He would watch as Xapham left before shifting the baby in his arms. The gaping hole no longer being hidden behind the baby as he looked down to coo at it.
"Come little ones. Daddy needs to rest and recover. Nothing is free, not even for me."
And Lucifer would turn away from the people playing in the distance, his wings hidden and eyes sliding past him and the two children as he slowly lead them toward the city. Only a broken path of blood droplets on the ground to show that they were ever here.
