Shikenshi Training (Brianna/open)

[Cillian McWolfe]

Cillian was in the training ground, stance wide and sweat lightly formed on his forehead.  It was a day for drills, not sword drills or fighting drills like normal.  But rather ability drills.  This new ability of his was so different from his normal Qi that it still took some focus to get it formed and maintained.  Today he was drilling forming it and unforming it, the goal was that he would get to the point of it being second nature so that he could call upon it instantly.  

He reached in to himself and would grasp for the sword within.  Blue flame erupting from his hand as the blade formed.  Electricity crackling around the blade.  He'd hold it out, give it a few swings and then let it vanish again.

Today was a day for work. The hard work that left you sweaty and sore and a little brain dead, but feeling better afterward. Her test match with Pride still hung in her mind, and if she was gonna show the rest how it was done, she needed to work harder. Be better. And so Brianna had brought her sword with her, heading into the training grounds when she felt the air around her charge and lightning streak through the sky on a perfectly sunny day.

Because that was normal.

"Aha!" Without knowing if the display came from a person or beast, the brunette charged ahead, skidding to a stop as she saw some guy with a freaking blade made of lightning in hand.

"Whoa." Looking from blade to his face and back again, her focus returned ot his face as her own lit up. "That is so cool!"

He once more reach within himself. Blue fire erupting from his hand as the blade formed again. Crackling with electricity. A few practice swipes in the air before giving a sheepish smile to the girl that was now an audience? Not that he minded.

"Thanks, I'm still trying to get the hang of it. It's different from anything I've ever used before."

He'd say releasing the power letting the sword vanish into thin air again.

"Not your normal qi then, huh?" It didn't look like it came from any items on him. Curious, she took a single step forward, but not more, mostly so she wasn't putting pressure on him. She could handle a stray zap of qi.

"Where'd you get it from?" Lines would form in her left eye as it took on a crimson hue, letting her sight take in the amount of energy the young man and his shiny weapon produced. She couldn't hide the enthusiasm she felt at the sight of it, like a little spark of its own.

Aura Sight – When activated, Brianna can see the energy of the natural world and those in it, as well as their compared strengths. This gives her a general idea without exact numbers, and anything lacking even basic life energy appears as a blank void or blot in her vision. (+10 PER, +10 ENG)

Qi Use 1/13

"You know, we are still trying to figure it out. Apparently only three other people have had this before, and none of them are in Cabal. Best we can tell, it's some kind of infection."

He'd pull the blade out again. Another burst of fire and crackling electricity as he slashed at the air before releasing the power.

"But yeah, it's not my normal Qi."

Her grin went from appreciative to excited again as he pulled the blade out, even if the description was concerning. Just what kind of people wound up here normally? Still, he seemed chill and nice, so she was down.

"An infection?" She shook her head, the grin fading a slightly. "Sounds like you could be a legend if it's that rare, but if there's only three people, I'm surprised they haven't pinned you down to study you more."

"As best as we can tell at least. They are still trying to figure it out."

He laughed at the legend comment.

"Don't tell my Father that, you'd get his hopes up. It was a thought, that they might try to keep me by force. But I doubt it is worth the hassle and political fallout of doing so. But we do not have access to their notes, and so I just gotta figure things out on my own. Preferably without dying in the process."

He'd form the blade again. Grunting as it was a little harder this time, but he'd get it.

"But what about you? What brings you out here today?"

That was...reassuring. She cocked a brow and a hip at his comment about his father, unable to see why it would be a bad thing. Was he just shy?

"Yeah? Well I'm glad someone has something on it, I guess. Hopefully it's not as bad as you think." The grin returned as she nodded at his question.

"Looking to do some training. I need to be ready for whatever happens next, you know? Figured I'd push past the training dummies and see what this place was like." Like another person who was stupidly strong and rival worthy - like this guy. She had taken one look and knew where she stood in comparison, but she wasn't going to back away from him for it.

"Name's Brianna, by the way. What's yours?"

[Cillian McWolfe]

"Cillian. It's a pleasure to meet you Brianna."

He said beaming.

"Though I would be careful going in to deep. There are Qi beasts and other things lurking in the training grounds. And if you are not careful you can find yourself in the middle of a whole pack of them."

[Brianna Valdyr]

Tell her more. Please.

"Pleasure to meet you, too." She tilted her head to the side at the mention of dangers further in.

"Speaking from experience?"

[Cillian McWolfe]

"Yes. My last trip left us surrounded by smaller Qi beasts and one giant one. It was fortunate that everyone made it back without serious injury. It's also possibly how and where I got infected."

Which might sound cool, but for all they knew this was gonna melt his insides.

[Brianna Valdyr]

No reward without some risk. Cillian may have meant well, but every word spurred her desire to go further into the grounds more than her enthusiasm could on its own.

"Thanks for the warning, but I'll be fine. It won't be my first time against a qi beast." Though she'd make sure her armor got some extra pieces to be sure. Buggers usually had awful teeth. She'd turn back towards him after looking into the distance.

"So what can you normally do then?"

"A little of this... A little of that."

He'd say reaching into a pocket and pulling out a blue ball. Tossing it into the air the ball would split into four balls, each of them a different color as he began to juggle them.

0 level: Smoke and Mirrors - The Amazing Ardan creates an almost invisible fog in a twenty-foot radius around him that allows him to create and manipulate images of anything within that radius. Such images are visual only and have no physical presence but can be used to make duplicates of things within the radius, make things vanish, or even to make images appear to move on their own. These illusions register as genuine to Qi sensory techniques and machines.

"And a little magic, too." She watched as one ball, then another appeared, the colors blurring slightly as they passed one another. She laughed and gave a single clap.

"How many can you juggle at once?"

"As many as I need to."

He'd say, the balls continuing to multiply, shifting colors as they danced through the air.
