It took Ali a bit to gather the remains of her pride and push past the dread that knotted in her stomach at the thought of how this was going to look bad on her and Ayatlan both. She'd be a laughingstock, probably reprimanded. Would she be kicked out and sent back home? Not on a first offense, she hoped.
She knocked on her superior's door to let them know what happened! The experiments would be one thing, along with the weapons and bandits...it didn't look well.
But she would face it like any other fight she went up against.

The door would open with no one behind it. The Supervisor sat at his desk with a stoic face of boredom looking to the door and another man sat in one of the chairs in front of the desk. When she entered she would notice the room temperature was about fifteen degrees below the temperature of outside the room. They would both be looking over at Ali and the Supervisor would wave for her to sit. "What can I do for you." Was that a question?

The chill crawled along her skin as Ali walked into the room, noticing the other man and looking him over for a moment out of curiosity before her focus returned to her supervisor. She cleared her throat and bowed stiffly, a slight bow.
"Allison Kazim reporting in from our mission. I apologize if I'm interrupting, sir."

"It's okay. Give me your report."
The other man remained silent and would turn to the front with a smile.
"Ja, just ignore me, fraulein."

She hesitated, but the other man encouraged her to dismiss his presence and she wasn't told otherwise - nor was he, for that matter. Clearing her throat, she turned her attention back to her supervisor.
"We were able to discern the bandits do have access to pre-war weapons as well as the means to use it. It would appear that, if there is no caravan, they know how to safely travel with them, and are not against using prisoners as weapons themselves.
"There was a masked man that seemed to be in charge, other than the leader, but he wore a mask and what was broken away did not reveal any defining features." She straightened a little, refusing to admit she was uncomfortable even if it was obvious.
"While we were unable to safely secure and transport the weaponry, the bandits were unable to take the shipment back, and I can provide their general location. And those keeping guard over them."

Krane would listen carefully, while it did sound like a job well done, it sounded incomplete. More so due to no mention of having defeated or apprehended the bandits.
"What of the bandits and their leader, the masked man?"
The man with almost silver white hair would fold his hands together and wait patiently.

Curse every once of wasted mana, she had an audience that seemed to be waiting on her as much as Krane was. She refused to let that make her nervous, or more so.
"Gone, sir," she said quietly, stiffly. "Many ran after realizing they were overpowered and outmatched." Her jaw tightened for a moment. She wasn't sure how to elaborate safely. She didn't know what Cabal would do with the mention of other experiment, let alone the other man, but he did have white hair...was she going to be lucky, or a fool?
"I was able to break down the leader's defenses somewhat before they did so, but we received unexpected backup after we addressed the bandits." Definitely an eye twitch.

The man with the silver white hair would calmly raise a hand before Krane could respond, which caught his attention.
"Go ahead."
He would lower his hand to his mouth and clear his throat a bit.
"Forgive me, Fraulein. But vasn't ze mission recon in nature? Vy vould you engage ze enemy?"

For a brief moment, her cheeks almost went red, but somehow settled on some form of pink. Still, she turned towards the other man and nodded politely.
"I advised that we use stealth to gain more information and not attract attention; I understand this was an investigation into a sensitive matter. My partner preferred a more direct approach." Her lips pressed into a thin line as she bit back a small surge of frustration. She wouldn't insult Donovan here in front of these two. They were supposed to have been a unit, however dysfunctional.
"We were discovered when he advised me of this."

"Ah, ja sounds completely out of your hands. Once again, I vas only curious."
The man would go back to minding his business while Krane decided about what to do with the information.
"Bandits with old war tech, without the element of surprise, were outmatched by two Trainee Cabal soldiers dispatched on a recon mission. I wish this were true, but I feel you are omitting important details. Agent Winters would you be able to go to the location with Violet and investigate the situation?"
The man would nod.
"Very well. Trainee Kazim, your new task is to take Agent Winters to the coordinates and answer any questions he may have. He will act as my direct second in this matter, thus acts with my authority. Dismissed."

Ali’s brows furrowed at the summary. She had mentioned backup; why was it assumed that two fresh recruits were the important part of the summary? Now she was even failing to make a decent report. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to scream or hide under a rug. One look at the people there after the Grand Hall and everything would be a huge mess.
She raised her hand to bow out of the room, but pushed past it at the dismissal.
“Before I go, there is one last thing, Sir.” She frowned slightly. “I mentioned unexpected backup. You should know that backup is a group of experiments. Peaceful and avoiding others as much as possible.” She inhaled.
“We likely would not be alive without their help.”

Krane's left eye brow twitches slightly, but he nods.
"Noted."
Winters would walk over to follow Ali with a smile.
"Please, I am in your capable hands, Frau."

Silently dreading the twitch, Ali Bowes slightly and nodded as Winters joined her, returning his with a polite one of her own as she left the office. Whoever Violet was was for another time.
“I’ll do my best for you, then.” She had a suspicion about why he was chosen to join her, but for now the mage wasn’t going to fuss over a direct order. It didn’t quell the concern she felt gnawing in the pit of her stomach as she lead the way out. And it was going to be a bit of a ways to the territory border.
“It seems you know my name, but I am missing one of yours. Your last name is Winters?”

Winters would stop, turn to Ali and give a formal courteous bow while closing his eyes.
"I do apologize, Frau. I am Locke Winters. Pleasure."
He would rise and smile at her with a small tilt of his head.

"The pleasure is mine." He almost seemed...relaxed? At ease? Nonchalant? She couldn't put her finger on it.
"Is there anything you need before we go?" She assumed that they were leaving now.
