She chuckled. He knew what that look meant. He always had. The wicked sly grin meant that she had found a way to tease him in the middle of this crowd. Her green eyes were dancing. Her grip tightened, Vale wasn't going anywhere.
"What am I up to Vale? It's very simple. I love the faces you make. So cute. So very cute."
Her hand on his shoulder moved to poke his nose. She then hug him tightly, making sure she could see his face as she got close. Right here in the middle of this crowd, Kate would kiss him lightly right next to his lips. Nothing to do with flirting really, just really to freak him out.
Alright. So maybe a little flirting. This was Kate after all. It was apart of her personality just like her blunt way with words. And this was a school dance too. But she was really just teasing him.

Oh God... close contact, and they weren't married. Well.. it wasn't that bad. He could live with this, just as long as it didn't escalate. Then he'd really freak out. This was a minor freak out on Valekin's sexual freak out scale. Around a three or four. Still significant. If she did anything else, he'd have some serious trouble keeping her at bay.
Eeeeahhahaha! Back! Too close...
This isn't.. THAT bad...[/i]
Ok, so he hugged back, but he wasn't about to put his lips on her. Even if he wanted to. That would be going over the boundaries he was taught that existed. Boundaries were not meant to be crossed! Especially in this setting.
"That... wasn't that bad...."

Disappointment reigned in her emotions. There had been a time when that had freaked him out. That had been funny. Oh so funny. She frowned just lightly, and detached herself to continue dancing. Maddening really. Kate would have kissed him on the lips, except that would have really freaked him out.
Vale just didn't understand things.
"Oh well. Maybe I didn't mean for it to be so bad."
Really didn't understand things. He was so dense, he would never get the clue. Always to be the friend and nothing more? More than likely. Oh well, life was life. Kate smiled and whirled, dragging him along whether he wanted to or not. Picking up the pace. Dancing was suppose to be fun. Reality would set in again as soon as this was over.

Reality wasn't that bad though. Things could be worse. She could be dying, or her life could be completely in the shitter, instead of coming out of the shitter and getting washed off. Back to that sparkling new shine it had when it first came to be. Yes, her life would become better soon. It wasn't that bad, not at all.
"Well what if I liked it?"
He challenged. Ooooooo, what would that make her do? Huh? Would she do something that would really freak him out? Maybe she should take the chance. Never know how he's really going to react until he does. Not like she has told him how she feels and they were definitely friends until further notice. There's always the next step. He just didn't know how she felt. Maybe he should take that step?

Having fun?
He was dancing on top of the bar, half-naked with his pants dangerously close to sliding too far down his lower body to cover the...necessities. He was grinding hard enough to potentially dislocate something---
"Of course, I'm havin' fun! Hey, I'm doin' this for publicity. Politicians lie; I strip! It still gets votes, right?"
And Kevin would have this big, stupid grin on his face. But so what if he was getting weird looks? So what if he was the only guy in the party that had a navel piercing? So fucking what? He was drunk, he needed to dance, & now, whatever was on was something to make X-rated body gestures with.
Yup, he was having fun, alright.

Her eyes narrowed. This was interesting... Vale was challenging her?!?! Well, the blonde smirked. If he was challenging him, well she'd just fight back. Now it wasn't flirting, now it was war. Total war. Kate would step back in, her eyes locked on Vale's. War.
"You did this to yourself Valekin."
With that she'd hug him tightly again. He had joked or challenged her, however you saw it, but he had brought this on himself. She pressed her lips to his and held them there. He had done this to himself. Simple as that to Kate. The fact that she wanted to do this had nothing to do with her actions. At all.

"Of course, I'm havin' fun! Hey, I'm doin' this for publicity. Politicians lie; I strip! It still gets votes, right?"
".........."
The young, Japanese female could be seen sitting upon a stool, not to far away from Kevin who was stripping the night away, letting that fabric tear away freely from his sweating form, and Calamity could find herself letting those blue eyes fall away from the crowed and glance upwards at Kevin.
Now, Calamity was a very withdrawn sort of girl. There public display of affection known as 'dirty dancing' had made her very uneasy, but she was drunk, and maybe she felt that it was a good enough excuse...maybe not...but it was a good one for now. And maybe, thats why you could see the young girl letting her form step upon the bar counter, a few feet along with Kevin.
The thin form was swaying to the music, draped in the beautiful kimono, but unlike Kevin, she planned on keeping her clothes on. Arms raised, twirling above her head, that mask drawn downwards to cover her face, the sleeves of the kimono falling, letting that scarred flesh reveal itself.
She was dancing. Eyes closed. The music ringing in her ears.

