After the last few weeks, it wasn't an exaggeration to say Cara was restless. Investigating a murder, looking for survivors on a battlefield, and other things to name a few. She needed breathing space, time to think, and there was no better way than to head out to the training grounds for some training? Or whatever else she'd come across, given how her last few trips in the grounds had gone.

Immediately after leaving the usual staging area where the populace of trainee's stay near just inside the entrance she finds tracks. They appear to be tracks of some kind of large cat. Rare, even for the Training Grounds!

A new development! Cara's eyes lit up at the sign of something new. Bow drawn, she would follow the tracks, looking for other signs that the cat creature had remained on the ground and not gone upward.

It was on the ground, it seemed to be hunting something. It's pace was slow and methodical, while the tracks it was hunting were unfamiliar to Cara.

Double score! She paused at the unusual track, uncertain what to make of it. The cat creature seemed to have a consistent pace, at least. She felt like she understood it well enough, the usual marks of a hunter, rather than the rushed and half ruined prints of something on the run or giving chase.
She paused to focus and study the prints again, more closely, and try to get a feel for what else she might be hunting after.

Cara gets the feel for seven intelligent creatures either hunting or being hunted in a large circle of balance. Deer, Fox, Wolves, a dog, and a lion. It is even too late for her to back out of her own search now as she can feel the presence of one of them catching wind of her, adding Cara to the list of hunt or be hunted.

It was overwhelming to sense so many in the game at once, the natural cycle of hunter and hunted, and Cara knew which side she preferred to be on. She took a moment to listen for any signs of what had noticed her before moving to continue following teh cat's footprints. She wanted to find a better vantage point if she could, open area or higher up, but she didn't want to lose the tracks.

In her senses she can feel a mask of death, dripping gold liquid, as if drooling from the black eye sockets of an animal skull. It is no benevolent creature. However, it is willing to watch and stalk her for now. She finds the tracks lead into a tall grass area surrounded by tree's and under brush.

The sensation she got raised the hair on the back of Cara's neck, the impression foreboding and eerie. There would be no talking her way out of trouble if that one got to her. But it was content to leave her be for the moment. Perhaps it would find her own quarry more interesting in the end. She takes a closer look at the second pair of tracks, the one the cat seemed to be hunting, trying to get a better look at them if they didn't match with the energy she was sensing.

The second pair of tracks were cleft hooves and well spaced apart. It was not leaping as there was no indention for lift off or impact, it's legs are simply long. She can also see branches and such having been broken by it, suggesting it may be rather large. It is not the malicious energy she is sensing, but like a pure energy, raw and unpredictable, yet flowing and controlled. The lion had chosen a powerful quarry to hunt.

How big was this thing, and how the heck did it not get tangled in the tree branches? Cara blinked, shaking her head in awe before hugging the treeline as she continued, listening for any sounds as she would continue to track the lion and apparently a deer. After passing a few trees, if there was no sign of her quarry, she would climb one of teh trees to get a better view.

She would find it incredibly difficult to follow the tracks in the tall grass, as both creatures were careful not to crush the grass they stepped on. However when she climbed the tree she could see massive black antlers attached to a white deer like creature lift as it listened to the world around it. It seemed this meadow would be the staging ground for what was likely to be an intense moment, as she could also see a singular wave of grass shift differently than the wind.

Bless the tree, even if there was a small nagging feeling in teh back of her brain that knew she wouldn't be able to stay up there for long. But the sight of the stag like creature had her attention, the massive antlers and gorgeous coat giving it a powerful but peaceful presence so long as it was undisturbed.
She reached for an arrow and knocked it, aiming at the peculiar blade of grass that stood out from the rest, counting to three in her mind as she waited to see which would spring first, lion or stag.
