The snake-woman spoke again.

Does she even know proper english? Good grief. You'd think she was the one locked underground for a decade... That's not very nice to say, it's probably the best cross she can make between english and, uh... snake-speak? Man I really gotta look that up. Meanwhile, these machines, vehicles, are amazing... I'm really surprised they could get these up and running with...wait, what are thee machines running on? Ah no matter, that info is probably availavle on my personal tool, and shouldn't be asked in a forum like this...

Mal would ask no questions. Though the wondrous look in his eyes told a very different story.

Leyva would nod.

"Driving is one of the courses you can sign up for. Of course if you choose not to learn to drive or you are sent on missions before you are ready, you can request a driver."

    Great.  

Now he needed to learn.

Unless he could accompany a decently sized group...

He continues thinking and listening.

Sessha luckily remains blissfully unaware of the racism!

But... Wouldn't driving be dangerous? at high speeds... someone could get hurt! I wonder what the safety precautions are...

"Neato." Mal would respond simply.

Meanwhile, this is actually kinda bugging me...

Mal would tap away briefly at his PT bringing up information on the 'snake-people'.

Huh... Scales, territory 257 eh?

Mal would continue reading on.

257 was almost left barren from the war. A singular plot of tree's and water became the center of the lands society and heavily protected. A single man stepped up as it's only Qi user during the war. He was an ex military veteran of the war in the middle east who had awakened his Qi during a depressive cycle of self harm and suicidal tendencies. His name was Adder Berus. He taught those who could learn military tactics, discipline, and combat. During the war for power many had awakened among their small number to Qi. These people were taught how to use it to protect others and join their small militia as elite members.

Asiv's own soldiers made contact quickly when the Gods were a threat in California. Adder was hesitant, but he knew they would not survive alone against enemies in all directions. Adder's home was named Scales as a code name initially, using it as a secret training base for Asiv's Guardians and Militia forces. It proved very useful and kept rather secret during the conflicts with the experiments, Midgard, and Prota.

Now with the war ended "Scales" has been given official and protected land, adding it's name to the accords under Cabal. Adder elected as it's representative in an easily land slide victory as most people looked up to him and relied on him for their protection and trusted him completely. He keeps a counsel of trustee's to help him decide and delegate duties or laws, as well as relations. They are not heavy into trade, or really have any resource to sell in the first place, so it is difficult to get a lot of things. Considering most of the land has only just begun to heal and show signs of life beyond the woods and lake.

Since the water they live next to is fresh and untainted Scales being a military base is well established, the fort its self constructed on and over the lake keeping security on it very high. Because of this they are commonly attacked or assailed by attempted theft by bandits, raiders, or any group that thinks they can take rather than trade. So while Scales does not have issue with any one territory they have issue with almost every vagabond group out there.

They routinely send citizens to Cabal Academy for initial training, and many top of the class graduates get assigned duty to protect the water in Scales. They also have their own Advanced Academy which is another reason graduates who show promise get sent there, the specialized training at this academy is prestige a kin to being a Dragon Apprentice when it comes to fame. Difficulty is another step as Adder and his elite trained originals teach there. Most who go to this Academy return to Cabal as Black Ops or Spec Ops soldiers capable of working effectively in two man teams or splinter cell groups. Rumor has it a Black Ops team once even made it all the way to the throne room of Emperor John Strike on a joint training exercise.

For some reason most people who live in or are citizens of Scales have serpent like Qi abilities. -Declassified

Oh that's cool, this probably isn't a little girl, she's probably a bonafide badass!

With Mal so focused with his PT device he wouldn't hear or see that Leyva was looking over his shoulder. Especially when Leyva-

"Why the interest in my Territory."

Leyva would ask right next to Mal's ear.

    That man can move pretty stealthy for someone wearing such a flashy outfit.

The attention of the more observant figure in the room diverted, Micah focuses more intently on the vehicles and the visible procedures of the deployment and vehicle areas. Gathering as much detailed information as he can while being overlooked.

Including sizing up this Leyva character.

[Sessha]

"Hm?"

Sessha would look over at Mal and Leyva, wondering what was going on!

[Malcomb Warhazzard]

"Oh!" Mal would reply in shock, nearly jumping out of his skin. "I...I...I.... was just reading up. I'm not very knowledgeable of this world...I apologize, I didn't mean to distract from the tour."

Putting down his PT, Mal felt kind of horrible. He didn't want anyone to feel outed.

Leyva straightened up and shook his head.

"My territory is not on this tour. So I'd suggest you focus on the task at hand rather than being distracted. You're free to research whatever you want when we are done here."

Then to the rest of the group.

"Any further questions before we move on?"

Smiling a bit at the somewhat ridiculous distraction, Micah put on an eager expression. He'd learned what he needed from here, time to move on from this place and it's foul stench of machinery.

[Sessha]

After a curious head tilt, Sessha would just shake her head. No further questions about THAT anyway,

Mal would keep his PT down.

His territory? I didn't see any weird skin on him....

Mal had no questions or further distractions to add.

Leyva would lead them to the Dueling Stadiums!

"These are the Dueling Stadiums. Here you can initiate combat against other students. The rules can be as complicated or as simple as the parties involved want them to be. The fights can be 1 v 1 or group vs group, or 1 v many. The choice is yours. This is where you can spare with your friends, and enemies, at the academy. Learning their strengths and weaknesses, as well as yours. You can of course choose to spectate matches as well, to learn."

He would look at the group.

"Questions?"

    Sounds fun. Finally something interesti--

The momentary smile on his face fades just as quickly as it appeared.

    Great, the best part and I'm gonna sit out.

A flash of disappointment shows on his face. Then, as he resolves himself to merely watch the fights and learn from afar, he reverts back to an emotionless expression.

Before immediately resuming his nervous, but friendly, scrub expression as he asks,

    "Are there many of these fights to spectate?"

Hoping to seem apprehensive about the idea of these duels.
