Are you ok?! (Shiloh)

[Adelaide]

Adelaide was still running her stolen bat clutched in her left hand and Shiloh's hand clutched tightly in her right. She was breathing hard. Her lungs burned and her legs were quivering threatening to give out on her when she finally stopped. She let go of Shiloh's hand and dropped the bat with a loud metallic ringing as it clattered. Then she too would fall to her knees.

"A-are you... okay..."

She would ask between deep breaths.

[Shiloh]

Shiloh was clinging to Adelaide's guitar in one hand, and trying to figure out how to keep her camera from bouncing against her chest. A small bruise had already formed, but she was more concerned about damaging her prized possession. It was difficult for her to think through the agony of her muscles screaming and the anxiety ripping through her mind.

When Adelaide stopped, the only thing that kept her on her feet was the knowledge that, if she fell, she would harm not only her camera, but the guitar as well. She swayed on her feet, trying to breathe.

"Haaaaaah....." she murmured, trying to stumble her unsteady way towards a wall, where she could lean against something stable and sink to the ground safely.

[Adelaide]

Adelaide crawled over to Shiloh and grasped her tightly pulling her into a hig that was surprisingly strong given how worn out Adelaide seemed to be.

"I swear. To any. And every. God that exists. If you keep putting yourself in danger I will kill you myself!'

She said through hard breaths and grit teeth. As a slow trickle of tears began to warm Shiloh's shoulder.

[Shiloh]

Shiloh's entire body was quivering, and as her friend hugged her, she tucked her head into the crook of her shoulder and let out a weak whine. She was certain people were watching them, paranoia creeping in to overwhelm her senses. With her free hand, she reached out to gingerly grasp her camera, not letting go of Adelaide's guitar case with her other.

"Wha...what happened... back there?" She asked, mostly to herself. She didn't have the strength to try to comfort her friend, and just kept her face buried, inhaling her friend's scent as she tried to calm herself down. She could barely hear the threat over the pounding in her head.

[Adelaide]

Adelaide, upon realizing just how shaking Shiloh's voice was took a deep calming breath. She had to be strong for Shiloh right now. Adelaide began to pet Shiloh's hair.

"It's ok. We're ok. That... was a horrible act of violence caused by bigots. I shouldn't have taken you there. I had a bad feeling and I should've trusted it."

[Shiloh]

She leaned back, taking deep gulps of air to try and calm herself down. She had to shake the paranoia, to get a grip on the pain. What if they were still in danger?

"I... wanted to go, Adel. What... what was that, though? Why? Why did they do that?" She asked between breaths, closing her eyes to lessen the stimulation.

If only she could explain to Adelaide what was actually going on.

[Adelaide]

"There are a lot if people with hatred in their hearts, especially towards those they don't understand."

She stroked her hair again.

"Thats what we just witnessed. That moment when hatred is so strong it takes over ones morals and makes them do... awful things..."

[Shiloh]

She closed her eyes tighter against the onslaught of images, of what had just happened juxtaposing itself over images of war, of violence, from her past. Her shaking got worse, and she took a deep breath to try to steady herself.

"Adel..." she whispered. "Does... does this mean there's a war coming?"

[Adelaide]

Adelaide could feel her trembling.

"No, there might be some fighting, and my dads men will probably get involved, but no war. My dad will see to that. I'm sure."

[Shiloh]

Shiloh's trembling didn't stop. She released her camera to reach out and cling to Adelaide, holding tightly to her shirt. She didn't know what to say. Fears began to fly through her mind. What would happen if war DID break out? Would the same thing that happened before, happen again? Would she be spirited away from her only friend, and the job that she loved? Would she have to start all over again? Would everything fall apart?

She shuddered and clung to her friend, unable to speak.

[Adelaide]

Adelaide gripped her friend tight.

"Hey, no matter what happens I'll always be right here for you keeping you safe, and protected!"

[Shiloh]

Shiloh buried her head deeper into Adelaide's shoulder, muffling her voice as she spoke.

"But what if I disappear again... or what if... you do?"

Tears began to leak out of her eyes, and she shuddered in another sob.

[Adelaide]

Disappear? Again? Not the time to worry about those as she started to rock Shiloh.

"I'm never going to let that happen, you hear me? Never. And if something happens and you Disappear, then you bet your ass I will not stop till I find you again. You got that, no force in heaven or hell will prevent me from getting to you. I swear to you."

[Shiloh]

Shiloh hesitated a minute, before nodding into her friend's shoulder. She clung tighter to Adelaide as she fought to gain control over herself again. She whimpered softly as the full exhaustion began to seep through her muscles, and her shaking became a purely physical response.

"Adel... I... I just want to go home..."

[Adelaide]

Adelaide nodded.

"Of course, lets get you home. Can you stand?"
