie's explanation, not at all offended by it and also not adding in any input of her own experience.
Alison would hold out her hand in the end for a handshake, eyeing the girl that seemed to be passable in terms of bruising.
"Noted." Even if the comment wasn't directed at her, per sey. "It's nice to meet you." She raised her brow higher.
"Are you well enough, or do we need to stop by the infirmary?"

Stevie would shake the hand, smiling wider.
“What this?”
She’d laugh.
“I’ve had worse. Anyway, you from 259 or outside? I’m from 11.”
Her tone had lightened considerably, though now her southern accent was thick now.

She had substance. Good. Ali gave an approving nod, returning the smile with one of her own.
"I'm from 260, actually. I transferred from the Academy." She noted the distinctly southern drawl that came from Stevie, indicating the girl was quite the ways away from home.

Stevie continued to smile, even though there was a lot going on with 260 right now. She had heard the rumors. Or maybe that was another territory with a 60 in it somewhere, oh well.
“Oh ok. Mind if I ask what brings you up here? I mean, I know I’m from a long ways from home as well, I just like to get to know people. For instance, I heard Cabal Academy was the best damn training school, so I came runnin. My home ain’t quite all loving and caring for Qi users. At least not all of it at any rate.”
She’d gesture for the girl to follow as she swept through the lunch line to get some much needed grub. She eventually settled on two bowls of fruit and a tuna salad sammich along with her cantine full of sweet tea and a little something extra.

Allison would let Stevie lead the way as she spoke, idling with an orange until her partner was ready.
"An exchange program, actually. We are trained back home, but the focus here allows for different insight. I'm used to front line fighting, so I decided to see what this place had to offer." The short version, anyway. She didn't feel like going into political spiels. It sounded like it was a dream come true for Stevie, too.
"It seems most of them are that way from what I understand. Most seem to favor small groups or going into hiding. It's good you made it here in one piece. Unless yours isn't a neutral territory?" Normally she'd at least have an idea, but the way territories were shifty rulers and alliances, it could be different from what Ali expected.

Stevie paused at a table and sat down. Food first. She pulled st the lid to her fruit and looked up at Alison.
“Mostly, I learned how to protect myself at home. It is neutral, but not everyone acts like it. There are a lot of rogues who don’t like Qi users. One of those groups killed my dad. So, I’m here to train. Maybe revenge will come later. Maybe. For now, it’s pretty much ‘I won’t lose anyone else like that’ kind of a thing.” She shoveled a spoon of fruits in her mouth and swallowed. “Next time I’ll be able to protect em. That’s why I used to be the TIME police captain.

Oni, red skinned and about as quiet as can be would look up from her notes on the previous fight. The victor was Stevie-rae hands down. Oni had originally come closer to introduce her to one of her new partners. But to look up and see both of them there she though of and thanked the fortunate timing.
She hopped from her seat at the edge of one long table and landed on the next and then another with welcomed agility and balance thanks to her tail.
The horned tiefling crouched by the two eye level with them both from her table.
"Konbanwa!" she gave a fangful smile. "So we are apart of the new squads? Been waiting a long while too get in one myself. I hope we can work together." big rose gold orbs looked at Ali wondering if she would recognize her at all.

"It's an admirable goal," she agreed with a nod. The vengeance seemed distant if she was contemplating it now after the fact, but who knew what Cabal would shape Stevie into.
"You used to be a TIME officer?" She blinked, distracted by the other redhead that seemed to come out of nowhere. Ali tensed for a moment at the golden eyes and horned, flush skin, uncertain why they were being greeted in such a way. But then the girl started talking about squads and working together, causing her to look over the newcomer again. Doubly so when she realized that she was being stared at in turn.
"Oh?"

Stevie nodded and was about to respond when a... fucking demon appeared. Here we go again. Great. Stevie sighed internally and looked over the cafeteria for golden armored assholes to arrive. When they didn’t and the air also didn’t change Stevie brought her eyes back to —what she now registered as— the femaleish one. She blinked once. Then she blinked again. This time the sigh wasn’t on the inside.
I had to expect this sooner or later. I mean really, we have... had... have had a fucking KRACKEN here. Is this all that odd then? Stevie thought.
“Hello? I’m sorry, are those horns or do you just love Cosplay?”
She hadn’t meant it to come out rude. Stevie bit her lip a little wondering if she could make it sound better but eventually gave up. Mostly because her face was still crispy from the fight with Tina.