OH GOD OH GOD! Non Violent human contact! Someone sound the alarm! Ok, so his brain was in panic mode. But the rest of his body went. YES! Finally! Nineteen or so years, and he was getting another full on lip contact kiss. And it was in the romantic sense. Finally finally finally. He liked the contact, her that close, and then he didn't like it. To be short, he was at odds with himself. Now that he had it, he didn't know what to make of it.
This could be worse.
She could have done something extremely sexual, and that would have made him totally freak out. He freaked out in these sorts of situations because he didn't know what to a) do, b) feel, and c) think. Well, there wasn't anything he could do about the kiss now, not like he could push her off and call her a harlot. Which he didn't, and it didn't even cross his mind. And the problem was, it wasn't a kiss between friends. He felt like it was more, or going to become more.

Kate broke the kiss and stepped back. One eyebrow was arched. He hadn't reacted the way she would have expected. Truth be told, the blonde had almost expected him to shove her away from his person. She was shocked he hadn't. And she couldn't figure out what was going on his mind.
That made her nervous more than anything else. The blonde stood there, waiting for him to say or do something. She didn't know what to do, what to say. Nothing came to mind at all. Her fingers straightened her dress, her mask. But she still felt a little lost. If for some odd reason she lost Valekin because of this, Kate would hate herself.

"Well... I wasn't expecting that one..."
Damn right you didn't. Valekin stood there rather intrigued. He ran a finger along his lips, and could still feel the wetness that had been there. Geez, poor guy didn't know what to think or feel. But he did have that heart rushing blood through arteries at eight billion miles per hour feeling. Flushed cheeks, raised veins. All that jazz. He didn't know what to do though.
"What? I'm not mad... or anything like that.."
True dat.
Huh... that was interesting.

Kate smiled, just slightly. He was mad...just shocked. Relief spread through her and she smirked. Once upon a time, shocking the daylights out of guys had been the bright part of her day. Once upon a time that was.
"Now you know. I don't back down from a challenge Valekin."
All smiles. They were just friends. Just friends. Always just friends. A small drop of disappointment was nestled inside of her, because she had loved the feeling on his lips on hers. Chuckling, playing it all off Kate spoke up again.
"I think I need some fresh air. Too many people around."
An explanation for her actions as she turned to go outside. To lean on the railing and gather her thoughts and breath. She was blushing too, but the mask was covering most of that. The edges were still showing, and truth be told Kate wanted Vale to follow her but she needed that fresh air. Needed it badly.

He did follow her, because he felt like he had to. Like he was obligated to be with her. All the way through the crowd, and to the rail. He could have punched one guy that almost stepped on his feet when bumping into him. But that would have kinda ruined things, and it wasn't necessary, as the guy wasn't being an asshole. Valekin was more focused on her anyway.
Watching her walk from behind. He leaned up against the rail looking out off the boat when they got there. He liked the ocean, it was one of his favorite things. The power, the strength, the invincibility. Kinda like himself.
"I like the smell and feel of the ocean breeze."

Kate had no reply to that. The ocean was nice, but she would always be a city girl. The night life of a city made her smile. The lights, the sounds...alright, so maybe not the smells. That was horrible. The ocean smelled tons better, but she always loved the city.
"Yeah...It's nice."
She leaned on the rail and took a deep breath. Slowly her mind began to settle. She smiled slowly and shook her head slightly. Vale wouldn't think anything of the kiss. Of course. This was Vale after all. She grinned over at him, returning to the friend that she was.
"I could always shove you in."

"Oh now that wouldn't be nice."
He said, looking at her with a strange look in his eye. A look that there hadn't been there any time before. What was that look? Hmmm? It was probably a fighting mix between lust and love, more leaning towards love than lust. He wasn't the type that lusted a lot. But when he loved, it was genuine. He did love her, but knowing that she was interested in him, sparked his interest in her again. The kiss was only a catalyst.
"My turn to return the favor."
He cupped her chin with his hand, and wanted to turn her to look at him. If she did, then he'd plant a kiss in the same spot she did. Right on the lips, not just a peck. But he kept them there, he was curious on how it felt to love someone, and what it felt like to initiate it.

"My turn to return the favor."
What? Was he thinking of chucking her into the depths below? Or at least pretending to? Vale wouldn't do something like that to her. She found things like that to be false threats. The girl was smiling when he cupped her chin, one eyebrow lifted.
It wasn't until he pressed his lips to her s did Kate understand what was going on. She was shocked, wide eyed for a moment before the bright orbs slid closed. One of her hands reached up and softly gripped his arm. This was magical. Had he gotten the hints finally? Did he understand? Kate was a little confused, to be honest. What exactly was he thinking?
