[ooc: Closed, period.] Chi was running again. She seemed to be doing this a lot lately. It got her mind off things, and with her new line of work, it payed to be in top physical condition. Soft gray sweatpants and a black racerback tank top clad her body along with her comfy pair of running sneakers. Her pink iPod was strapped to her right upper arm, the ear buds placed in her ears pounding out her newfound favorite band Aural Vampire. She found that their upbeat techno rock tempos helped her keep pace and inspire her running. Bored of the park and wanting a little resistance, Chi ran along the beach, the soft sand bowing to her fast moving feet, making her work harder to keep her pace. Her path traced the line of the water, staying on the dry sand to keep her sneakers clean, but it gave her eyes something to do while she ran. |

Laying on the beach with his head propped up on his arms, Aureus stared out into the ocean. He was looking for something, but had no clue what it was. It was a nice day really, but it was all but wasted on him. For the last month or two everything just seemed to be sliding down hill. He was getting bored of life as a whole, his grades were slipping, and he was seeing Chi less and less. What exactly had gone wrong he couldn't tell you, or even guess, or maybe he just didn't want to. Even so, nothing felt like it was going to change, and that in itself was depressing.
Dead eyes continuing to stare off into nothing, he dug his heels into the sand. The whole friction of it felt good, contrary to the boring sound of crashing waves that just seemed to wash over and annoy him.

Asu wa machi daka yoru daka, kimi to hikari mite tojite wa.. The music played in her ears as she ran, but something was in her path...or, someone rather. Slowing her pace down to stop at his feet, Chihiro pulled the earbuds from her ears with one hand, the music still blaring.
"Aureus?"
She asked, a surprised tone in her voice. She hadn't expected to see him, well, she hadn't expected to see much of anyone while she was running. Truth be told, she hadn't had a chance to see him since handing over the information about the Brimstone...and learning of the results.

The Pillar hadn't even noticed his girlfriend until she said his name. He was surprised, but didn't show it. "Hey..." Aureus replied, looking up at her. She looked to be in the middle of her run, and shocked to find him there. Eyes locked with hers, he kept looking for the same something as before.

Chi tilted her head to the side, eyes narrowing slightly as she noticed an odd look in his eyes.
"You alright?"
But then, her mind wandered to the knowledge she had come across. Brimstone..A powerful enhancement drug that was illegal and had adverse side effects. She looked uneasy, crossing her arms over her stomach, earbuds dangling unnoticed in her hand, music still blaring softly.
"I found out, you know. About that drug."

"Nah, I don't think I am, but I dunno why," He said, still staring into her eyes. They were a nice, deep chocolate brown. Aureus had always liked them; they had this odd sort of comfort to them. He found his own rather dull and boring. There was no real spark to them.
"Oh you did, eh? Well, then I'm assuming you know that I started taking it for you, and in the end didn't even need it. Not to mention, I stopped taking it last week. It...hurts, I guess is the word. It's weird." he said dully, as if there was nothing wrong in the world.

Instead of relief, disbelief and coldness filled those deep chocolate eyes. He was using the drug because of her?! And now because of her, he was hurting once more. She wasn't an expert on the subject, but she knew enough textbook crap about drugs and withdrawal to somewhat understand what he was going through now.
"You...idiot."
She said softly, shaking her head.
"Why the hell would you do something so fucked up. And because of me! You hurt yourself and subject yourself to nasty shit like that and why? It didn't make you stronger in the end!"

"I'm fine, so don't worry. And I did it because I love you...or did. Are we even together anymore? We barely talk now," Aureus answered, letting a little of what had been bother him leak out. His manner remained the same however, indifferent and a bit casual.

Chi's eyes narrowed. What was he talking about? Doing things for her, and then dismissing them off as being not together? And to say it with such...detachment. Her temper flared.
"What's your problem?..!"
She demanded, looking squarely at him. He had freaked out the last time she had left him and now...it was like he didnt even care. Make up your mind.
