The threads smack into Junior's leg, causing him to flinch, and he lifts a hand towards her.

Blue flame extends like a tunnel towards her, not quite hitting Nova directly, but the heat is still uncomfortable. In fact, it's almost unbearable.

She starts by covering herself with her arms before attempting to turn and jump off towards the roof of the next building.

The flames continue on unabated, as if she were still in the same place!

Her body starts to panic automatically, but despite her breathing starting to come quickly, she manages to keep her wits about her. For a bit anyway.

She takes a dagger and tosses it through the tunnel, assuming Jack should still be at the other end.

This dagger is both a handheld slashing and stabbing weapon, and a throwing weapon. It can be recalled to the hand that threw it at will up to five times a thread, each time adding a "Burn" counter to it. For every "Burn" counter the dagger has it adds +5 to Nova's energy stat.

The flames abruptly cut off, and there's a small cut on Junior's extended palm that he's inspecting with a frown!

Nova drops to a knee, doing her best to get over that sensation she'd just been through. She calls her dagger back, feeling a bit more energized, but realizing her body was still aching a bit.

"I see..." is all she says before turning to dash off again.

As she turns, another wall of flame erupts in front of her!

"I didn't realize you wanted to play that roughly."

She stops in her tracks, tossing a dagger in the air before catching it in her hand.

"You say that, but you were cooking me alive back there." she'd say, turning to look at him.

"I aimed around you."

Jack says, starting to walk closer, a new flame forming beneath his feet with each step.

"You were the one who wanted to see what I could do."

[Novocaine]

"I didn't say I'd just take it." she'd chuckle, glancing down briefly at the flames beneath his feet.

Firewall or Jack. Choices, choices.

"Is that it, then? You can do some crazy fire? I thought there'd be more."

"Fire is all I'm authorized to use at this level of emergency."

He says, still walking. He's getting closer to the roof she's standing on.

[Novocaine]

"Really? Boring."

She looks down to see if the fire that had blocked her path was still there.

Both flames are starting to die down.

"If it's any consolation, no one in our families could deal with those flames any better than you."

[Novocaine]

Nova frowns.

"It's not."

She takes a step off the ledge, her whole body turning to diamond as she does. After landing on the ground with a roll, she'd brave the dying flames.

The remnants of the flame aren't nearly as hot as she passes through them, though she can still feel the heat a bit.

Even though there's no distinct foot steps, Nova can hear the sound of Jack Junior sprinting down his flames towards her!
