Stevie nodded silently.
"Yeah they're cool."
She had no clue what Rhona was talkin about.

[Xapham]

Xapham would be in his office grading papers!

[Rhona Hall]

“Profes... Mr... Xepham.” Rhona stumbled on what to call him as she knocked on the door.

[Stevie-Rae]

Stevie would wait behind Rhona, stroking her pocket again.

[Xapham]

Xapham would look up from his grading and smile.

"Ah! Ms. Hall, a pleasure as always come in come in."

He would say with a smile.

"Ah, and who might your friend be here?"

[Rhona Hall]

“You might be familiar with Stevie Sudeki? She kind of wandered into the gym a bit lost and alone. I thought maybe you can help her like you helped me.” Rhona explained.

[Stevie-Rae]

Stevie kept rubbing her pocket and gave a half hearted wave.
"Hello. Uhh nice to meet you."

[Xapham]

Xapham would nod and stood up to offer a handshake.

"Welcome to my home. What brings you out this way?"

[Rhona Hall]

Rhona remained silent unless she was asked for her input. She leaned against the door frame and crossed her arms.

[Stevie-Rae]

Stevie gave a half hearted wave and a shy smile, still keeping her hand pressed on her flask.
"Uhh thank you. I came here on an Arc."
She shrugged.
"I wandered into the school, like what Rhona.. err Ms Hall stated. She mentioned you might need to hire some new people. I can help with security. It's not exactly tight here if I could make it in."

[Xapham]

Xapham chuckled.

"I meant how did you find yourself in this building, it may surprise you but I'm actually from your world. I just ended up here 8 years ago... Despite the fact that I was in the Arc when the attack happened."

However he would lean back in his chair and inspect the woman. He could see that she was far FAR from... innocent. Even Rhona had a glimmer of innocence in her. But this one...

"I have no need for security. Despite the troubles that you would think we would get here, our reputation keeps the worst at bay, and those that aren't the worst are too scared to attack a school for children with powers."

He would chuckle.

"I would like for you to be honest with me though, if you would please. Why, do you want to work in this facility?"

[Stevie-Rae]

It was Stevie's turn to chuckle.
"I put one foot in front of the other. Like I said. I wandered in. Want me to be honest? I'm in a tough spot. I'd rather not sleep on the street again and Ms. Hall here said you might be able to help."
Stevie took a breath.
"I used to help people. I used to care a whole lot more. Then I lost someone and now I care more about alcohol, me, and mine more than I do anyone else. Honest truth."
Brutal honesty. Stevie scowled at herself. How pathetic she had become. She wanted to be like she used to be, before everything went to hell in a handbasket.

[Xapham]

Xapham would nod in understanding.

"I appreciate your honesty, so I will return the favor, as much as I would like to help I am not able to afford a charity. The charity I could afford went into buying the Apartment complex for the metas, having it furnished and giving them some supplies. Now, I've only enough to keep this place running, my children fed, and my employee's paid. And, as you are now, you are not an influence I want around my children. I hope you understand what I mean, and while I mean no offense I'm sure you understand."

[Stevie-Rae]

Stevie raised a brow and nodded. It's what she had expected. She kept her emotions in check. This man wouldn't see her break.
"Yeah, I never asked for your money. So don't go doing me any favors."
She'd leave and give a smile to Rhona.
"Thanks for trying but I'm a helpless cause and dangerous. See ya around."
Yeah she had tried and all she got in return was wounded pride. Fuck this guy. Fuck this place. Apparently Rhona was the only one with a fucking heart.

[Xapham]

"Miss Wilson, would wait a moment? I wasn't finished speaking."

Xapham would say calmly.
